You'd Better Hide the Bullets

So Beautiful

"Okay guys that was a good attempt, try and be more dramatic though. The key with songs like this is to act it out." Mr Haynes told us.

"What do you mean?" Vic asked.

"Well, Vic you'd love to be in a band right? Well one thing that would help you get the point of your songs across is through theatrical performances. Act out your songs, give it your all." Mr Haynes said dramatically. The bell indicating it was lunch time rang out. "Okay guys, I'll see you again on Monday for after school practice." Mr Haynes told us, releasing us from the practice for the recital.

I grabbed my bag and left the room. "Scarlett wait up." Vic called out after me, I stopped and looked at him as he grabbed his stuff and ran out the room after me.

"Yes?" I asked with a bored sounding tone. It's been two weeks since the photograph incident and Vic hasn't said a word to me. Things have been surprisingly peaceful.

"I just wanted to know why my brother is now suddenly best friends with you?" He sounded really obnoxious.

I rolled my eyes and walked on towards the lunch room. Vic caught up with me and walked beside me. "I don't know, maybe because you're an asshole and he's sick of it." I pointed out.

"That's rude." He said sounding hurt. I rolled my eyes, unsure of what to say or do.

"Yeah cause you're such a delicate soul." I said sarcastically.

"Look I backed off after I put those pictures of you all over school. Can't you just do me this solid?" He begged. I looked at him and noticed that he seemed serious.

"Fine, I'll say something to him." I groaned. We both walked into the lunch room and went our separate ways.

At the start of this week Mike began sitting at our table, and because my friends are good people they let him sit with us. "Why were you talking to Vic?" Patrick asked curiously.

"Well, he's insanely butthurt that Mike is sitting with us." I announced. Mike looked at me and sighed.

"Why does he have to be so damn awkward." Mike took a bite of his sandwich.

"I dunno, maybe he's on his period." I laughed. Everyone nodded and continued eating their lunch.

"I'm not going back until he learns to have a little respect." Mike signed loudly. I totally understand why Mike isn't friends with them anymore. I guess he's just done with it all.

Vic's P.O.V

"Why the Hell is he not coming back over here." I scoffed. Tony shrugged and Jaime ignored my statement. What the Hell is wrong with these guys? Have they lost faith in us? They just don't care anymore.

"Vic it's not that big of a deal, Mike was the weak link." Jaime said with a monotone voice, not looking up from his phone. "We're better off without him." Jaime finished.

"God, that's so much bullshit. Jaime people don't seem to care about us anymore. We are slipping off the radar." I told him, sitting up straight.

"Maybe that's not the worst thing in the world." Tony said quietly.

"What?!" I almost shouted at him. I watched him flinch slightly then felt awful.

"It's boring being a total asshole right now. Sometimes I just wanna be invisible to everyone. It's exhausting." Tony put his head in his arms on the table.

I looked away, over to the table that now inhabits my brother and his new best friend. Damn she's ruined everything. Since she came along I've lost my friends and brother, rep and pretty much all respect anyone ever had for me. The most annoying part is she's so damn likeable. Well, not in an attractive way. Okay totally in an attractive way. She's extremely attractive but she hates my guts so like I have no real shot with her. Hence why I need to keep acting like an asshole to her, just to avoid disappointment. "Come on guys, we are much better than this. Wanna go throw water balloons at freshmen?" I suggested. Jaime looked up from his phone and nodded enthusiastically.

"Now that does sound fun." Tony sat up with a grin on his face.

We got up from our table and I took another look towards Scarlett and my brother. They both began laughing and then she looked over towards me. My stomach felt like there was butterflies trapped inside. So cliche I know but she is so infuriatingly beautiful.

Scarlett's P.O.V

"Hey guys I gotta go pee, I'll be right back." I stood up and left the cafeteria. The girls bathroom that was nearest to me was at least five minutes away from the lunchroom.

I walked past the boys bathroom went the door opened and Vic ran out laughing hard with water balloons in his hands. He didn't watch where he was going and slammed right into me, making the balloons burst all over me, Vic pulled me down onto the ground with him. Tony and Jaime both came running out of the bathroom with more balloons in their hands and slipped on the already spilled water, making them both fall on the ground too, throwing the balloons up in the air and making them break on themselves. I just looked around, confused. Tony and Jaime sat there in hysterics at their actions. "Ouch." Vic groaned sitting up.

He looked at me and I could see his face turn a slight shade of red. "Thanks." I mumbled, standing up and realising my whole shirt was completely soaked. "Great." I groaned.

"I can see your bra." Jaime pointed at my chest. I covered myself with my arms and stepped over them, embarrassed doesn't even cover it.
