The Last Punch

“Em! I get it! You miss him but seriously you need to suck it up!!” I heard Mel groan from the kitchen.
“Why are you mad at me? I just miss him..” Emme said defensively.
“I get you guys are a new couple but you need to stop being so obsessed with him. I love you Emme, and I miss my Alex too. But you don’t hear me talking about it every 4 seconds! Even when we were just starting out I never was this obsessed.”
“Give me a break Mel! I’m new to this! I'm sorry I can't be just like you!” Em defended. I looked a Tony whom was on his phone next to me. We were in bed and had woken up to their banter.
“Oh, I didn’t know that you needed sympathy! I love Alex so much, you don't know how much I miss him!! I won't give you sympathy for something like this! You just need to learn to get over it!!!” Mel said back to her, her voice getting progressively louder.
“WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!” I heard Shep yell. My eyes widened and so did Tony’s. I smirked and he shook his head.
“Em is being an annoying, self-righteous, cunt! That is all! She keeps complaining about missing Ricky, it's pointless!! I'm away from Alex so much and so is Al with Tony! She thinks she's fucking special!!” Mel screamed, quickly making her way to her room and slamming the door behind her. I jumped and Tony sat up.
“What the fuck..” Tony whispered. I shrugged and continued to listen for anymore noise. “Babe..” Tony said, as I quickly shushed him by putting my hand over his mouth.
“I thought you were my friend! You selfish fucking whore!” Em said pounding on Mel’s door. Tony and I were stunned, and couldn’t move. Soon she was at our door pounding on it. “YOU IN THERE BITCH?! I knew I was just a replacement for your petty dead friend Lian!!” I quickly jumped out of bed when the name left her lips. I opened the door swiftly and uppercutted her in the jaw, sending her flying backwards onto the floor.
“You fucking watch your mouth! DONT YOU EVER SPEAK OF LIAN LIKE THAT!” I screamed, standing over her. I must’ve been intimidating because she looked terrified. Mel ran out of her room and Tony came up behind me. I smiled as I noticed that her nose was starting to bleed. She sat up and put her hand to her nose, her pointer finger quickly getting covered in the red liquid. Shep and Adrien watched from the kitchen in awe. I heard Adrien whisper something, probably about the blood cleanup..“I would leave and never comeback if I were you, and don’t bother contacting me. You petty piece of shit, get out of our house!” I kicked her legs as I motioned to the door with my pointer finger. Emme scurried out from under me and got up. She looked at Mel and I. Mel handed Emme her stuff and she took it carefully. I could feel myself welling up and I could see that Mel had silently started to cry. I pointed again to the door and looked down. “Just leave.” I said sullenly. I heard shuffling then the front door shut quietly. I shuffled into Mel’s room and she followed, closing the door behind us, not allowing anyone else.
“Al, why..” Mel started to tear up as she walked over to me. She hugged me tightly and began to sob.
“I don’t know Mel..” I said rubbing her back, starting to cry also.
“I never thought that she would leave. I l-loved her, and no-ow she’s gone.” She could no longer talk clearly. I sniffled and closed my eyes tight, in a pathetic effort to prove to myself that this was a dream.
But it wasn't a dream. What had just happened was not a dream. My bloody knuckles and tear stained cheeks were proof it wasn't.
