Misadventures

Cause I've Broken Bones For You

Carolina's POV
“Jaime, you could have told us you were going to buy a dog.” Vic said.
“Correction, she's a puppy.” I said.
“Yeah, that.” He said.
“I was going to tell you, eventually.” Jaime told Vic.
“And when do you think that would be?” Vic asked him.
“Um, hey look! Tacos!” Jaime said, pointing out the window behind them.
Vic looked and Jaime made a run for it. I saw Vic jump onto Jaime's back.
“You ain't going nowhere!” Vic said.
I laughed as Jaime gave up falling to the ground.
“Oh, Tony, we need supplies for Honey-Lemon.” I said.
“What do you mean?” He asked.
“Bowls, dog food, a crate if she needs it.” I replied.
“Okay, I'll pay.” He said.
I was shocked, no way I was going to make him pay for all of that, we were both Honey-Lemon's parents.
“No, no, no!” I said. “We go dutch.”
He agreed to that. We couldn't call a cab so we had to have the driver of the bus drive us to the pet store.
“Thanks a lot.” I told the driver.
He didn't say anything to me, so I figured he didn't hear me.
“Okay, a leash, just in case she's a rabid creature when it's a full moon.” I said.
Tony laughed and said that was a great idea. After we bought all our supplies for Honey-Lemon we went back to the bus and went back to the site where the concert was supposed to be played.
“Thanks again.” I told the driver.
Again, he didn't say anything.
“Is he always that rude?” I asked Tony as we started walking away.
“He's just a grouchy old dude.” He replied.
We were in the front room when Vic got a call.
“Okay, uh-huh, yeah, I'll tell her.” Vic said, looking at me.
“Tell me what?” I asked.
“The manager wants you off the bus.” He said super fast.
I felt angry as fuck at this point.
“Tony, hold my puppy.” I said.
“But-” He started to hesitate.
“I said hold my puppy!” I told Tony once again.
“Mike, grab that pillow.” I said.
“Okay?” He said as a question.
“Now hold it up to you.” I told him.
“Oh, shit.” He said, as I came towards him, punching the pillow with all my strength.
“Internal bleeding, I feel it happening.” He said.
“Hold the pillow higher then!” I said, punching the pillow which was now at the height of Mike's chest.
After a minute or two I grabbed the pillow and screamed in it, I took my head out of the it and started crying.
“I'll pack my things.” I said, going into the back room, packing my things.
Tony came into the room and said he was really sorry and he had no idea.
“I want you to stay at my place.” He said.
“What?” I said in disbelief, walking over to him.
“Yeah, I've been thinking about it for a while, and I trust you to stay at my place.” He said.
“Even with a possible trouble-making puppy?” I asked.
He laughed.
“Yes, even with a trouble-making puppy.” He replied.
I leaned in and kissed him and finished packing. The next morning I got up early and told the guys my goodbyes.
“Okay guys, wish me luck.” I said.
“Good luck.” They all said.
“You'll be fine.” Tony said.
I gave him a hug, telling him I love him. Our hands were still wrapped in gauze from the cuts.
“Keep that on for a day or two.” I told him.
He nodded as I left.

Tony's POV
Vic was all over Jaime about getting a puppy.
“I was going to tell you eventually.” Jaime told Vic.
“And when do you think that would be?” Vic asked him.
Jaime distracted Vic, saying there were tacos, and pointed at the window behind him, I can't believe Vic really fell for it! Vic went after Jaime and got him.
“Tony, we need supplies for Honey-Lemon.” Carolina said.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“Bowls, dog food, a crate if she needs it.” She replied.
I guess I'm not the best pet parent there is, not knowing Honey-Lemon needed all that.
I offered to pay for everything but Carolina insisted we go dutch, that makes sense, because we're both pet parents here. We couldn't call a cab because they didn't allow pets so our driver drove the bus to the pet store. We bought everything a dog could need, shampoo, a leash, tick repellent, Honey-Lemon was good to go.
We drove back to the concert venue and when we were in the front room Vic got a call from our manager I guess. Vic told Carolina the manager wanted her off the bus. I was devastated. I couldn't imagine touring without her. She started to hand me Honey-Lemon.
“Tony, hold my puppy.” She said.
“But-” I started to say, thinking she'd do something irrational.
“I said hold my puppy!” She said again.
She told Mike to grab a pillow and put it against him, she basically beat the living crap out of him, then she grabbed the pillow from Mike and screamed in it. She took her head from the pillow and started crying.
“I'll pack my things.” She said, going into the back room.
“Vic, why does the manager want her off the bus?” I asked.
“Well first, you got her pregnant, then the miscarriage, which was hard on all of us I might add, her attempt on suicide, and the driver just complained on having to drive her to the pet store.” Vic replied.
“I can't believe this!” I said.
I went into the back room with Carolina and saw her packing her things.
“I'm sorry this is happening.” I said.
“I know, me too.” She replied.
“I didn't know.” I explained.
“I know, and if you did I know you would have told me.” She said.

After a moment of silence I told her something I don't think she was prepared to hear, that I wanted her to stay at my place, she was in shock. I trusted her, even with Honey-Lemon who could be super mischievous at this age, I knew Carolina well enough to know she could handle it. The next morning we had a concert, but it was also the morning Carolina would be leaving. We all said our goodbyes and Carolina suggested I leave my gauze wrapped around my hand for at least a day or two but she didn't know we had a concert in just a few hours.
