High School Never Ends

Not You

Aria’s p.o.v

“I knew I’d find you here…”
“Jesus Austin, you scared the crap out of me.”
“Why? It’s not like anybody comes here anymore.” Austin pointed out
“Exactly.”
“Anyway. Why’d you runaway? Again, might I add.”
“Habit.”
“Yeh, yeh. Don’t joke around, what’s going on?”
“It’s… It’s nothing. I-I’m sorry.”
“For what?”
“For running. For shouting at you. For not appreciating you.” I sobbed before tightly hugging Austin
“Where’s all this come from?” Austin chuckled as he hugged me back
“A good friend.” I smiled
“Must be.” Austin muttered. “You ready to go back? You can tell the guys you’ve been find and they can go home.”
“They’re out looking for me?” I gasped
“Aria, they’re your friends!” Austin laughed
I smirked back as me and Austin walked home together.
“Aria, get your ass outta bed!” Austin called
“One… More… Second.” I murmured
Suddenly, I felt a pillow smack me in the face. As I opened my eyes, I saw Austin standing over me grinning.
“Dick.”
“Watch your language.” He said sternly
“Seriously?” I questioned his authority
“Seriously.” He snapped before throwing the pillow at me
I heaved myself out of bed and got ready for school.
“I’ll give you a ride.” Austin offered, as I hopped down the stairs
“Thanks.”
I sent a text to Mike telling him not to wait for me and jumped into Austin’s car.
Once at school, I was met by Jaime and Amelia.
“You guys, alone?” I smirked
“Shut up.” Amelia snapped
“No one else is here.” Jaime replied
“Hm. Hey about last night, thanks for looking for me.”
“It’s alright. You okay now?” Jaime asked
“Yeh, I talked it out with Austin but I need to talk to Mike.”
As soon as I said that, the bell rang. We all rushed off to our separate classes and I didn’t get a chance to see Mike until lunch.
We were all sat in our usual spot. Well, all of us except Mike: he was late as per usual. When he finally came into view he had a girl with him. She was clinging to him like a koala would cling to a tree. My heart sunk a bit, I didn’t understand why though.
“Guys!” Mike beamed. “Look whose back! It’s Tasmin!”
She waved and smiled at all three of the guys, but shot me and Amelia a glare each.
“Tough crowd. Maybe I should…”
“No, Amelia.” I hissed
She giggled evilly.
“Tasmin, this is Amelia and that’s Aria.” Mike pointed out to her
He smiled over at us but Tasmin still glared. They sat down, Tasmin almost on Mikes lap.
“Uh, Mike I was kind of hoping we could talk?”
“Can it wait till after school?” He asked, obviously preoccupied with the wondrous return of Tasmin
All the guys seemed to be preoccupied with Tasmin, actually. I could even see jealousy in Amelia’s eyes.
“Yeh, sure.”
When the final bell rang, I rushed straight out of the classroom to my locker. Hurriedly, I packed all of my stuff up and then legged it out off of the school grounds. What was I doing? Me and Mike were supposed to talk. I’m running. Why? I don’t know. There’s something about him and Tasmin that makes me feel uneasy. It’s not like me and Mike are a thing: we’re not even close to that. Why do I feel this way? No. Please, no. Not Mike.
