Today I Saw the Whole World

Darling, You'll be Okay

Carolina's POV
I think it was safe to say my family loved me, but sometimes it just didn't feel like it, like when my mom wouldn't listen to me when I'd tell her not to drink. I basically play the role of mother here, it's a good thing I have my music. If only I could actually see Pierce The Veil in concert, and meet them, that would be awesome.
“Carolina?” My mom asked as she came into my room. “Yeah?” I replied. “I'm going out for a while,” she said. “Okay.” I said. As soon as I heard the door shut I blasted my music and contemplated cutting, looking at the blade with tears building up in my eyes, thinking one of the biggest reasons I'm living is for four guys probably who don't know I exist.
The thought of this hurt, so I cut, not my wrist, but my thigh, because I didn't want my mom to notice when she came home. It was my first time cutting in four years. It hurt, but felt better than all the emotional pain I'd ever gone through. After cutting a few deep cuts, I wrapped them up, and wore some long pajama bottoms to bed.
I heard the front door open and shut at one o'clock in the morning. It was my mom. All I could think was 'Great, she's home at one in the morning, wonder what she was doing.' Once again playing the role of the mom.
I woke up late the next morning and my mom had a surprise for me, I was only half awake, but I still wondered what it was. “Here,” she said, as she handed me a piece of paper. “What is it?” I asked. “Look,” she said. I forced myself to wake up a little bit more, and saw what it was. A ticket to a Pierce The Veil concert! Just for me of course, since I have no friends, and no one in my family would want to go. “Wow! Thanks, mom!” I said. “Is that why you were out so late last night?” I asked. “No,” she replied. There was an awkward silence between us. “Well thanks, I'm going to listen to some Pierce The Veil,” I said.
I was counting down the days till the concert, and the night before the concert, I had a dream where I met Tony Perry, and he was so sweet. I woke up the next morning with no expectations, because life doesn't work like that, you don't have a dream and it come true, that doesn't happen. But today was the day, the day of the concert! I was so excited! Excited to scream all the lyrics, and mosh, and hopefully buy band merch!
It was time for the concert, and as I stood there in the crowd, they started playing one of their new, and one of my favorite songs, Today I Saw the Whole World. I knew every word to the song, so I screamed them at the top of my lungs, like everyone else in the crowd. They played almost every song from Misadventures and their classics, including Hold on Till May.
It was the best time of my life, and for a few hours, I escaped my corrupt world. No neglect and trying to tell mom what to do and deal with her being drunk. No lies that were right in front of my face. Just me, people like me, and the people who saved me.

After the concert was over I decided to try to meet the band. It was a long shot, but you never know. I was with all the other bands where the bands merchwas, and I heard that the band was doing a signing. I had to go, I just had to. I was in line for the signing, and I was next up in line, when I realized, I had nothing for them to sign! It was my turn and I walked up, and the band looked at me and asked how I was doing. “Good.” I replied. “Um,” I started to rip off part of my jean skirt, and tore off a piece of fabric long enough for the whole band to sign, I looked down, embarrassed that they could see my fresh cuts, and I looked back at the other fans, knowing they saw, “could you sign this for me?” I asked.
“Sure.” Vic said. I looked at Tony, thinking about the dream I had last night, and he was looking at my thigh, then his turn came, and he signed the piece of fabric with a permanent marker. “Darling, you'll be okay.” with his name signed. I started walking away, with tears in my eyes, and looked back, clenching the denim in my hands, and Tony was looking at me, then smiled. I quickly looked away. Did I imagine this? I had to have. Dreams don't come true.

Tony's POV
After a few days of touring, it was time to go to Idaho. An unfamiliar state, but we've been there before. We had just released our new album 'Misadventures', it's got some pretty good guitar solo's, if I do say so myself. The day of the concert we played most of the new songs from Misadventures and of course, Hold on Till May.
What was different was after the concert. We encountered a girl who seems more than nervous but at the same time calm to see us. She came up for the signing, but it seemed she forgot to get something to sign, I was going to offer her an album, but she started ripping at her jean skirt. I was shocked that she ripped it off. She asked Vic if we could sign it, and we were more than happy to. We all noticed something as soon as she ripped of the denim fabric off her skirt, she had fresh cuts, from I'd say a day or two ago. When it came my turn to sign, I wrote “Darling, you'll be okay,” and signed my name. As she started walking away more fans came up, and started asking about her and calling her a freak, we ignored them, but I looked at her walk away, and I saw her look back at me, so I smiled. She quickly looked back. I wondered why she acted this way, and for some crazy reason, I wanted to go out of my way to help her.
We finished signing and went back to the tour bus. “Guys,” I said. “Yeah?” Vic said. “Remember that girl, who tore off the piece of her skirt?” I asked. “Oh, yeah,” Vic said with a chuckle. “I want to find her, and I want to help her.” I said. Mike was taking a drink of water and I heard him choke a little bit when I told them this. “Tony, she's a fan. We can't do anything for them except play music.” Vic said. Jaime interrupted, “That's not true, I mean yeah, these fans listen to music because it's a huge part of them, but Vic, you're the one who said it, who wrote it.” Vic looked confused. “Wrote what?” Vic said. “In 'Hell Above', What's the difference when you beg for love?” Jaime replied.

Vic paused for a second. “Okay, you've proven your point, but Tony, if you get hurt, don't say I didn't warn you.” I was a little confused, how could I get hurt?
