Wonderless

"Yes Vic, we will be there for dinner tonight." I told my best friend and brother-in-law over the phone., for the hundredth time.

"Okay Trin. I know that I keep pestering you about tonight, but I'm really excited for you to meet Danielle." Vic has been dating Danielle for a couple months now and we finally all get to meet her.

"I know Vic. But you got to remember, my babies come first. Vic has been come down with a cold and I think Alex is getting it too. If I think that they're too sick for tonight, I will stay home with them. Mike might want to stay home with them too."

"Oh Trin, please bring Vic and Alex. I haven't seen my niece or nephew in a couple weeks and I'm missing them so much. Please. I need to see my nephew that was named after me. Pleaseeeee." He knows that I can't say no to him.

"Fine. And just so you know, Victor was named after your father, not you." I teased him. I could hear the smile that Vic had on his face.

"Thank you Trinity. This really means a lot." Just then baby Vic started to cry.

"I know it does. Hey, I have to go. My son is crying."

"Okay. Bye Trin, love you. Please give my babies a kiss from uncle Vic."

"Will do. Love you too."

It's 5:30 and the four of us have to go over to Vic's soon but Mike isn't home yet. The babies are acting fine and Alex is currently coloring while Vic is taking a nap in his car seat. I've tried to call Mike a couple times now but he hasn't been picking up. I grabbed my phone one last time and decided to leave him a message.

"Hey baby. I don't know where you are but I'm about to head out to Vic's with the kids. I will meet you at his house when you get there because if I keep waiting for you, I'm going to be late. I love you and hopefully I'll see you soon." I hit the end button and wiped away a silent tear. He's been doing this a lot lately and it's been getting lonely. He's barely home anymore. I know that he is busy with the guys with recording the new album but I wish I could spend more time with him. I miss my husband. "Come on Alex." I called to her. "Put your coloring stuff away, we are leaving for uncle Vic's house." She starting screaming and jumping up and down.

"I get to see uncle Vic?!?!" She was so happy and laughing. "Do I get to see uncle Tony and Jaime?" I smiled at her as I picked her up.

"Yes, you get to see all of your tios."

"Mama?" She asked me after I picked up Vic's car seat, he thankfully was still asleep after all of Alex's screaming.

"Yes baby?" I asked her as we left the house and I locked the front door.

"Where's daddy?"

"I don't know baby."
