Today I Saw the Whole World

May I Never Leave

Carolina's POV
It was the night after Tony called, and I wanted to text him a place to meet. But where? Somewhere far. A park? Yeah, that might work. My mom and I never go to parks, so she would never suspect anything, I'd just tell her I'm taking a walk. I wore white dress with black floral print, and black heels, and black tights. I didn't want to go all out, I just wanted to feel beautiful, or at least pretty in the eyes of someone like Tony, even though I said I wanted to be friends, that's not really true, I'd love to be with him.
“Mom,” I said.
“Yeah?” She replied, looking up at me, then looking shocked seeing how dressed up I was.
“I'm going for a walk,” I said.
“That's some walk you're going on,” she said.
“Mom, it's hot outside!” I exclaimed.
“Okay,” she said, shaking her head.
I walked out the door and text Tony which park to meet me at. I just realized I had to walk there, in heels. At least it was close, like a mile. When I got there, I saw Tony sitting at a bench, he saw me, and stood up pretty quick and ran to me, I was pretty dehydrated.
“Carolina, did you walk all this way?” he asked.
“I might have.” I replied in a weak voice, shaking as he was holding me.
He took off my heels and carried me to the bench he was sitting at and gave me a drink of cold water, and I basically gulped the whole thing down.
“Thank you,” I said.
“So, why did you walk all this way?” he asked.
“I told my mom I was going for a walk,” I said.
“So you're just living up to your word?” he asked.
“No,” I started, “She doesn't know I'm here, or meeting up with you.” I replied.
“Oh.” Tony said softly. “I bet your feet hurt, let me rub them for you.” He said.
“What? No!” I said.
He grabbed my feet and started rubbing them and it felt good, I mean after walking a mile in heels, yeah, I needed that.
“There you are!” I heard a familiar voice, it was my mom. “Who is this guy? And what is he doing massaging your feet?” My mom asked furiously. “You are in big trouble, young lady!” she said.
I looked at Tony, jumped off the bench, grabbed my heels, took a hold of Tony's hand, and ran.
“What are we doing?” Tony asked.
“Run!” I said. “Just run!” I started to laugh and cry.

Tony's POV
I got a text from Carolina telling me to meet her at a certain park, so I drove there in a taxi. I waited for a good 45 minutes to an hour to see her, I was starting to think she wouldn't come, then I saw her come around the corner in a beautiful dress, but she was in heels, I had to ask myself, did she walk all the way here? I immediately stood up and went to help her. After helping her to the bench I was sitting at I gave her a drink of cold water, she drank the whole thing, she must have been really thirsty. I offered to rub her feet but she said no, I rubbed them anyways because I can't imagine what it would be like to walk a long way and not want to rub your feet. I could tell she liked it. Then as I was rubbing her feet we both heard a voice say “There you are!” I had no idea who this person was, but Carolina looked at this person with fear and anger, after the woman said Carolina was in trouble, Carolina jumped off the bench, grabbed her heels, and my hand, and ran.
“What are we doing?” I asked.
“Run! Just run!” She said as she was laughing and crying.

It's like she was crying because she'd never been by herself, but she was laughing because she felt free from this person.
