No Going Back
Thank God For Fans
Lily’s P.O.V.
“You hungry?” Vic asked. “Very.” “Where do you want to go?” “Anywhere but McDonalds.” “Not a fast food kind of person?” Jaime asked. “No. I love fast food, but I haven’t had it in so long, I don’t think my stomach could handle all that grease. I'd probably just puke it up anyway. Give me a week and I’ll try to choke it down.” “No rush.” Vic said. “Are you anorexic?” Mike pulled out his phone and googled it I guess. “a serious eating disorder primarily of young women in their teens and early twenties that is characterized especially by a pathological fear of weight gain leading to faulty eating patterns, malnutrition, and usually excessive weight loss” “What?” “Basically you lose your appetite so you stop eating in hopes of losing weight.” ”No. I don’t think I have that. I actually don’t want to be able to see my ribs.” I’m pretty skinny. “I just never got time to eat, what with all the beating. Sometimes my stomach denies food because it thinks it’s full when it’s not.” “You seem like you have a lot wrong with you.” Tony said. I know he didn’t mean it meanly. “I also have asthma, dyslexia, anxiety, ADHD, and some short-term memory loss.” “Wow.” said Jaime. “Applebee’s?” “Sounds great.” I could tell Vic was trying hard not to so there wouldn’t be a car accident. We pulled into Applebee’s and all got out of the car. Jaime held the door for us. “How many?” the lady at the front asked. “Five.” Vic said. We followed the lady to a booth. Mike and Jaime sat on one side and me, Vic and Tony squished into the other. “Get whatever you want.” Vic said. “We’re paying.” “Cool.” I said. “Get used to it. You’re with us now.” Mike said and with that two fans walked over giggling. “Would you sign our napkins?” one asked. “Sure Vic said. The two napkins went around the table. When they came to me I signed them, and then passed them to Tony. He looked at the extra name on the napkins, and then wrote his. “Thanks.” The fans squeaked as they shuffled away. “You signed the napkins.” Vic said surprised. I pulled out my kids menu and worked on the maze. “Got to get used to being famous.” They laughed it off and started skimming their menus. I knew then that I was going to like it here.
