"I hate you momma."
4 words 1 phrase that continuously swirled in my mind, taunting, prodding, tearing at my emotions. Since we had arrived home dawn repeated the phrase twice, each time with more anger. Instead of thank you momma for my happy meal and apple pie or I love you too accompanied with a kiss to the cheek, I got two "I hate you momma accompanied with a slam of her door, or at least an attempt. Since these incidents her tv volume has only continued to increase and the slamming, well it got worse each time she came out. It could be that although her stature is small Dawn was an intelligent child and knew what she was doing, she is her fathers daughter to be exact. I knew the glares, and slams of doors would not stop. I eventually opted for giving my daughter what she wanted, I closed my door. The slamming stopped, the volume seemed to have lowered and not a peep was heard from my daughter across the hall. Tears rolled down my cheeks as all of today's events played in my head. I helped vic cheat, Dawn said she hated me, and alysha is a down right evil witch. The emotions that coarsed through eventually caught up with me as my eyelids begin to droop. I nestled my head deeper into the pillow closing my eyes.

I awoke to a start swear adorning my body, dawns name leaving my lips. I got off the bed scurrying to my door, I peeked out, the house consumed in total darkness, the only visible light source was the night light coming from dawns room. I walked over slowly, pushing open the door. I nearly jumped when I noticed someone holding my daughter until I realized who's arms were wrapped around her those tattoos all to similar. Mike. Mike turned his head as the door creaked.
"What are you doing here?" I whispered, lowering my voice as dawn stirred.
"I came to drop off her bag, I stayed because I could see that she was upset but wouldn't budge with me." He replied.
"oh well Um thank you for comforting her."
Mike chuckled, "she wasn't to happy when she saw me walk in her room she thought it would be you, she did give in and tell me she hated you and that she was being real mean with her momma."
I looked over my daughter who was cuddled on her fathers chest, little hands gripping his shirt tight.
"Em I'm probably the last person you want to see or hear but I can guarantee your a great mother and dawn doesn't hate you."
I met eyes with Mike raising a brow in question, "what?"
"I can read you like the back of my hand em, your daughter could never hate you."
"yeah well she could never hate you either I guess today was just a rough day in general to many broken promises." I replied back.

"em I'm..."
i held up my hand shaking my head, "save it fuentes, I don't want to look back on the past anymore not now, not ever, I want to start a clean slate, for dawn, she deserves us being civil and not always in the middle, I want us to be her parent together or not we owe her that much, and as for alysha she can be her parent as well."
I saw Mike open his mouth but shut it when I sent him a glare,
"Mike seriously get some sleep its late and we can start fresh tomorrow."
i turned closing the door behind me,
"wait em," Mike asked
i turned to him leaning against the door, "yes Mike?"
he looked at dawn before turning to meet me again, " ugh goodnight."
I smiled slightly, "goodnight Mike."
I closed the door behind me re-treating back into my room, as my body met with the best of warmth my mind wanderd off to what Mike was really going to say.

Update!!! So updates are going to becoming a little faster now because I'm just so excited for you guys to read through! You all have been so interactive and I love it!
