To Die Is To Awaken

I walked downstairs, looking around me as I did. On the wall there were photographs that were framed, standing proudly. Photographs of me with a woman and a Hispanic man. More of me standing and laughing with one of the men from before. Surely this must be proof. When I reached the bottom in the hallway I took Jess's hand. She squeezed mine to comfort me and I relaxed a little.
"Everyone has been very worried so I'll need to introduce you. Don't get offended by any of them. They're all finding it really hard." she explained.
I nodded and Jess opened a door. I anxiously peered around Jess and tried to see the people in the room. I saw the couple from the photographs and the man in the photographs too. They were sitting on a sofa. On another sofa I saw all the people from before accept the girl with the red hair.
"Come on," Jess urged. "I've brought Hannah down." she told the room. Everyone turned to look at me and I smiled lightly at everyone.
"Hello." I said to the room.
"This might be painful but it's best to get it over with," Jess sighed. "Hannah, this is your mother and step father." she introduced me. They smiled warmly at me and I nodded. "This is your step brother, Jaime." she told me and I saw the man sat next to my parents wave. "Your friends Mike and Tony. Your relation I told you about, Carrie. And finally Vic." she finished.
"I am sorry, all of you. I wish I could remember even slightly." I sighed.
"It's not your fault, sweetheart." my mother said. I nodded and looked to Jess. She smiled in encouragement and I walked across the room. I felt something pulling me forwards. I stopped in front of Vic and he looked up at me hopefully.
"May I sit down?" I asked.
Vic hurried to move and he let me sit down. He sat on the arm of the sofa. He was sitting so close to me and I could feel what Jess was talking about. The electricity. It felt right him being near me. It was so familiar. I wanted to reach out and touch him.
"I would like to apologise for my behaviour earlier, Vic. I wasn't aware of what had happened." I said genuinely.
"That's okay, Hannah. I probably shouldn't have shouted at you." Vic replied.
"How about we go upstairs?" Jaime offered.
Everyone got to their feet and started to head for the door. I waited a moment and looked over to my step father anxiously. "May I go too?" I asked.
"Uh- of course, Hannah." he replied, sounding confused.
"Thank you." I smiled.
I walked across the room to where the others were standing. Jaime rested his hand on my back and led me upstairs. I walked past the room that must be mine and saw everyone in a different room. "This is mine." Jaime informed me. We went inside and I looked around for Hannah.
"He's still the first person you search for." Mike joked.
"Where is he? I'd like to speak with him."
"He went to the bathroom." Jaime told me.
"Can I- I mean could I go and wait for him?" I asked anxiously.
"Of course." Jess smiled.
I left the room and wondered down the hall. I heard a tap running and waited outside the room. After a minute the door opened. Vic stepped back when he saw me, but after a moment he relaxed again. "Are you okay?" he asked.
"Can we talk?" I asked.
"Sure, do you want to go into your room?" he asked and I nodded. Vic walked towards my room and I followed. He sat down on my bed and I joined him.
"I- I feel so confused, Vic." I admitted.
"You will, but Lily is going to help you. She told Mike that she has some things you can do to help open yourself up." Vic explained.
"My head is telling me that I love Robin. That I should get home to my baby and wait for him. But Jess told me that they're not there. I feel like I love him, I do. But now I'm not so sure."
"Whys that?" he asked gently.
"Because right now I can feel something pulling me towards you. I did not even know your name until not long ago. But I think I love you, Vic." I breathed.
"I love you, Hannah. If you remember or not, I will always love you." he said.
I looked down and bit my lip. I wanted to reach out, but I was so scared. I would feel guilty. Eventually though I swallowed hard and took his hand. Vic smiled widely at me and stroked the back of my hand with his thumb. He brought our hands up and Vic kissed the back of my hand gently. I flushed a little but smiled.
"Is this okay?" Vic asked. "I don't know if this is something you're used to."
"It's fine." I confirmed.
"It's just like you again. Accept you don't even know what we did last week."
"What did we do?" I asked.
"That doesn't matter." Vic said awkwardly.
"Jess told me you are my person. Were we betrothed?" I asked curiously.
"No," Vic laughed. "That wouldn't be seen as good by a lot of people."
"But I can't be younger than sixteen."
"You're seventeen." Vic corrected.
"That's an acceptable age, surely." I frowned.
"Not now. We never talked about anything like that. We were too busy."
"I want to remember for you." I whispered.
"You will. Lets go to the others." he urged and I nodded. Vic stood up and I walked with him to Jaime's room. When we walked everyone looked at our entwined hands. It almost made me pull away, almost.

Hey! I know it's been a while but I thought I'd update this for you all. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, I know I did! I've been so busy though it's crazy. I'm thinking of writing a story based on work in retail and all the ridiculous stuff that happens. What do you think?
