The New Family Member

Epilogue 1

Noortje’s POV

We were back on the road again. It was the first tour we had since I had given birth. Yes, that meant that I decided to continue playing in PTV and that our new addition was joining along. Kalila was now nearly one year old, and she was the happiest baby anybody could wish for. She didn’t mind the constant travelling around and loved meeting new people. You could basically say her personality was starting to look more like mine, while she physically resembled Tony more and more day by day. We loved her to bits and she was definitely one of the best decisions we had ever made.

It was adorable how Tony would do stuff with Kalila. After playing and lots of giggling, they would often fall asleep on the couch in the bus, or the one provided in the dressing rooms. Tony would pass out completely for a long time, but Kalila had a tendency to wake up way before him. She would be wrapped in one of her blankets, hugged tightly to Tony’s chest, but because his grip loosened as the nap progressed, she would lift herself up a bit on her tummy and look around. Often she would wake him up by either grabbing his mouth or hitting on his chest. To say Tony and I were sleep deprived, was and understatement, but we had sort of gotten used to it. The lack of sex, though, had taken us much longer to adjust to, surprisingly. You don’t really realise it until you get very horny and want to get it on, but you keep getting interrupted by a crying baby.

And then there was the fact that somebody had to take care of her while we were on stage. Normally it would all go well, Tony and I would tire her out before we played a show, and she’d be asleep when we finished. However, sometimes this method didn’t really work, especially if we switched time zones. You see, babies don’t really get the concept of feeding at different times because of different time zones, and sometimes we’d forget that. So, normally we would have bottles ready, but I’ve had to rush off stage before to feed her. To say those moments were awkward, was also an understatement. Feeding her could take quite a while, and the set list sometimes had to be switched around so they could play a couple of songs without me.

Oh, and don’t let me forget that time we had to rush to the hospital. The bus had been changed to Tony, I, and Kalila could sleep in a large bed that was where the back lounge used to be, and it actually went really well. But, one night Kalila just wouldn’t stop crying. She was screaming and we just couldn’t find out what it was… until Tony picked her up to walk around for a bit and lull her to sleep. He noticed that she had a fever, and once we measured it with a thermometer, we realised it was actually a really, really high temperature. We were driving and on the road at that time, so Tony rushed to the bus driver while I was scrambling around to find some stuff we would have to take with us. Let’s just say walking around in the bus with a wailing baby in the middle of the night wasn’t such a good idea. Everybody woke up and gave us angry glares since it wasn’t the first time Kalila had woken them up. However, when they noticed it was pretty seriously, everybody actually started panicking. Luckily, though, we were able to continue touring and were only a bit late for the next show. The doctor had given us antibiotics, and Kalila slowly got better. It was pretty common for babies to get sick like that.

And now, that leaves me what was going at this point of time. We had finished playing a show and were walking back to the bus. Tony was carrying a sleeping Kalila and was holding my hand tightly so we wouldn’t lose each other in the crowd of fans-

Wait. Hang on, let me go back to the past again. I totally forgot to mention how the fans reacted a while after. I already told you guys they were freaking out when they found out, but that’s all. They were all so happy and were glad that ‘their ship had sailed’. Actually, they thought we were one of the best couples in this industry/genre. Even new fans were happy to hear Tony and I were together. They might have missed the whole era before Tony and I were public, but it still got them excited. The only weird thing now was that fans often called Tony and I their mom and dad, but it was actually pretty funny. Slowly but surely you get used to the weird things fans tell you.

Ok, so back to what I was saying before. We were walking back to the bus, Tony was holding Kalila and my hand, bla bla bla. Vic was busy pushing through the crowd so he could stand at the very front to sign stuff. We were all going to sign stuff, actually. It would be very rude to just ignore your supporters when there is such a large crowd of them. I could see so many kids filming so they could capture the moment of them meeting us, and it made me smile. We meant to much to these people without knowing them personally, and that’s why I tried to meet everybody I could.

Eventually, I lost Tony and my daughter, but continued to greet everybody; I would find them back later. After another 10 or so people, I saw Tony hand Kalila over to Mike, which was pretty weird, and then walk over to me. Kalila and Mike had a strange relationship. No, I don’t mean anything creepy with that, but it was actually pretty ironic because Mike was the one I couldn’t stop fighting with while I was pregnant. Kalila would either love and adore Mike, or she would cry as soon as she was handed over to him; she was fine with everybody else, but there was just something about Mike that made Kalila act weird.

Tony was standing pretty close to me and looked out at the big crowd of people, “ok, so. I wasn’t planning on doing this,” he was actually talking loud so everybody could hear him, something he would never do, “but, this girl just asked me, so I thought I’d ask you.” She girl he was referring to gasped and I was so confused as to what was going on. All I really cared about at the moment was the fact that Kalila was actually fine in Mike’s arms, like she already knew what was going to happen.

“Ok, so,” Tony started again and licked his lips and nervous habit he and Kalila had started a couple of months ago, “I’ve had this for just over a year now, but I just never found the right moment. I actually wasn’t planning on doing this now, but,” he got down on his knee and pulled out a box with a beautiful simple diamond ring. My eyes went wide. He was actually doing this, “I’m not good at public speaking, so I’ll just ask you: Will you marry me?”

The kids started screaming and I could hear Kalila starting to bawl her eyes out. For having parents that played in a post-hardcore band, she really didn’t like loud noises. But right now she was going to be fine with Mike… wait, Mike handed her to Jaime and soon as she started crying. Wow.

I nodded like crazy, and pulled him up to kiss him. We both smiled widely into the kiss, until Tony suddenly realised he still had to put the ring on my finger, earning a chuckle from me. I couldn’t believe this was actually happening. After he put the ring on, a surprising perfect fit, I cupped his cheeks again and kissed him once more.

I had actually wanted this for a while, and Tony wanted it for even longer, but now it was actually happening. We already had the perfect little family, and now we were also getting married. This couldn’t get any better.

Notes

I wasn't planning on writing this for another while, but I actually had some inspiration. I actually wrote in under an hour... This epilogue is basically a summary of all the ideas I still had for this story, but knew it wouldn't be enough to actually write chapters for. Nothing important was going to happen, and just filler chapters wouldn't be interesting.

Anyway, the next epilogue will be more like an actual epilogue, because it will be set further into the future, and not just a couple of months. So get prepared for the actual ending of this story. It will probably take a bit longer for that one to get written and posted. but in the mean time, you can always check out the new story that I've started writing with Nickyvlxx. We've already got a couple of chapters up, so, if you haven't yet, go check it out. Sorry if this seems like self advertisement on my own story, but I honestly feel like some of you might like it, because you apparently liked this one (which I can't imagine).

@Nickyvlxx
You still have one epilogue to go ;) but it's still in progress, so now you also have to wait patiently :P
Good luck with the ATL stories, by the way, I hope they don't bore you.

YASS I FINISHED IT I loved it a lot darling ♡ i will move on to ur atl stories now

@aweirdkindofyellow
Wow, someone's been keeping busy ;) but don't push yourself, if you don't have time, you don't have time. I mean you're doing 3 at once! That's amazing! Just let me know when you've posted the new one! ;*

@Thebandobsessedgirlwithnolife
Yep, it was my first, and you can definitely tell by how badly The New Member is written at the very beginning. And I'm thinking of starting a new story, I have an idea, but I already have three stories going on (two on the ATL website and the collaborative story I'm writing on here) so I'll have to see when I can write it. I first want to plan it out completely, so it might take a while.

@aweirdkindofyellow
That was your first?! Holy! I can't wait for you to write more then! You did an amazing job! <33
