Chapter 27

I woke up the next morning to find Jaime still asleep next to me. I looked at our bodies, my leg draped over his legs, his arms around me, keeping me in. I started to admire his face when he began to blink his eyes open.

‘Good morning.’ I said as I smiled up to him. He looked in my direction before a small smile settled on his face.

‘Good morning Stel.’ He said, pulling me in closer. I snuggled into his side and smiled, taking in a big breath, slightly smelling his cologne which was wearing off.

‘Stella, it’s time to get up!’ Hannah said as she walked through the door. She stopped when both Jaime and I looked up at her. ‘Oh, hello Jaime. It’s nice to see you.’ She said with a quick smile.

‘Good morning Hannah.’ I replied as she looked at me.

‘Breakfast will be ready in a minute. Be down soon.’ She replied before walking out the door again, closing it behind her.

‘Well, I am starved. I need some food, are you coming?’ I said, looking up to Jaime.

‘Of course.’ He said looking back to me. He moved his arm from me and allowed me to move off the bed. I stretched, cracking my bones before finding some pants and putting them on.

Jaime stood by the bed and waited for me before we both walked out into the hallway. We walked down the stairs side-by-side but I walked into the kitchen before Jaime. He walked in after me and took a seat at the table, across from my father.

‘Nice to see you again Jaime.’ Dad said as he lowered his paper just a little bit.

‘Nice to see you too sir.’ Jaime said as he smiled.

‘Jaime, do you want some toast?’ I asked, bringing Jaime out of an uncomfortable stare. He nodded his head and I placed to pieces of bread in the toaster.

I walked to the fridge and grabbed out the butter and some toppings and placed them in front of Jaime. Once I turned around, the toast popped and I walked over and put them on a plate and presented them to Jaime before walking back over to the fridge and grabbing out myself some milk. I grabbed my cereal and a bowl and made my way back to the table.

I poured the cereal in before the milk before I began eating. It was an awkward silence before Jaime excused himself. I looked over to Hannah and Dad who looked curious.

‘Okay, so I was having a bad night, he came over and looked after me. Nothing happened and no, we aren’t together. I really don’t want to be in a relationship like this.’ I said, pointing to my stomach.

‘Is the baby okay?’ Hannah asked.

‘Yeah, that wasn’t the problem. Um, there are these girls at school who are picking on me. I mean, I can tolerate them but I think because I am so god damn emotional all the time, it got to me.’ I replied.

‘Do you want me to talk to the school?’ Dad questioned.

‘No, I can handle a bunch of barbies.’ I replied, making them laugh.

‘Hey Stel, I am gonna head home for a sec and I’ll be back to pick you up. Okay.’ Jaime said when he entered the room again.

‘That’s okay. I will see you soon.’ I said, looking to him from the table. He waved to everyone before showing himself out.

I excused myself once I had finished my cereal and walked to out the kitchen, up the stairs and into my room. Considering I had an hour shower last night, I didn’t think I needed one this morning.

I walked over to my drawers and picked out one of my tighter tops. I saw that it was my Of Mice and Men top and I smiled thinking about Mum and Sarah as well as Austin and Winter. I do miss them.

I put it on before I grabbed my pregnancy pants. They were so comfortable that I am not going to even complain about how big they make my bum look. I smiled at my image which I could see in the mirror before I grabbed my bag and phone and walked back to the living room.
I turned my phone on and the amount of texts I had received from Kellin, Tony, Brendon, even Vic was outstanding. I quickly skim read them before I saw that I had a message from Sarah.

Sarah: Dear Stel, I miss you so much! I wish I was with you through this hard time. I just wanted to know when the due date for the baby was. I don’t think you mentioned that to me. Haha, well, I hope everything is going good and the morning sickness isn’t giving you anymore trouble. I love you.

Stel: I have an appointment today at 4pm so I will let you know the date; they should remind me. Morning sickness is eased off a bit. I had some the other day and that was awful. It was my first day back to school. That was actually yesterday. You aren’t going to believe who started messing with me. I love you too. Missing you like mad!

Sarah: it’s not Zack and Jack again is it? Because I swear to god.

Stel: no, of course not. It is Katelyn, Kayla and Stacey. They told me that no one liked me and that I was better off dead. I was so foolish to believe her. Ugh, today will be fun though, she is going to tell the whole school that I am pregnant. Which, doesn’t bother me.

Sarah: I swear I am going to kill them when I get back. Ugh, they make me so angry. Everyone loves you and as much as we don’t talk at the moment as much, I still know everything that is going on. I have my eyes back home.

