Misadventures

No Mercy

Carolina's POV
We got to the hospital and the doctor examined me. After what felt like the longest wait for news from the doctor, he came back telling us the worst news ever. We lost the baby.
I started crying and wrapped my arms around Tony's neck, since he was standing up.
“How did this happen, Tony?” I asked him as I was crying.
“I don't know, Carolina.” He replied, hugging me. I could feel a tear run down his cheek. “I don't know.”
We went back to the bus and all the guys were up. Of course we came in with sad faces.
“Is everything okay?” Vic asked.
“We-we lost the baby.” I said, starting to cry again.
Jaime rushed over to me and hugged both Tony and I. I grabbed hold of Jaime's arm and held it like there was no tomorrow. From this baby I learned, you should never take things you love for granted. Jaime let us go.
“Thanks, man.” Tony said.
I was wiping away my tears, and I saw the guys looked bummed.
“It's just like Marley and Me, just without the dog.” I said, with a little giggle.
Jaime looked down, then looked up and smiled at me and gave me and Tony one last hug.
“Well, I better be going to sleep, tonight was pretty, exhausting.” I said.
The next day I woke up and took a shower and I started to shave. When I had the thought, 'Maybe one little cut wouldn't hurt, not as bad as the emotional pain anyways.' So I take the blade out of the razor, when I hear a knock on the door.
“Hey, Carolina?” Tony said as he entered.
I was basically frozen at this point.
“No, Carolina, don't!” He said, pulling down the shower curtain and pinning me to the ground of the shower with it.
We were fighting over the razor blade, me wanting to cut with it, him wanting me not to, when finally I saw what was right in front of me, so I let go. We were both cut by the blade, but didn't make any contact.
“Sorry.” I said, crying. “I love you.”
He looked shocked, we had never said that to each other before.
“I love you too.” He replied, as the water from the shower soaked him.
He got out and washed the blood off his hands and I rinsed mine off with the shower water, as soon as I got out I got dressed, got the first aid kit, wrapped my hands first, then Tony's.
“Sorry about that, Tony, I wasn't thinking.” I said.
“You were hurting.” He said. “I get that.”
I'm glad he understood, but I still felt bad.
“Hey guys.” Jaime said as he walked in.
“What happened to your hands?” He asked.
“A stupid encounter with a razor blade, it's nothing, we're fine.” I said.
“Carolina,” He started, “Life is to be lived.”
“Yeah, I know, I totally agree.” I said, smiling at him.
“And that's why, I got you this.” Jaime said, handing me a box.
As soon as I grabbed it I felt movement, I opened it and it was a little Labrador puppy!
“Aw! Jaime! Tell me you poked holes in that box.” I said, melting at the sight of the pup.
“Of course!” Jaime replied.
“Are you a girl dog? Or a boy dog?” I asked the pup in a little baby voice.
“They said she was a girl.” Jaime told me.
“Aw. Well, this is an unexpected surprise! Let's go talk girl names, Tony.” I said.
Jaime laughed, and so did I. Tony smiled.
“Okay, come on, this is serious, puppy parents unite, girl names, let's go!” I told Tony, pointing my finger to the back room.
After about an hour of thinking of unique dog names, we came up with Honey-Lemon. Because for all we know, she could be sour, she could be sweet. Tony and I brought her out and showed the guys.
“Guys, I'm glad to announce the newest member of our family, Honey-Lemon!” I told them.
They were pretty silent.
“Um, where did you get a puppy?” Vic asked.
“Jaime.” I told them, looking at Jaime, who had is face buried closely in a magazine.
Vic looked at Jaime.
“Jaime, do you have anything you want to say?” He asked Jaime.
“Welcome to the family, Honey-Lemon!” Jaime exclaimed, rushing up to cuddle her.

Tony's POV
When we went to the hospital the doctor examined Carolina and we had to wait a while to see what was going on. The doctor came back.
“There's no easy way to say this,” He said. “But the baby didn't make it.”
Carolina started crying immediately, and I felt every negative emotion hit me at once, pain, betrayal, depression. How could an innocent be lost just like that? I was standing up and Carolina wrapped her arms around the back of my neck, I leaned down a little so she could reach me a little better. She asked how something like this could happen, and I started to cry.
“I don't know, Carolina. I don't know.” I said.
When we went back to the bus we had to tell the guys what had happened, and Jaime, being the nice guy that he is, gave both me and Carolina a hug.
“Thanks, man.” I said.
Carolina said it was just like Marley and Me but without the dog, and let out a little giggle, I could tell she was trying to mask the pain.
Jaime gave both of us one last hug, I don't know why, probably just because he's a nice guy. Carolina went to sleep, and I could understand why, I was pretty depressed too, so I went to bed and thought about everything and what could have been until I went to sleep. The next morning I was all out of clean shirts, but there was one that I gave Carolina just in case she needed it, but she was in the shower. I debated on going in there, I mean it's not anything I haven't seen before, so I knocked, then entered to see Carolina holding a razor blade.
“No, Carolina, don't!” I yelled.
I pulled down the shower curtain and wrapped it around her, then pinned her to the shower floor. She got her hands out and started going after the blade, then we started fighting over it, when finally she let go, I don't know what happened, but she just relaxed and calmed down.
“Sorry.” She said, starting to cry. “I love you.”
I was pretty shocked, we never said that to each other before.
“I love you too.” I replied.
I was getting soaked from the shower so I got out, and rinsed the blood off my hands, then wrapped them in toilet paper. I knew Carolina would treat it with actual gauze and stuff after she got out of the shower, because she knew how to do all of that, and I was right, she wrapped her hands and mine.
Jaime walked into the bus, I was wondering where he had went.
“Hey guys.” He said.
“What happened to your hands?” He asked Carolina.
Carolina explained it as a 'stupid encounter' with a razor blade.
“Carolina, life is to be lived.” He told her.
“Yeah, I know, I totally agree.” She said, smiling at him.
“Which is why I got you this.” Jaime said, pulling out a box.
I was wondering what could possibly be in the box. Jewelry? Clothes? It was a pretty fancy box. She opened it and it was a puppy. Genius! Why didn't I think of that? You could tell she was happy, which made me happy.
“Jaime, tell me you poked holes in that box!” She told him.
“Of course!” He replied.
Carolina was wondering if the pup was a boy or a girl and Jaime said it was a girl. She then suggested we talk girl names, they both laughed and I smiled.
“Okay, come on, this is serious, puppy parents unite, girl names, let's go!” She said, pointing her finger to the back room. It took us an hour to think of the right name, but we got it, Honey-Lemon. We brought Honey-Lemon out to show the guys, and Vic was wondering where we got a puppy.
“Jaime.” She said.
Typical Jaime, not telling people he got a puppy.
“Jaime, do you have anything you want to say?” Vic asked him.
“Welcome to the family, Honey-Lemon!” Jaime said, coming up to her and cuddling her.

Then I thought to myself, 'I live with the best people.'
