I Said I'd Never Let You Go

Preforming to a huge crowd everyday was amazing. Even after a year I couldn’t believe that this was my job, it was so surreal. We had just finished our set in St. Petersburg and I was starving. As I wiped sweat off of my face and neck I checked my phone. I had a few notifications from twitter and a couple texts.

From: Tony 2:53PM
Thanks for the talk yesterday. I know I hurt you and I’m sorry. I just want you to know that no matter what you decide to do I will always be there for you. Friends first remember? I love you.

I smiled and quickly typed out a reply telling him that I was happy that even if we didn’t end up woking out that he wanted to remain friends. I couldn’t see myself not being friends with him. The other texts were from Jenna and Chloe.

Chloe’s was about what we were going do on our day off in Orlando tomorrow and Jenna’s said that she wanted to see me. I was about to reply when my phone vibrated again. I opened the new text and saw it was from Austin. I smiled to myself. I had been very distant with him since I saw him the day Tony and I broke up. I felt bad, but I needed space.

I was wondering if you were up to grab some food with me. I am starving and I know you always are too.

To: Giraffe :p 3:17PM
I’m down. Just got off stage. Meet me at the Kia stage?

My phone vibrated again almost immediately. I shook my head knowing he was waiting for a reply.

From: Giraffe :p 3:18PM
I know you did. Look up.

I did as the text instructed ad looked up. He was standing by one of the monitors smiling at me. My stomach erupted in butterflies his smile away had that effect on me no matter how upset I was with him.

I walked over to him and opened my arms for a hug. I had missed him. He hurt me really bad, but I didn’t want to give up on us if we were meant to be. I was trying to keep an open mind on what the future held. He gladly accepted the hug wrapping me in a tight hug. I laid my head on his chest and heard that his heart was beating relatively fast.

“What’s wrong?” I asked looking up at him. “Your heart is beating really fast.”

“Nothing. That just happens when I am around you. Nothing to worry about.” He says with a small smile. After everything that happened between us it was nice to know I still had this effect on him.

“So I know exactly where I wanna go to eat.” I say to him smiling and grabbing his hand. I pull him off the stage toward the gates.

We walked out of the grounds and down the street. A comfortable silence fell upon us as we walked awawy from the park. The sounds of bands playing and fans screaming faded. I led him toward a small Thai place that was about a 20 minute walk from the park.

“How do you know where you’re going?” He asks with a skeptical look.

“I used to live here. I told you that; didn’t I?” I reply looking up at him.

“Not that I remember, but I guess there is a lot about each other that we still don’t know.” He says.

We fall back into silence as we finish our walk to the restaurant. The hostess leads us to a small table. We both order a beer and look over the menu. The waitress comes back and places our drinks infront of us. We order our food and begin to talk.

“So how are you liking warped this year?” He questions taking a long sip of his beer.

“It’s awesome. I get why you love performing so much. The fans are so responsive and super nice. Being up there is the best high I could ever want or need. I kind of want to start getting a little harder. I’ve been working on my screaming.” I tell him and he looks a bit surprised.

“Really? What’s making you want to do that?” He asks with curiosity lacing his voice.

“Most of the music I listen to is harder; so I am ready to try something new. I’ll still sing and cory will scream too. I just want to try it out and see how the fans take to it.” I say simply.

The rest of lunch was filled with talking about tour and what we were planning on doing once it was over. My phone vibrated a couple of times throughout notifying me of texts. I ignored them though. I was having a lot of fun catching up with Austin. I knew I missed him, but I didn’t realize exactly how much I missed having him around.

Sorry it has been so longggg since I have updated. Life has been really crazy lately, but I promise to start updating more regularly again.
