The Boy Who Could Fly

"Charlie are you ready yet?" Kai yelled from downstairs, I groaned as he knew I was ready, Not mentally, but I was ready. I walked downstairs, "Alright, let's go" I said "Charlie, you look beautiful." Auntie Rosa said coming out from the kitchen, "thanks auntie" I smiled at her " Let's go!" Kai said . We got into his car, and I looked at my cousin, "What?" He laughed, "nothing, I like your shirt Kai." I said staring at my shirt he was wearing, "wah, wah I like it and wanted to wear it" He said sticking his tounge out. I laughed.

We got to school, I was really nervous "Hey, it's okay." Kai sai dgiving me a reassuring smile, I smiled back. We got out of his truck and sat on the tailgate, Vic and Mike pulled up, they got out "Hey Charlie!" Mike said giving me a hug, "I still can't believe your here Char" Vic said giving me a hug too, "Hey babe!" A girl said walking up to us and straight to Kai, "Hey, this is Charlie." He said pointing at me I smiled a little, "Your Charlie! Kai told me so much about you: She said hugging me "Oh, I'm Taylor, but you can call my Tay." She said I smiled, "Nice to met you." I said to her, my phone went off, I checked and seen it was a text,
Turtle<3: Where are you? Jaime is out for a few day, don't know when he will be back.
I sighed in releif and showed Kai, "Tell him we're in the parking lot four cars down from his truck." He said, I texted to him excatly what Kai said. We were just sitting and talking, Tay was really nice, I could see why Kai liked her so much, me and her hit off right away, I looked over to see Tony walking up, I got excited and jumped off and ran over to him, "Hey Char" he said giving me a hug "Hey Turtle" I said smiling, we went back over to where everyone else was, "Hey, long time no talk" Tony chuckled towards the guys, "Yea, man it has been." Mike said to him, I smiled, but what really caught my attention was Vic and Tony's stare towards each other. "Look guys, I don't know what happened between you guys, but please I just miss everyone together." I said breaking the silence Tony smiled at me and so did Vic, "Vic, I'm sorry" Tony said "I know you are Tone, but I can't forgive you yet." Vic replied and looked back down. "Okay" He said to him "How crazy is that we have our little Charchar back?" Tony added smiling, The boys smiled and cheered, "What about... uh you know" Mike spoke up, "Oh, he's gone for a few days." Tony replied, already knew it was about Jaime, Mike nodded "Let's get Charlie's schedule, and see what classes she has" Kai said, we all got up to leave, me and Tay were walking together in front of the boys, "So, what's with Jaime?" she asked, I looked at her and smiled, "It's a long story." I told her, "It's okay, you tell me when your ready." She said, "Hey, catch up with you guys later" Tony said giving me a hug and fist bumping with the guys, "See ya Tones" I said to him, I watched him walk off to a group of guys. "I guess everyone did change" I said to Kai, he nodded "I'll see you later babe, gotta get to class early." Tay said to Kai, they kissed and she walked away, I smiled at Kai and we walked into the office.
"Okay Ms. Rodriquez, here's your schedule, locke number and combo" the secretary said, "Thank You." I said she smiled and I walked out to the hallway, "Okay, let's see what class you have" Kai said looking at my schedule and the guys looked too,
1-English 11B, 2-Math 11B, 3- Music Study, Lunch 11/12, 4- Art Studies, 5- Free Period, "Sweet you have Morning classes with me" Mike said happily, "And have 3rd and 4th with me" Vic said I smiled knowing that my best friends were still here, "what about you Kai?" I asked, "Oh same with Vic" he said I smiled, "We all have free period" Mike annouced I laughed "Let's get to class then" Mike said grabbing my hand and we walked off "You don't want to be late in Mr. Henderson's class." He said I nodded.
We entered the class and Mike sat at a desk and I sat right behind him, we talked a little and seen Tony walk in with a girl and a guy, He smiled and wwalked right up to us, "Hey guys" Tony said walking up to us and sitting in a desk next to Mike. "Morning class" the tescher I assume is Mr. Henderson Mike was making funny face at me and I giggled a little, and Tony was too, I laughed at little "Ms, Rodriquez?" Mr. Henderson called out, "I raised my hand and stood up "Ah, Charlie correct?" He asked I nodded, I hope sitting next to Mr. Fuentes and Mr. Perry isn't going to be a problem is it? "No, sir" I replied and sat back down "Micheal, if I was you I sit forward and pay attention." He said towards Mike, "Yea Micheal." I whispered to him, He turned around and stuck his tounge out. Class was about over and we were just talking "What class do you have next?" Tony asked, "Uh, Math" I said looking at my schedule he smiled, "Me too" He said I smiled back, "Hey babe walk me to class?" They girl that walked in with him asked. Tony's face dropped "Yea, okay." He said walking off with her, I looked at Mike as we walked out "That's his girlfriend, her name is Scarlett" I nodded, we walked into our next class, sat at a table and Tony sat with us again, but he didn't say a word, i didn't want to ask either, before the bell rang he left, I shrugged it off as nothing Mike mustve noticed "It's always been like this, before we started high school, him and Jaime drifted off, we stayed the same, kinda" He explained, "What happened between Vic and Tony?" I asked, "best for them to tell you." Mike said I nodded again.
Music, my escape from reality, when I walked in I felt calm, I seen Vic and Kai sitting on the side of the stage talking, so we walked up to them "Hey, how is so far?" Kai asked, "Okay, I guess" I laughed, Being in this class reminded me being back in Seattle, I missed my best friend, I felt my phone go off, Turtle<3:I have to cancel out on lunch maybe we can hangout after school?" me: sounds good Tone. "Charlie?" the teacher asked I walked up to her desk "Hi, I'm Charlie" I said to her "I'm Mrs. Moore, so I see your related to Kailin?" she asked I nodded "Well, I hope working with Him, Victir and Micheal is okay?" she asked I nodded my head, "That will be fine" I said, "Well what do you play?" She asked, "I play guitar and a little bass, I sing but not to good" She wrote everything down "Okay, go ahead and go back." She said, I turned around to sit with the guys again. "Victor, did you want to show what you have?" She asked him, He nodded and grabbed his guitar and went up on stage "Did you tell her you sing?" Kai asked, I nodded "You better have something to sing, she's going to ask you to go up." Kai said my eyes wents wide, "cover or my own?" I asked, "Either, but it's best to do your own" He siad I nodded remebering the song me and Kellin wrote, I zoned out, to where I didn't even hear Vic. "Alright Victor that was good, getting better. Charlie, I know it's your first day but do you have anything?" She asked, I nodded and asked Kai for his guitar, Vic smiled at me and I walked up to where Vic was sitting at, I was nervous but I started struming and closed my eyes,
"What can I do? What can I do to find something better to do than this? I've been sitting around thinking of everything that I've done wrong. I've been playing it over and over in my head. I've been thinking about something that I might have said to you To make you go so far away. And it makes me think of, I try so hard To find out where I've been I've been playing my cards, But I never, ever win. And if I fall short, Will you pick me up from this mess? Oh, be my heaven again. I looked to Mrs. Moore she smiled, "That was good Charlie" She said I got up and walked back to Kai, "That was beatuiful Char" Vic said I shrugged, "It was nothing me and Kellin sing it all the time." I said "Whose Kellin?" Mike asked, "Oh, my best friend in Seattle" I said "I thought I was your best friend" Mike pouted and Vic acted hurt, I laughed "You guys still are!" I said laughing.
Lunch rolled around "So a masqerade party?" Vic repeated, "Yea" I said smiling, "Who's invited?" Mike asked, I shrugged "How does a party get around?" I asked "Mass Text?" Tay said, I smiled and notices she was already texting everything down, "Is this good?" She said showing me the text,

