To Die Is To Awaken

I gathered my things together and started to move them into my bag. The class started to empty around me but I saw Jess waiting at my desk. As I slung my bag over my shoulder I could feel my history teacher watching me. His eyes followed me as we walked over to the door. I walked out of the classroom and looked back at him. He averted his eyes to the floor and went over to the board.
"You okay?" Jess asked.
"Yes," I nodded. "That just made me a little uncomfortable."
"With Mr Taylor?" she asked.
"Was he watching me?" I asked seriously.
"I'm not sure," Jess thought. "Let's go outside. We're all headed for mine."
"Your mother will let us all in your home?" I asked.
"Yeah," Jess laughed. "We all used to hang out. You actually stayed at my house for a while."
"Really?" my eyes widened.
"Yeah, my mom actually can't wait to see you." Jess told me.
We walked outside and Jess led me to the cars. I saw Vic talking to Tony but he kept looking to the college. I went to stand by him and took his hand. Vic looked down and smiled. Vic turned to me and kissed my cheek. I blushed as everyone watched and dragged him over to his car.
"How you feeling?" Vic asked me.
"Fine," I shrugged. "Anxious." I whispered.
"About Lily?" he asked and I nodded. "You'll be fine." he reassured me.
"Meet at Jess's?" Jaime asked.
Everyone nodded and then broke away. I went with Vic and Mike to Vic's car. While Jess, Carrie, Tony and Jaime went in Jaime's car. I sat in the front seat of Vic's car and he backed out of where he was parked.
"Remember yet?" Mike asked from the back.
"Not yet." I shook my head.
"Leave her." Vic warned.
We drove until we came to a house. I could see Jaime's car outside. Vic parked up and we got out of the car. I waited for Vic to come with me and walked to the door. Mike went ahead and opened the door. I watched him walk through into the kitchen and help himself to food.
"The money I would save without you, Mike." a woman said, tidying away his mess.
"But you'd miss me." Mike grinned.
"I would," she sighed. "The others are downstairs."
"Thanks." Mike said, his mouth full of food.
"Hey Karen." Vic said. She turned around and gasped.
"I hope you're looking after her." Karen said sternly.
"Of course I am." Vic laughed.
She came over to me and pulled me into a tight, warm hug. I eventually relaxed and smiled into her shoulder. She patted my back and pulled away. "I hope you're feeling okay, Hannah." she said.
"I'm fine, thank you." I told her.
"I'm Karen. Jess's mom." she introduced herself.
"Jaime has told me a lot about you." I said.
"Are you hungry? I could make you some food. You can stay for dinner, God knows Mike will be."
"Dinner would be nice." I replied.
"According to Lily you might need a big meal after." Vic said.
"What are you doing?" Karen asked, her eyes narrowed.
"Nothing..." Vic trailed away.
"Hmm..." she frowned before she went to the cupboards.
Vic led me out of the kitchen and to a door. He took me downstairs leading to a basement. I found myself in a large bedroom. I looked around and felt myself become tingly. I gasped and gripped harder onto Vic's hand.
"What's wrong?" Vic asked.
"The energy." I gasped.
I saw everyone scattered around the room but I went to the wall that the bed was pushed up against. I reached up and touched it. I could see myself. I was slammed up against the wall with everyone watching. My arms went out to my sides and something cut my wrists. My blood ran down the wall just before my feet were cut. Next was my head. I screamed out. Jaime was panicking. I took deep breaths and my legs gave way. Jaime rushed over to me and helped me up.
"What happened?" Vic asked.
"I saw something." I mumbled.
"Was it a ghost?"
"No," I shook my head. "It was me. A vision."
"From before?" Jess asked and I nodded.
"What was it?" Jaime asked.
"Everyone was here. All accept for Carrie and Vic. I was on the wall bleeding. I do not know why but my feet and wrists were being cut." I explained.
"That was when Vic was missing." Tony said.
"You remembered." a red haired girl said.
I looked at her and saw Mike hovering behind her. She walked over to me and smiled. "I'm Lily." she introduced herself.
"You were there when I forgot." I said.
"Yeah," she smiled. "Are you ready?" she asked. I sighed and nodded. "Everyone has to go upstairs."
"What?!" Vic exclaimed. "I'm not leaving her."
"If Lily said we should..." Carrie trailed away.
"No, it's your fault she can't remember!" Vic snapped.
"You know Carrie wasn't in control." Tony spat back.
"Han, do you mind being alone with Lily?" Jaime asked me. I shook my head and he smiled. "There we go then."
"Why do we need to go?" Jess asked.
"It's the energy, right?" Mike asked Lily.
"Yeah. Everyone else's energy could interfere with the spell. We need to try to do this as by the book as possible. The chance of it working isn't really huge anyway." she sighed.
"Fine." Vic muttered.
"I'll be fine." I told him.
Vic nodded and came over to me. He leant in and kissed me on he lips. I sighed and kissed him back. He ran his fingers over my spine before he eventually pulled away.
"I'm right upstairs." he whispered.
"I will see you soon." I told him gently.
Vic kissed me one more time before he pulled away. He walked up stairs with everyone else. I turned to Lily and she smiled warmly at me to comfort me. I walked to where she was standing and she sat cross legged on the floor.
"What will happen?" I asked, joining her.
"It's pretty simple. You sit down, I say the chant and then it should take effect. If it works then you should remember everything immediately."
"And if it doesn't?" I asked.
"Then nothing will happen. You'll feel the same."
"Will I remember who I am now?"
"Yeah, you'll be Hannah Preciado. But also Hannah Charlotte. It'll all be open." she explained.
"Shall we do it?" I asked.
"Okay," Lily nodded.
She straightened herself and flexed her neck. Her eyes closed and she started breathing more prominently. She stayed like that for a moment before her eyes opened. She looked at me and took my hands. I bit down on my lip and breathed evenly to try and calm myself.
"Powers and emotions tied," Lily said easily. "A demons heart is where it hides. Help her through her agony, Bless her with her memory." she finished.
Lily looked at me hopefully and waited a while. She raised her eyebrows at me and I shook my head. Lily muttered something under her breath and stood up. I copied her and she folded her arms across her chest.
"It didn't work." I mumbled.
"Come on." Lily urged. But I could hear the disappointment in her voice.
We walked upstairs and went into the sitting room. Vic looked up and me hopefully. I walked over to him and sat next to him. "Sorry." I sighed.
"It's okay." he mumbled.
"It didn't work?" Jaime asked.
"No." I told him.
"Why not?" Carrie asked.
"It wasn't strong enough," Lily shrugged. "I had to adapt the spell. It's use is normally for a memory loss ritual done by a witch."
"There's no other that you know of?" Vic asked.
I saw Lily look to Mike for a second and chew nervously on her nail. "No, none." she finally replied, her voice wavering slightly.
