Red.

I sat back, slumped on the couch swishing the purple drink back and fourth in my wine glass. I stared at the t.v. blankly, suddenly Harry potter and the chamber of secrets couldn't really keep my attention as it once could. I continued to slump further into the couch abandoning the now empty wine glass on the floor. I threw my feet over the side of the couch grabbing a pillow to prop my head up. I grabbed for my phone checking the time 6:15 p.m. It had been it had been 7 hrs since my little angel left for the weekend with her "beloved" father. I locked my phone laying it on my stomach finally deciding to pay some mind to the movie playing on the screen.

30 minutes in and I was enthralled in the world of hogwarts. My phone began to vibrate vigorously on my stomach, I rolled my eyes groaning internally. Just when I was getting relaxed and finally winding down someone has to bother?! I picked up my phone mikes face popping up on my screen. I raised an eyebrow at my phone, what could he possibly want? I slid the green button over putting the phone to my ear. Before I could so much as let out a hello miles worried voice came over the line.
"Em, I'm sorry to bother but something's wrong with dawn." I shot up from my position, "what do you mean something's wrong with dawn what happened?" I questioned worry lacing my voice.
"she began to throw up and is running a semi-high fever, she said she wants you and I wasn't to sure what else to do." He replied over the line.
"I'll be there in a few just keep a watchful eye on her till I get there." I rushed into the phone. I hung up the phone grabbing my purse and cardigan that lay over the couch. I slipped on my house shoes grabbing my car keys and rushing out the door. Don't worry dawn mommas coming.

The multiple lights and stop signs couldn't have come with a worse time. Being a mother is possibly the most time consuming and worry some job. I finally arrived at mikes place shutting off the car and rushing inside. I repeatedly knocked on the door tapping my foot impatiently as I waited. Finally the door swung open revealing a very under dressed alysha, she quickly covered up her robe before stepping aside to allow me in. I followed the sounds of dawns little distressed voice leading me to a pink and purple princess themes room. My angel lay there groaning, tear stricken face Mike trying to comfort her as best as he could. I took in his appearance seeing him in only shorts. Dawn noticed me tears welling her eyes.
"momma is that you?" She asked lips quivering. I crossed the last few steps to the bed sitting opposite of Mike.
"yes baby it's me how are you feeling." I questioned stroking her warm sweaty head.
"I feel bery I'll momma I think I need meddysin." She said bottom lip poking out. I nodded my head, " you sure do baby, would you like mommy to go get you some." I asked the sickly little one. She shook her head vigorously, " I want daddy to go, I want momma to stay with me" she said patting the space next to her. I nodded my head, telling Mike what to get her and various other things.

When Mike and alysha left for the store, fully clothed this time, I lay with my princess rubbing her head. Her fever must have gone down because I felt not a single bit of warmth radiate off her.
"You feeling better princess?" I questioned. I noticed dawns face falter and she sat up suddenly looking very guilty. I raised an eye at the child, "Dawn what's wrong?" Dawned looked up at me something in her eyes I couldn't quite read.
"promise momma won't get mad?" She questioned. I nodded my head thinking nothing of it, " I wasn't really sick momma, I just wanted to spend more time with daddy but the bad lady always has daddy's attention." Dawn replied crossing her arms, bottom lip jutting out. "What bad lady Hun, who was keeping daddy from you?" I asked not understanding alysha was the only girl here. Suddenly things began to click, "baby girl is alysha the bad lady, do you not like her babe?" I asked tucking a stray behind her ear. Dawn looked up at me her doe eyes staring intently into mine, "no I don like alysha, daddy is supposed to be with me and you, but she keep him from us, I want daddy to love us momma not that lady, I only like her cause daddy likes her." I stared at the dirty blonde haired little girl infront of me amazed at everything she had just confessed. I stroked her cheek leaning down to peck it, "baby girl you have to understand daddy doesn't love mommy anymore he loves alysha now so you need to be nice." I told her sternly. Dawn simply nodded lying against me.

Mike returned with the medicine and some other things I had told him to get. Dawn by now had fallen asleep, head buried in my chest fingers wound tightly around my neck. He smiled at the sight of us, that was surely a first. "How's she feeling?" He said motioning towards her.
"She seems to be doing a lot better fever went down and she hasn't gotten up once to go bathroom." I replied smiling up at Mike. Mike nodded, I slowly slid myself from the sleeping girl putting a pillow in my place and wrapping the blankets securely around her. I grabbed my bag from the chair, turning once more to look at the sleeping angel before exiting with Mike following tow. I walked silently along side Mike waving at alysha who was sat on the couch looking pissed as ever. I shook it off her attitude not being any of my concern at the moment.

Mike followed me out walking me to my car. I turned to look at the man infront of me not knowing what to really do. Part of me wanted to blow up on him, part of me wanted to hug him and never let him go and another part of me just wanted to kiss him endlessly.
"So thanks for coming by em, I wa really worried about dawn I wasn't sure what to do." His feet suddenly becoming a thing of interest.
"yeah it's no problem just make sure when she needs you your there."
Mikes head shot up a sudden flash of anger crossing his eyes.
"excuse me?"
"you heard me very will Mike, when our daughter needs you, be there for her she's never a second choice." I said punctuating each word with a jab to the chest. Mike grabbed my hand pulling me forward.
" What are you trying to get at em,?" He said voice raising inching dangerously close.
"im talking about the pretty little blonde sitting on the couch who was half naked when I arrived early." I replied trying to pull my hand away.
Mike was truly having none of it, he crushed me against his chest our breathes mingling together.
Mike chuckled his breathe fanning out onto my face.
"sounds like someone's jealous." I pushed Mike with as much force as I could not moving him an inch.
"please Fuentes you wish"
Mike leaned closer and closer our lips centimeters apart,
"so this has no effect on you?"
I shook my head, knowing if I spoke a word my voice would surely give me away.
He finally pulled back, letting me go and looking me over Mike nodded his head retreating back to his but not before looking back at me and sending me a wink. I slid into my car resting my head against the steering wheel trying to control my breathing. What was this man doing to me.