I asked Vic, He just smiled, "It's at my house" Tay spoke up, I was confused "Tay's parentes are the ones that are out of town for the weekend" Kai explained I nodded my head "Oh.. okay" I said. My phone went off I smiled as I seen the text come thru and the name,
Kellin<3: Hey, Char, I miss you.
Me: Hey I miss you too Kells, I had to sing in class today and did our song.
Kellin<3: Really? I did too. :)
Me:Yeup, I almost cried.. I miss you
Kellin<3: I know, but guess what!
Me:What?
Kellin<3: I get to come down for you birfday :)
Me: ARE YOU SERIOUS!! Oh, better get a masquerade mask!
Kellin<3: You not have a Masquerade party! are you?
Me: YUP!
Kellin<3: Nice, Hey i have to go, Love you Charlie

I sighed, I missed Kellin, but I was happy that he was coming down for my birthday. Lunch was over with, and we walked to our next class, Art studies, Vic, Tay, Kai, Tony, and Mike were in the same class. We were all sitting at a table when the teacher was taking roll, before he got to me and Kai's name, he said his name, "Jaime?" He said looking around, "He's out of town for a few days" some girl said looking over to Tony and looking back to the front, "Kai?" he raised his hand "Charlie?" I raised my hand, "Welcome" He said I smiled and looked back at what I was doing, "Okay guys Wensday, free period." He annouced, I looked at Vic, "I'm sorry i forgot he was in this class." He said to me, I sighed. Great.
I was busy sketching out a really good drawing, It was a house, one of those older ones with a porch and made from wood planks, but it was broken up, with glass broken from the windows, it was in the sky. I really loved this one. "That's really good Char." Vic said smiling, "Thanks" I looked in my bag for my color pencils "Shit, I forgot my pencils" I said to Kai, "It's okay, it looks good still, it should be an artwork for some band's album" H said smiling, I smiled, maybe.. someday. "Should we leave early?" Mike asked "Yea, that sounds good." Kai answered. "Tony are you coming with us?" Vic asked, "Uh, yea sure" He smiled, "Where am I meeting you guys at?" He asked, "The Diner on Center" Kai told him, He nodded.
As soon as the bell rang, instead of heading to class we went out to the parking lot, Tay rode with Kai, but I got into Vic and Mike's car, soon as the car started Pantera played"NICE" I yelled happily, and we jammed out, headbanging. We pulled up to the diner laughing, I seen Kai's truck then another truck with Star Wars stickers on it, I chuckled "Looks like Tony's here" I said Mike and Vic laughed and nodded their heads. this looks like it's a good afternoon with these guys.
