Misadventures

Have Mercy on Me

Carolina's POV
Tony was so excited that he told the world our news. I was sort of debating letting him do that, but it was good news, so I let him. Two months went by and we went to doctors visits regularly and they said everything looked fine. After a while I started to show.
“Oh great, I'm fat!” I said as I was eating string cheese.
Tony giggled.
“No, it's the baby, you know that.” He said.
“I know.” I said, looking down at my stomach. “I don't like you making me look bad.” I said to the baby.
Tony giggled again and I looked at him and smiled.
“Oh great.” He said.
“What?” I asked.
It was just Tony and I on the bus, the guys went to go get some beer and food.
“Nothing.” He said.
I gave him the evil eye.
“Okay,” He started, “I got a lot of hate mail, about you.”
“Oh.” I said. “Well, we'll just ignore them.”
“You can't stay in this bus forever. What happens when you go into labor?” He asked.
He had a point, I couldn't avoid the world.
“Are there some fans that are happy for us?” I asked.
“Some, not many.” He replied.
I moaned and plopped to the couch, continuing to eat my string cheese. I gasped and remembered we had to be at a doctors appointment.
“What is it?” Tony asked.
“Doctors appointment, twenty minutes, quick, let's go!” I said, rushing out of the tour bus, hoping no fans saw me. Tony and I had already called a cab before-hand. As we started walking towards the cab I heard a girl call me a slut, and Tony told me to ignore her. When we went to the doctors office they said they tried to call us and the doctor was out sick, so we had to cancel. Here we go again, call a cab, face the crowd, and hope I don't get hated on. I didn't get called any names on the way back. When we got back to the bus, I had a call from my mom. I had a new phone, so I don't know how she got my number. I went into the back spare room, that was mainly for me, but every once in a while I'd ask Tony to join me. I called my mom back.
“Hey.” She said.
“Do you mean that sincerely?” I asked.
“Yes.” She replied.
I looked down, tearing up.
“So where are you?” She asked.
“Right now, I'm in Arizona.” I replied.
“What do you mean right now?” She asked.
I didn't want to give her too much detail and tell her I was touring with Pierce The Veil.
“I'm traveling.” I said.
“Oh.” She said calmly.
“And how are you?” I asked.
“Good,” She started, “I'm in rehab, and getting better.”
“Great, I'm glad you're getting help.” I replied.
“Well, I have to go.” She said.
“Yeah, me too.” I said.
“I love you.” She said.
I felt like she meant it this time.
“I love you too.” I replied.
I went into the front room and told Tony I was going to bed.
“Okay.” Tony started.
Tony slept with me every night ever since he found out I was pregnant.
“I'll be there soon.” He said.
I smiled at him and went to bed. About an hour later he came to bed and I fell asleep. It was around midnight I felt a piercing pain in my stomach and had to wake Tony up. He insisted we go to the emergency room, just in case something was wrong with the baby. We called an ambulance and Tony got in with me, the doctors noticed I started to bleed, and I started to worry.
“Tony.” I said, softly, crying, fearing the worst would happen.
He grabbed my hand.

Tony's POV
I couldn't believe that this was happening! I had to share it on every form of social media, with Carolina's permission of course. We went to doctors appointments in California, because I wanted to surprise her and tell her that's where she would be living, with me. When she started showing she was worried she was fat. I laughed.
“No, it's the baby, you know that.” I said, reassuring her.
“I know.” She said. Then blamed the baby for making her look bad.
I laughed and she looked at me and smiled.
When I checked my inbox on all my social media it was mostly haters hating on Carolina.
“Oh great.” I said with a sort of sarcastic voice.
She asked what was going on.
“Nothing.” I replied.
She gave me her evil eye. I always fell victim to her evil eye, it scared the heck out of me.
“Okay, I got a lot of hate mail, about you.” I said.
“Oh.” She said, sounding sort of sad. “Well, we'll just ignore them.”
I told her that she couldn't avoid going outside, especially when she goes into labor. She asked if there were any fans that were happy for us.
“Some, not many.” I replied.
She moaned and plopped onto the couch, eating her string cheese, when I heard her gasp.
“What is it?” I asked.
She said we had a doctors appointment in twenty minutes. I called a cab when we were on the bus, as soon as we got ready we went outside and headed to the cab. I heard a girl call Carolina a slut.
“Ignore them” I said.
When we got to the doctors office we had to cancel our appointment because the doctor was sick. They said they tried to call us, but I guess we were busy. We had to call another cab, and as soon as we got back to the bus, Carolina went to the back room, and I hung out with the guys.
“So, how did the doctors appointment go?” Jaime asked.
“There was no doctors appointment, they canceled.” I replied.
“Dang man, and I wanted pictures and to see what gender the baby would be.” Mike said.
“Me too, I'm the father!” I said.
We watched some TV for a while and ate some food, and decided to practice for our next show, when Carolina came out of the room.
“I'm going to bed.” She said.
“Okay.” I replied.
Ever since I found out she was pregnant I've slept with her every night, just to make sure everything is okay. The guys and I practiced a few new songs since we had just come out with a new album, and after a while I decided to go to bed. At around midnight Carolina woke me up saying her stomach hurt.
“We should go to the emergency room, just in case it's the baby.” I said.
“Okay.” She replied.
I really hoped nothing was wrong with the baby, but I called an ambulance and they came within five minutes. When Carolina got on the stretcher, the doctors and I noticed that she was bleeding, you could tell she started to worry.
“Tony.” She said, starting to cry.

I grabbed her hand and held on tight.
