LP’s POV

“Baby, calm down, it’ll be fine.” Alan soothed to me. I shook nervously on the couch. After we had visited Aaron in the hospital, our recording session had come to a complete stop. The knife had missed any internal organs and hadn’t caused too much damage, just a lot of blood loss. Aaron had stitches and would stay the night just so that they could monitor him. He said he felt fine, but Austin convinced him to stay.

What had really gotten to me was the note. I was next, I would be attacked next. Alan’s arms wrapped around me, rubbing my back nervously. He was just as afraid as I was, but forever stayed the optimist. We would be leaving on a small tour for a few weeks. Our departure date was in four days, just enough time to send me into a panic.

Right now, I was freaking out on the couch. Nothing could erase that image of what had happened. It wasn’t a pretty sight with the blood reflected on the metal edge of the knife, a few stray drops landing on the note attached.

“I won’t let him hurt you, I won’t let him hurt you…” Alan muttered over and over, clutching me closer. It was if he was scared I would fade in his arms. We should’ve been over all the fear from eleven years ago. It should be all over and gone. Dad was out of our life, taking Mom down with him. The three points in my side and ribs ached from the memory of bullet wounds and near death. I didn’t want to go through that again.

“Why does he want me? I thought he was going for Rae.” I murmured into his chest and trying to hold myself together. Alan sighed, running a hand through his hair.

“I don’t know. We can’t ignore this though. The police are already trying to track him down. They’ll go through everything to find him.” Alan murmured to me. We might have been alone in our cozy little house near the studios, but I felt safer with my ginger princess near me.

“They’ll have security at the tour. What about Rae?” I asked him as I thought back to my sister. Alan pecked my cheek reassuringly. I wasn’t sure if it was for him or me.

“Austin said he was going to tell her. Aaron will stay with them until the tour starts. He should be feeling better by the time we leave. We might have Phil and Tino stay at our house until tour.” Alan replied. Good, it was good that we had safety in numbers.

“Oh, okay. James won’t come by us with many people around.” I muttered to myself. Safety in crowds.

“You’ll be by my side the entire time on tour. Don’t worry about it.” Alan squeezed my hand.

“What about Rae? She has to be staying home because of Beth!” I exclaimed at the thought. My husband brushed my hair back, running his long fingers through each strand.

“Don’t worry, darling. She’ll be with safe here. Sara and Oli were going to check up on her, remember?” Alan snuggled his face into the crook of my neck. I squeezed his hand back.

Sara, Raelyn’s always present best friend, had offered to help her take care of the kids while Austin was out on tour. Since Sara was going to help, of course Oli Sykes decided he could be of some use as well. Now that this issue popped up, it seemed to fall in place perfectly. As soon as Sara found out what had happened, I was willing to bet that all of Bring Me the Horizon would be over every day watch over Rae. If Sara was worried, Oli would be worried.

Apparently, they still weren’t “dating”, and just good friends. Oli always blushed when we teased him about asking her out.

“Oh yes. That makes me feel a bit better.” I sighed and looked out the window towards the sunset. The house was clean for once. Since we would be having Tino and Phil over, Alan decided he would clean while I rested and checked in with Aaron.

“I think it’s time to go to bed.” Alan sighed. I nodded and closed my eyes. He lovingly carried me and set me on the cushiony blankets. My dreams that ran wild this night carried me through terrifying nightmares.
