"Come on they're dying to meet you"
i said dragging Darren down the sidewalk.

"me no wanna"
he said with his voice cracking at the beginning of "wanna"

"too bad, my mom has been questioning me on spending every afternoon with some stranger in the woods"
i said taking a long breath afterwards.

"oh, well it was nice knowing you. Bye"
he said walking backwards.

i turned around to face him.
i rolled my eyes and continued to walk to my house,
of course he followed behind me.

"you know, im only doing this because i love you"
he said catching up to me.

"sure"
i kind of said in a state of disbelief

"I am, and you should believe that"
he said with a cute little grin.

"prove it"
i said leading him up the walking path to my house.

"how long do i have?"
he asked as we reached the door.

"two weeks"
i said knocking on the door.

he thought about it for a second.
"Deal"

and then the door swung open revealing my mom.
Darren kind of froze up.

"you must be Darren"
my mom said with a grin spread from ear to ear.

"u-uh yeah, its nice to meet you Mrs. Ramirez"
he stuttered kind of freaking out inside.

"i could say the same to you"
my mom said with a welcoming voice.

after a few awkward moments of silence i finally said something.
"lets go in now"

"oh yeah, food will be ready in just a bit"
my mom said letting us in.

we entered the living room where she told us to wait.
"wheres dad?"
i asked.

"he had to work over a little today, something to do with lost files, he should be here any minute"
my mom kind of yelled from the kitchen.

"oh ok"
i said.

"hey Ariel"
Darren asked quietly.

"what is it?"

"im scared"

"of what?"
i asked.

"what if your parents dont like me?"

i thought about it for a second.
"it doesnt matter what they think, i still like you no matter what. Okay?"

he smiled a little.
"Thank you"

"hey Ariel"
he asked again.

"what?"

"can i use your bathroom?"

"haha, sure its upstairsz first door on your right"
i said.

"thanks"
he said getting up and running.
