Today I Saw the Whole World

As She Stole My Only View...

Carolina's POV
It was time to go back home. I waited for my mom's car in the parking lot in fear, knowing she'd be mad at my torn skirt, and at my cuts. I was shivering in the cold, then as my mom pulled up, I put the piece of fabric in my skirt pocket and I quickly opened the car door and sat down in the warmth of the car. “So,” my mom started, “how was it?” she asked. “It was good.” I said, trying not to give her any details, about the signing, about Tony, about anything. “So good you had to tear off part of your skirt to show your cuts?” she asked. I knew it was going to start, I knew I'd have to deal with her and her complaints, not being completely satisfied with me. I blocked her out, with the thought of the concert, the songs, and Tony smiling at me. I'm still wondering if that really happened. I felt the piece of fabric in my pocket, and smiled, knowing that there was still good people out there. As we got home, I immediately went to my room, to be alone and to think about everything. I played every song that was played at the concert. Then I heard a knock on my door. “I'm asleep,” I said sarcastically. My mom came in. “Are you looking at schools?” She asked. Of course, her dream, not mine. For me to go to a college for something in design, which I would be good in because I'm creative, but I don't want to go to school, I barely made it through high school. I wanted to have fun, and travel, and see the world. “No, I'm listening to my music.” I replied. She scoffed, “Haven't you listened to enough music tonight?” she asked. “You can never have too much music.” I replied. She shook her head and slammed the door. I got out of my clothes and got into my pajamas then took the piece of denim fabric out of my skirt and put it in my bedside table. I hooked up my phone to the charger so it would be fully charged in the morning, then I heard my phone ring, it was a different area code, and an unfamiliar number, but I answered it anyways.
“Hello?” I answered.
“Is this Carolina?” Some male voice asked.
“Yes, who is this?” I replied.
“This is Tony, Tony Perry.” Tony replied. I was in so much shock I almost dropped my phone. “Are you there?” He asked.
“Y-yeah, I'm just, how did you get my number?” I asked.
“Security.” he replied.
“Oh,” I said, “so why are you calling me?” I asked.
“I want to help you, I think there's something special about you, but I don't know exactly what it is.” He said.
“Okay.” I said.
“Okay, you'll let me help you?” Tony asked.
“Yeah, why not? I need a friend anyway.” I replied. He sounded a little down after that.
“Oh, okay, well, I'll talk to you soon, text me tomorrow, I'd really like to meet up with you, we're in Idaho for a week.” He said.
“Okay, thanks Tony.” I said.
“No problem.” He replied. We hung up and I went to sleep, and could only dream of what would happen next.

Tony's POV

I started my search for this girl, who I thought was secretly suffering, but desperately wanting help, and I wanted to help her. But how could I find her? I didn't even have a picture of her or know her name. I was wondering if we could look through tickets or something, anything to find her. After about two hours of trying to find this unknown girl, I went back to the bus with a sad face.
“Hey Tony, why the sad face?” asked Jaime.
“I couldn't find her.” I replied.
“I'm sorry, man.” Jaime replied.
“Maybe it's for the best,” Vic started to say, “I mean, she ripped of part of her skirt to reveal her cuts and had her sign her skirt? I mean, what is that?” he said. I didn't want to deal with Vic. Then the security guy, I forgot his name, came in and said,
“I know which girl you're talking about.” I got excited and ran up to him,
“What's her name? Where can I find her? Do you have her number?” I asked with excitement. “Calm down, Tony,” he said, “Her name is Carolina, and here's her number,” he said, showing me her FaceBook page.
“Great!” I said. “Wait, how do you know her?” I asked.
“I don't know her, I know her mom.” I looked at him a little weird, but continued to call Carolina. I thought, 'What a beautiful name.' She answered and sounded a little shocked, but we had a nice conversation anyways. After we hung up I was a little down because she had wanted to be friends. I guess I was okay with that, but I'd like to be with her, just in case she needs me. I came out from my bunk and everyone but Mike and Jaime were looking at me, Vic was asleep in his bunk.
“What?” I asked.
“Something went wrong didn't it?” Mike asked.
“No, it's all good,” I replied.
“Dude, if Vic finds out that something didn't go well during that call, he's gonna go off saying 'I told you so' and all that annoying stuff, trust me, I've lived with it.” Mike said.
“Well that's great.” I said.
“So what happened man?” Jaime asked. So I told them how Carolina just wanted to be friends. “Maybe that's a good place to start.” Jaime said.
“Yeah,” I started to say, “I'm gonna go to bed, night guys.” And as I started to get ready for bed I heard Vic's voice softly say “I told you so.” I ignored him, and went to bed.
