Coming Home

Noortje’s POV

Today was the day that we got to bring Kalila home. Tony and I were already so tired from the first nights with Kalila. She didn’t cry often, but when she did it would take ages for her to calm down. Being first time parents was very difficult. I didn’t exactly know what Kalila often wanted, and neither did Tony. So we’d start fighting about what it, end up both being wrong, and then I’d have to breastfeed her. Kalila really was a hungry baby and breastfeeding actually hurt. It was like she was pinching me with her mouth. But at least it got rid of the pressure that built up.

Tony had strapped Kalila into her car seat and put her on the back seat while we both got in the front. He was so delighted and excited to be a father. And I didn’t mind, it actually meant that he didn’t mind going to the crying baby at night. He loved the little girl so much already. And as creepy as that sounds if taken out of context, it was really adorable. Having this baby with Tony was never a mistake; he even started talking about making brothers and sisters for Kalila, but I told him to calm down and that we would first deal with one baby and see if we can actually handle it.

However, there had been something else I had been thinking about a lot. Ever since my birthday, when Tony told me he had been thinking about marriage a lot, I had been going over the idea. And I actually didn’t hate the idea of marrying him, quite the opposite, actually. Thinking about it more, made me want him propose to me even more. But he probably wasn’t going to do it any time soon. If I had just told him I liked the idea when he asked me about it, I wouldn’t have been so conflicted right now. At least I knew Tony was mine, and I was his, but marriage would be that extra step.

“Hey, you ok?” Tony took hold of my hand as he took the keys out of the ignition.

I looked around to see we were in the garage. So I had basically zoned out the entire ride. Great. Best girlfriend and mother ever. I could always use being tired as an excuse for daydreaming.

“Yeah,” I nodded and gave his hand a squeeze, Kalila gurgling in the background, “just tired and nervous.”

“Don’t worry, I told Vic not to invite too many people,” he referred to the Welcoming Party upstairs. Vic had insisted that we have a party for our friends to congratulate us and meet Kalila. Tony and I were hesitant at first, but after some convincing, we agreed. Apparently Vic had some surprises for us.

I let go off his hand and undid my seatbelt, “I just hope Kalila won’t be too overwhelmed… Oh god, Bailey’s there too. What are we going to do?”

Tony chuckled and opened the car door, “stop worrying. We’ll start off with Bailey; she will probably be very careful. Then, we will do all the meeting the other people stuff.”

“Ok, yeah,” I nodded and got out of the car, “but you’re taking Kalila. If anything happens, you are the one responsible.”

Tony let out another breathy laugh and went to get the car seat with our baby in it. He also took the overnight bag, put it over his shoulder, and grabbed my hand before we walked to the door that entered the house. Just when I thought he was going to open it, he stopped and listened. There were quite a lot of voices.

“Maybe we should not do this…” he started walking backwards, “she’s too precious and innocent for this. I don’t think it’s a good idea.”

I pulled him back, “no, now we are going inside. They probably saw us arrive anyway.”

“But, baby!” He whined.

“I’m not the baby here, Kalila is,” I proceeded to open the door to where to group of people was waiting for us. Immediately there was scuttling of paws on the floor and Bailey was jumping all over me. This seemed to catch the attention of everybody else. Tony was just a couple steps behind me, and I calmed down the hyper dog before looking up as seeing who was here. The usual people, such as Jaime, Mike, Vic, Tony’s mom, and Isabel were here; but there were also people here that I hadn’t expected at all. Along with the people I saw on a daily basis, I also saw Austin, Ties, Ewout, and my mom. My mom was actually here and she actually seemed happy to be here. She even smiled when she made eye contact with me. What was going on?!

Bailey was finally done with me and went to Tony, however she realised something was going on. She wasn’t as jumpy and excited as she normally was around him. Instead, she tried to see what was in the car seat by trying to climb up his body. Tony laughed at her attempt and put down the seat so Bailey could see it. She started sniffing the small body and kept looking at everybody to see if they could explain what the creature in the weird contraption was. But everybody just laughed and awed at how cute it was. Bailey kept sniffing, but then suddenly Kalila started making discomforted noises before breaking out into a half cry; it wasn’t the screech she did when she was hungry or needed a diaper change, but she also wasn’t comfortable. Bailey looked up and Tony and started whining, telling him to go tend to the baby and make it happy again. I could tell that Bailey was definitely going to be very protective over this child.

“Now it’s my turn!” Ties pushed through the crowd, “I want to see my niece!” He ran up to Tony, who had gotten Kailia out of her seat, “oh my god. She’s so cute! Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. So adorbs!”

“Ties, your gay is showing, and it’s on max setting right now,” I laughed, causing some other people to chuckle as well.

“Oh shut up and let me have my moment.”

I rolled my eyes and turned to my brother, giving him a hug before letting him stand next to his over joyful husband; you would nearly think he was the father. Next I went up to Austin, I hadn’t seen him since he stayed with me while Tony went back on tour to get his stuff. I hugged him as well, and he wrapped his large arms around me.

“Am I still very colorful?” He asked me with a giggle.

I hit his chest, “shut up. You can’t make fun of me for that!”

“I will always make fun of you for that.”

I also gave Jaime, Vic, Mike, Isabel, and Claudia a hug, just like I normally would do. But I was also stalling so I wouldn’t have to face my mom. I really didn’t know why she was here and I didn’t want her to hurt any of the people here, especially Kalila.

Ewout caught me looking at her and whispered in my ear, “she wanted to come, even though dad was against it.”

“Ok,” I mumbled and walked away from my mom and instead went to Tony. I took Kalila from him and went back to my mom. She was about to say something to me, but handed her the baby instead. I didn’t want to hear her apologies or pleads. No, I wasn’t going to forgive her or forget about anything she did, but I was going change the way we acted around each other. If she actually came here on her own free will, against my dad, she must have actually wanted to be here.

She looked down at the baby and smiled, “she looks a lot like you when you were a baby, except for the hair color. You better make sure you treat her a lot better than I treated you.”

“I will.”

Notes

So that was the last chapter. How do you guys feel about it? Tony and Noortje now have a daughter, Kalila. Noortje's mom has actually started being nice to Noortje. So, I consider it a pretty happy ending.

Now all that still has to come is the two epilogues and this story will officially be over! Wow... I might start a new story, a have an idea, but I'm not sure I'll be able to keep up four stories at one time (two on the ATL site, one collab on here, plus a possible other one). If I decided to do it, I will inform you guys. But now this will have to do.

I hope you guys enjoyed this story so far. It's definitely had it's ups and down, and my original plan was to have this go on for a lot longer, but I believe this is a good place to stop. I don't want my writing to get any worse.

Thank you guys for reading this.

@Nickyvlxx
You still have one epilogue to go ;) but it's still in progress, so now you also have to wait patiently :P
Good luck with the ATL stories, by the way, I hope they don't bore you.

@aweirdkindofyellow
Wow, someone's been keeping busy ;) but don't push yourself, if you don't have time, you don't have time. I mean you're doing 3 at once! That's amazing! Just let me know when you've posted the new one! ;*

@Thebandobsessedgirlwithnolife
Yep, it was my first, and you can definitely tell by how badly The New Member is written at the very beginning. And I'm thinking of starting a new story, I have an idea, but I already have three stories going on (two on the ATL website and the collaborative story I'm writing on here) so I'll have to see when I can write it. I first want to plan it out completely, so it might take a while.

@aweirdkindofyellow
That was your first?! Holy! I can't wait for you to write more then! You did an amazing job! <33
