Winning you over was the hardest thing to do

Candace's pov-

Jaime and I walked back to the dressing room. I practically ran so I could be away from him. I finally got to the door and knocked. It finally opened after a couple of seconds. I saw a tall woman with black high heels on. A pair of booty shorts, a Drop Dead shirt, she had short length hair that matched her very well and some dark lipstick. She was so gorgeous. I couldn't even compete with this chick. She was tall.

My jaw dropped as I stated at her up and down. "Can I help you?" She asked sweetly with a smile. Even her smile was pretty. "Y-yeah" I stuttered amazed by her figure. "My friend TJ is in there" I finally managed to say. "Oh" she said looking back. "You're the girl she was talking about" she said excitedly. "You're more pretty than they described you! Please come in!" She said again grabbing my arm and closing the door after my entrance.

Everyone was cracking open champagne and wine. Wow fancy. A couple of more people had shown up sitting on the red velvet couch. "Yo Candace!" A familiar voice said over other people's conversations. I smiled and walked over. "Hey Alex" I said hugging him. "Where's Jaime?" He asked. "I kind of sorta ran away from him" I said. Alex spit out his whine. "Why?!" He asked in shock with his eyes widened. "He's been a jerk to me since I got here" i said crossing my arms. Alex walked away. I grabbed a wine bottle and poured some in a cup. I walked over to the girl I was talking to earlier. "Hi!" I said noticing her back. She turned around. "Hey!" She said giving me a hug. She pulled away. "If you don't mind me asking, what's your name?" She asked. "Candace, but my friends call me Candy" I said shaking my hand. "What about yours?" I asked. "My name is Jessica" she said. "Very nice to meet you Jessica" I said. "Nice to meet you also Candy" she said. I smiled. "So how do you know pierce the veil?" I asked her. "Actually the bassist you know? Jaime" she said. "Yeah" I said wanting her to continue her sentence. "I'm his girlfriend" she finally said. How could a jerk like him win over a girl like her? I thought to myself. "Wow, for how long?" I asked. "Ten years" she said. I nearly choked on my drink.

"Baby, there you are" Jaime's voice said hugging Jessica around her waist. "Babe!" She squealed. She turned around and kissed him on the lips. It turned into a full make out session between them. "Um, I'm gonna go now" I said awkwardly before walking away to find TJ.

I don't understand love anymore.
