I'm Coming Home

After what felt like a long day, we decided to have a movie night, well by we I mean Tony, Vic and Mike, and by decided I mean I didn’t get a say, and well Jaime he was just…..there.

“Alex, we don’t have any popcorn, do you mind going and getting some?” Tony asked handing me his card.

“Ooouu and some candy and beer.” Mike exclaimed.

“Yeah sure.” I said grabbing my purse and keys.

“Hey, and take Jaime with you.”

Before I could even say a word Jaime butted in. “What? I think she can go to the store by herself Tone, it’s right down the road.”

“I don’t care, it’s getting late, rather be safe than sorry.”

“Why can’t VIc or Mike go with me?”

“Because Mike is waiting on his dealer and Vic is on an important call right now.”

“Ugh.” I groaned and glared at Jaime, but for once he wasn’t glaring back.

“Fine, come on.”

Considering Jaime is my brother’s best friend, I should at least try to be civil with him. He hasn’t really been an asshole today, but there are still a few hours left in the day to prove me wrong. Sometimes I just wish, Jaime and I could go back to being friends. Lord knows I could use another.






Jaime’s POV

I rushed and grabbed my phone before joining Alex in the car.

When I say it was awkward, I mean it was like first kiss awkward or worse that awkward when you think someone is waving at you so you wave back, but then you realize they were waving at someone near you. I had no idea what to say, so I bet you can guess what came out of my mouth.

“So, nice weather, am I right?”

Yup, big ass yikes on my part.

“Yeah, I guess.” Alex said. She dug around in her purse for a minute before pulling out a cigarette and lighter.

“I didn’t know you smoked.”

Silence.

“Does Tony know?” She glanced over at me before sighing.

“I’m quitting, they just help sometimes, but no, and I would like to keep it that way.”

Before I could let anything else stupid leave my mouth we arrived at the store.

“Alright, you go grab the candy and some drinks, I’ll grab the popcorn, and we’ll meet at checkout #2 okay?”

“Sounds good.” I said

We were in and out within 5 minutes and we sat all the way back in complete silence.

At least we aren’t arguing, but I wish that we could give each other a chance to become friends.Especially since I have a feeling that she needs nothing but friends and support right now.

I realized that I never posted the rest of this story even though I finished it a long time ago.
