No Idea

It’s been 4 weeks into the tour so far, and I’ve started to miss home, miss Dad, Hannah, Vic, Pete, Patrick, Tony, Brendon even Jaime. We text and talk on the phone every day and every night, but it really isn’t the same. Not to mention that we aren’t actually dating.

But when I’m not talking to Jaime, I am with Nathan, always. We’ve become glued to each other’s hip, apart from showers and using the toilet, we are always together.

He makes me incredibly happy. I am always smiling, forgetting every bad thing in my life. We talk about anything, and he always makes me laugh. I look at him and I can just feel how much I actually might like him.

I was in the bunk area when I heard Nathan and what sounded like mum walking into the area too. Seeing as I was in one of my moods, I jumped into my bunk, shutting my curtain as they stood at the far end of the area talking.

‘Well, winter can be a bit of a pain like that. What I normally do is tuck her in tight, and sing to her a little. I mean, you might not want to sing but just humming might do the trick.’ Mum said.

‘Thanks Jenna. Um, I had another question.’ Nathan replied.

‘Yeah, what’s that sweetie?’ Mum asked.

‘What would you say if I wanted to take Stella on a date, on one of the days that we didn’t have a show?’ Nathan questioned.

‘Umm, I would be okay with it, if you promised me that you will treat her right. I mean, it’s just gonna be one date, right? Unless you want to be her boyfriend, treat her right. Just don’t try anything stupid. Okay.’ Mum stated, firmly.

‘I promise. Is tomorrow night an okay night to take her to a park, where we can have a picnic lunch or something?’ He questioned.

‘Yeah. That should be fine. But remember that you are two years older than her.’ Mum warned before her footsteps took her out the room. Nathan’s footsteps took him in the other direction, leaving the room also.

I opened my curtain slowly, looking both ways before climbing out my bunk. I stood up and straightened my clothes before I walked into the room Nathan was in. He was sat on the couch, watching the TV which was mounted on the opposite wall.

‘Hey Nathan.’ I said, sitting down on the couch.

‘Hey you.’ Nathan said as he smiled to me, making me smile back at him.

‘What are we watching?’ I questioned, looking to the TV, unaware of what was playing.

‘I don’t know. It was on when I walked in. I haven’t really changed it.’ Nathan replied, laughing as he looked at me. I looked at him and smiled.

‘So, I have a question I want to ask you…’ Nathan said, kinda turning to me. I smirked, knowing what he was going to ask me. I nodded my head and he continued, ‘I wanted to see if maybe, you wanted to go on a date, with me. We’d go have a picnic in a park, just have a really good time.’ He said, smiling.

‘I’d love that.’ I said, replying a little too fast, but he didn’t seem to notice.

Nathan then smiled to me, before facing the TV once more. It kind of got awkward after this, I didn’t know what to do, so I got up and went to go get a drink of water.

I reached the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water off the counter, because cold water hurts my teeth and just doesn’t taste any good. As I was about to walk back into the other room, my phone began to ringing in my back pocket.

I reached behind myself, grabbing my phone and looking at the I.D. Jaime being the one who was calling. I answered it as I walked out the main door.

‘Hey.’ I said answering the phone.

‘Hello. How are you?’ Jaime questioned.

‘I am actually very well, a bit blind because the sun is too bright for my eyes, and my sunnies are on the bus. But how are you?’ I replied.

‘Oh, you know. I just miss you like mad. I wish two years was up already. I am not sounding selfish am I?’ He worried.

‘Of course not. I miss you too. I can’t wait to see you when I get home.’ I said, taking a sip of water after.

‘Well, I will be here waiting. For your return.’ He laughed.

‘Well, I have to go now. Mums coming up to me. Sorry Jaime. I’ll text you later. Bye.’ I said.

‘Awww. Okay. Bye Stel.’ Jaime said before hanging up the phone. I placed my phone back into my pocket before taking another sip of water.

‘Hey darl, what you doing?’ Mum asked as she approached me.

‘Just got off the phone with Jaime.’ I said as we began to walk back to the bus.

‘Oh yeah, how is he?’ Mum questioned.

‘He misses me.’ I replied.

‘Do you miss him?’ She asked.

‘Of course.’ I answered.

‘What about Nathan?’ She said.

‘What about him?’ I questioned.

‘You have a date tomorrow, don’t you?’ She again, questioned.

‘Yeah. I do. I still don’t see your point mum.’ I said, looking to her.

‘I’m just saying. You need to pick one. Don’t let both of them have your heart. It is very hard to maintain.’ Mum said, before kissing my cheek and walking onto the bus, seeing as it was time for her to get ready for tonight’s show.

It was the next morning, and I was currently standing in the bathroom as Sarah straightened my hair. I wanted to look nice for my picnic with Nathan, because I want to decide who I like better. I am, for once, listening to my mother’s advice.

‘There we go. All done.’ Sarah said as she smiled at me through the mirror.

‘Thank you.’ I said as I turned to face her. She fixed my hair a little bit more before nodding at me.

I walked out behind her to see Nathan in the front room, with a picnic basket and my coat. I smiled as I walked up to him.

‘Here, it’s a bit chilly out so I thought you could use this.’ Nathan said, handing me the coat. I took it and placed it on, fixing my hair as I thanked him.

‘Where did you get the picnic basket?’ I questioned as we began our way off the bus.

‘Well, I went to buy some of your favourite foods for lunch, and I saw it and I brought it.’ Nathan said.

He walked a bit closer to me, his hand reaching for mine, and once they connected, they linked together. I looked down at it and smiled. I guess, I never had this type of romance with Jaime at all. We didn’t go on a date, at all.

We found a park not too far away and when I found the perfect spot, I saw Nathan pull out a picnic blanket. He lied it down on the ground so we could sit down.

Once seated, he began to pull out all these foods, which, weren’t really lunch worthy. There was a packed of rainbow sour strips and a bottle of coke. He eventually pulled out some pre-made sandwiches.

‘I didn’t put any butter, mayonnaise or anything which will make you sick on this for you. I know how you react to it.’ Nathan said as he handed me the sandwich.

‘Oh, thank you so much.’ I said looking up at him. I smiled to him as he smiled to me.

I ate my sandwich before Nathan and I started talking. It was really about anything that popped into our heads. That was until Nathan said something that took me by surprise.

‘You know, you are very beautiful.’ Nathan said, making me blush a lot.

‘Really?’ I questioned.

‘Yes, really.’ He said as he moved a bit closer.

‘Aww, thank you.’ I said, as I smiled to the ground.

‘You know, I haven’t met a girl like you before.’ Nathan said.

‘A girl like me?’ I questioned.

‘Yeah. You are so beautiful, you are so helpful. You care, so much. It makes me like you that little bit more.’ Nathan said, leaning in closer.

Once Nathan was close enough, he stopped. ‘Can I?’ He asked. I nodded my head a little before his lips were pressed up against mine.

They didn’t feel as good as Jaime’s but they felt nice. I kissed him back though, which was the surprising part. As much as I wanted Jaime, I wanted Nathan.

He pulled away soon after, before smiling at me and taking my hand. I smiled back to him and we decided to watch the sunset before returning to the bus for the night.