Stel: Well, I don’t blame Vic from telling you a bunch of stuff. Haha. Well, I better get going. Jaime is here to pick me up. I love you Sarah. I’ll call you later.

Sarah: I will be expecting that call. Oh and call your mother, she worries. Ahahah. I love you Stella!

I locked my phone and got up from the couch that I had seated myself on. I saw Dad coming down the stairs with a smile. I walked over to him and he looked at me, frown on his face.
‘Isn’t that a bit too revealing?’ He questioned.

‘No, not if the three barbies are going to tell the school.’ I replied, smile on my face. He nodded and accepted my cause before kissing my forehead and walking away.

‘Have a good day. I will pick you up after and we will take our trip to see your little bundle of joy.’ Dad said before walking into the kitchen. I yelled a goodbye to both of them before I walked out the door to see Jaime waiting for me.

I walked to the front of the car to see it was occupied by Vic who grinned at me. I frowned and walked to the back door, opening it to see Tony and Kellin seated there. I hopped in and buckled up before he drove off.

It was quiet until Tony spoke up.

‘You scared the crap out of us Stella!’ He said as he hugged me from the side. I smiled to him and started to explain.

‘Those three bitches who run the school started on me and Stacey messaged me last night telling me…’

‘We know, Jaime told us. He explained. Because, since you weren’t answering your phone, we asked Jaime, since he went to yours right after the movie.’ Kellin explained.

‘I’m sorry guys. I was scared about the well-being for bub.’ I said looking at them.

‘What have we told you Stel, we have your back.’ Vic said from the front seat.

‘Thanks guys.’ I said.

Walking into school, all eyes were on me, or more like my belly. It was an obvious baby bump and I walked around with my head held high, not worried about what anyone thought.

‘Well, isn’t it the girl who got knocked up.’ Stacey said.

‘For your information Stacey. I didn’t even fucking do it on purpose. Now I have a beautiful baby coming in about three months and do you also know what that means, that I don’t need to see your stupid, dumb face around anymore.’ I replied before walking off to my locker.

The entire day at school I got looks from all different types of people. Some were judging me, some had a sorry look in their eyes. But I didn’t want they pity and I didn’t care what they thought. As long as I am healthy, the baby will be healthy.

I saw Dad pull up in the car park so I walked over to him and got into the car, pulling the seat belt around me. We talked about my day at school before we arrived at our destination.
We hopped out and walked over to the door for the hospital. I had Doctor Giles, who was friends with Doctor Morgan which happened to be perfect. She had recommended me to her and I thought that it was delightful.

We stepped into the elevator and rode it up to the 7th floor. Stepping out, we took a right before we were faced with a waiting room. I took a seat as Dad let the lady’s know at the desk that we were here.

As soon as Dad took a seat, my name was called and Dad groaned as he stood up again. I laughed as I walked into the office of Doctor Giles.

‘Afternoon Stella. How are you today?’ She questioned as she sat down on her chair.

‘I am very good. Things are going well.’ I said Dad and I sat in the chairs across from her.

‘No more morning sickness?’ She asked.

‘Had some yesterday morning but other than that no. I think it was because I was nervous. Starting school and all.’ I replied.

‘Well, I might check your blood pressure before we go look at your little baby.’ She said with a smile. She stood from her chair and walked over to me, putting the strap around my arm.
The strap pumped up before deflating again, beeping as it did.

‘Blood pressure is a little high, but that is okay. Just rest up and it should go down.’ She said, taking the strap from my arm. She walked over to the bed and tapped it. I got up and walked over to the bed, before getting onto it with dads help.

She squeezed the gel onto my stomach and rubbed it over my belly. She grabbed the wand and started to press it onto the skin. On the monitor next to me, was my little baby. It was moving a little bit before I felt a strange feeling I haven’t experienced before.

‘Someone is a little active.’ Doctor Giles said. I looked at her and smiled.

‘This is the first time bubs has kicked.’ I replied.

‘Honey, I have a question to ask you.’ Dad said, looking at me. I nodded for him to continue, ‘Hannah and I want to throw you a baby shower and we want to reveal the baby’s gender to you. So, I would know, but you wouldn’t. That way, we can surprise everyone and you.’ He asked.

‘I would love that. Thanks dad. Also, that way, we can buy the appropriate colours for bubs.’ I said, which allowed him to smile brightly and grab my hand a little tighter.

‘Alright then, I will need Stella to take a step out the room them, so I can tell you the gender of the baby.’ I did as I was told after she wiped the gel off my stomach. I walked down the corridor to avoid myself from accidently hearing it.

I do really wonder if I am having a baby boy or girl…
