Red.

I awoke as the smell of pancakes, egg and bacon filtered my room. I peeked open an eyes my door slightly cracked the sun casting shadows across my room. I sat up my arms going above my head as my back popped in pleasure, emitting a groan in satisfaction. I slipped off the bed exiting my room creeping through the hallway. The hallway to kitchen allowed me to peek in, the sight before me could have turned me into a puddle of goo. Dawn sat on the counter arranging a bouquet of flowers in a vase with a card sprawled out infront of her tiny feet. Vic stood over her helping her write words out into the card while Mike looked over his shoulder smiling and laughing at the two. I leaned forward my heart swelling, the floor creaked under me and 6 pairs of eyes turned to me, I stood like a deer caught in headlights. None of us moved, I took a step forward entering the kitchen a smile playing on my lips.
Dawn held her hands out to vic who lowered her and passed her the case and card, she took small steps as she came towards me. I knelt dawn smiling at my daughter,
"momma I real sorre bout wha I did I was a bad girl and I sorre." she spoke as she handed me the case and card. I grabbed it placing it to the side pulling my daughter into a hug.
"it's okay bug mommys sorry too I love oh never forget that." I spoke running a hand through her curls.
"I luv yew too momma always." Dqwn spoke as she pulled away she immediately perked up as she remembered something.
"oh momma me dadde and tio Mae yew breakfast!" She exclaimed jumping up and down. I stood grabbing her hand facing the two guilty faced yet smiling men before me. Vic opened his mouth but Mike shushed him with a smack to his arm, I chuckled. "I accept both of your apologies let's forget about it okay, I just want to start over and have my bestfriend and my daughters father back in my life normally okay?"I questioned. My get both nodded sending me smiles, I gave in walking forward dawns hand still envelopes around mine pulling both men into a hug as dawn wrapped her tiny hands around mine and mikes legs connecting us a little further. In that moment nothing could stop how complete and happy I felt for once.

We separated grabbing our platest and digging into the food. We spoke of events which lead to us throwing food and me hitting vic square in the shoulder for yet again not having told me about Danielle, he seemed enthralled by her and well, I couldn't stay at him for two long. The laughs and occasional tear shed brought us a little closer, dawn announcing shortly she wanted to go to the park. With that pout and those doe eyes who could ever say no?! The boys and I gave in cleaning up and getting dressed before heading out the door and walking down the street to the neighborhood park.
"oh momma luk tah swinss!" Dawn exclaimed making a beeline for them.
"Dadde chase me!" Mike chuckled chasing after dawn leaving me walking along with vic. We watched as mike caught dawn swinging her around, "so em how are you feeling, I mean after everything."
I sighed looking at vic, "I'm not sure vic I mean this all feels so normal so perfect and I think I deserve this but how long can I have it for, you know?." I asked. Vic nodded his head pulling me closer.
"in all time Em, you will soon have your happiness."
We reached dawn and Mike, dawn squealing to go higher.
mike grabbed his phone from his pocket looking at it then sliding it back into place.
"who was that?" Vic questioned. Mike looked back at both of us eyes stopping on mine smiling.
"Oh it was no one."
i smiled shrugging thinking nothing of it. Dawns laughter the only thing on my mind.
