The Night Can Be Deadly

"Ummm who are you?" I ask before containing myself. The little girl blinks a couple times before saying, "I'm Blossom." She says quietly. "How old are you sweetheart?" Erin asks softly leaning over to be eye level with her. "Four." She whispers hiding behind my leg. Why my leg?! Compared to me, I was taller than her. At least I'm not the shortest one of the group anymore!!! I looked down at her and said softly, "don't be scared."

She whined a bit before wrapping her arms around one of my legs. For some reason my fatherly instincts kicked in. What fatherly instincts though I'm not even a father. One day though. Maybe I should practice being a dad with this girl if I'm going to be a father. If I ever see Iris again. And if we keep this girl. Who am I kidding she's only four we can't leave her. "Where are your parents?" Tony asks crouching. "In Paris. I was here with my babysitter but then she got eaten by those things."

"Call then Geeks. How long have you been out here for?" Kellin questions. "I don't know. Maybe a couple of days." She shrugs before squeezing the living hell out of my leg. "You're pretty smart for a four year old. Like witb words." Jaime says. "My mom taught me big words when I was little. She says I'm the only little girl who can talk sentences." Blossom beams. We all nod slowly before I crouch down and ask, "Would you like to be in our group?"

"How?" We all burst into laughter. "Just say yes kid." Mike snorts. I'm glad he's doing okay after what we just saw. Trust me, after we get to the hospital, it's all gonna come back. We're just trying to hold it in for now. As we started to prepare for walking again, Jaime and Tony held me back as I stared at Blossom's back. "Hey man. I'm sorry about what happened. But if you need to cry when we get to the hospital then let it out alright?" Jaime says clapping his hand on my shoulder.

"Yeah man, it's okay. I'm sorry." Tony adds hugging me tightly. I nod and watch as the two of them go to Mike to probably say the same. "Guys, Mike needs some rest and it's getting late. So let's just stop by that mall and spend the night there alright?" Tony speaks up for the first time to the group. "And to add, Lindsey isn't looking well so she needs that rest also." I pull out a granola bar before handing it to Justin to give to Lindsey. "Thanks man. I owe you one."

Shaking my head I reply, "you don't owe me anything. You're like one of my many brothers." I say patting his shoulder. The mall is in some kind of good condition yet broken down. There was dead Geeks all over the floor and it reeked of blood. "Hopefully inside won't smell like blood." I say before taking my bandanna and wrapping Blossom's nose with it to protect her from the fumes. Gagging fills the air as we struggle to walk through the aroma of blood and death.

"Okay we're here." Jaime informs before slowly opening the door. It creaked surprisingly for a glass door. All of is slowly and carefully entered to see a whole horde of them. Shit! Everyone darted to the stairs where we ran all the way to the center where Geeks wouldn't find us. "What do we do?!" Jessica asks frightfully. "Kill them that's what we do!!!" Jack exclaims. As I look around to find a way to escape and hide in order to shoot, something catches my eye.

Everyone talks but I run to the small object before picking it up. It was Iris's bandanna. The one she would wrap around her head or place in her hair like a headband. I knew it was hers because it smelled like her. And a little blood which it had dots of. "Jenna?!" Jacks voice rings behind me. "Jack baby!!" A familiar voice questions. I watch as Jenna runs into jacks arms and they embrace tightly before kissing madly. If only that was Iris and me. At least he found his woman.

All i I found was some bandanna that was left behind. As everyone plans how to kill them, I give Tony a look before we just pull our guns out and aim. In no time, the two of us start to slowly kill the Geeks. "What the fuck guys!!" Jaime says running over. Instead, he slips on a puddle of blood and goes over the railing. Luckily Jessica was fast enough and clutched onto his hand. He started to breath heavily with fear as Geeks saw him and started to make their way to him.

Clawing and and snapping teeth they slowly stumbled to Jaime's legs. "Jaime you're too heavy!!!" Jessica struggles grunting. "Let go." He states. "ARE YOU CRAZY?!!" Gabe and I screech together as I feel Blossom slowly stand next to me. "Go over by Alysha and Erin." I ruffle her hair before she runs off. "Guys it's only a matter of time. Maybe this is a sign." He says. "Jaime you are fucking insane!!!" Kellin states. "Come help me!!" Jessica yells. Everyone comes behind and helps her try and lift Jaime up.

But a Geek grabs Jaime's leg before taking a huge bite out. It causing Jaime to scream out loud. "JAIME!!!!" Jessica cried. "Let me to Jess!!! Hurry before it's too late and I turn and eat you. I don't want that Love." Jaime says as tears roll down his face. Tears start to pour out of everyone's face. "But Jaime." I whine. "I know Vic. I know." "You're my best friend. I don't wanna lose you." I whimper as I clutch onto his other hand. "I know Vic. And we had some great ass times together. All of us. I'm gonna miss all that. But one thing I want. Is for you to find Iris. Kill Jesse find Iris."

He says. "Jaime I don't think I can let go." Jessica sobs. "Jessica. If you love me let me go." He whispers as yet another Geek chew on his leg. As everyone crowds around, Jaime screeching we all listen to him speak. "I love you all. Remember that. Jessica you were my sun. Lit up my day. And don't you ever forget. Memories are the one thing to keep you alive. Now Jess if you love me let me go I just said that." It took a couple of minutes before Jessica contained herself.

Then



she let go.

I cried. I'll admit I cried really bad. I didn't want to kill him. I have nothing against him and I love Jaime. Comments?? Anything you would like to see? Did you cry as bad as me?
