Chapter 17
About fifteen minutes after my conversation with Vic, Austin and Tony were here. As they got out of the car, I felt my heart clench. You can do this Fuentes. You have to do this. They walked up to the door and Vic let them in, Austin laughed at something my brother said and Tony looked disorientated. Vic ushered them inside and into the living room where I was sitting. Tony smiled and looked a bit relieved.
"Austin and I are going down to the basement to chill," Vic said, grabbing Austin's elbow, "Oh and Mike, if you need me don't hesitate."
I nodded before he dragged Austin downstairs, closing the door to the stairwell behind them.
Tony sat down on the couch next to me, "Are you ok?" he whispered.
"Yeah," I said, "I don't know what happened..."
"That's good," he said, his voice was emotionless.
Maybe this was a bad idea after all... Maybe it was to soon, this should've waited until Monday... I glanced over in his direction, he was looking at me, his eyes wide. When he saw me his head snapped foward. Tony...
"Mike, I'm sorry," he whispered, "I shouldn't of done that."
It didn't take a genius to figure out what he was talking about, "Don't apologize," I said, turning my body to face his.
"I was stupid," he mumbled, that made me frown, maybe he didn't mean it, "I was desperate, you know? I wanted you to believe me so bad. I really do think you're beautiful though... And I'm sorry, but I can't help but feel this way. I don't expect anything out of you though, I just want you to take care of yourself, ok?"
He stood up to leave, "I want you to be happy. And I'm so so sorry that I messed up our friendship. I'll leave now."
He started to walk past me.
"No," I whispered, "Don't leave."
I grabbed his hand as he walked passed me. He stopped for a moment. I stood up and turned him around, "Let me talk, ok?"
He nodded and looked at me, his eyes full of emotion.
"I know I sort of shut down when you kissed me and I'm sorry for that." I took a deep breath, "But it wasn't because of what you did. It was because of what happened in my mind afterwards, I hear voices Tony, and they attacked me after I kissed you back. They told me you don't care and that you're trying to make fun of me and that I should kill myself. That's why I shut down, because I was scared that it was true."
I looked away, I couldn't deal with his response. He pulled in for a hug, clutching me tightly, like he was scared to let go.
"I care so much Mike," he whispered, "I do I promise."
I nodded, "I know Tone, I know."
He pulled away from the hug and looked at me, his eyes watering. Suddenly he was to far away from me. I put my hands around his neck and pulled him in to a kiss. He gasped, not expecting it, but he kissed me back none-the-less.
Once the kiss ended he pulled away and whispered, "You're amazing."
"Only because that's how you make me feel," I responded, "You're the amazing one."
I nuzzled my face in his neck, not wanting to leave this moment. Because, I was peaceful and he was perfect.
"Mikey," he whispered, "Excuse me if I'm being to forward, but; Will you be my boyfriend?"
I smiled into his neck and nodded.
