I Said I'd Never Let You Go

ELEVEN

I walked over to the management bus to get a new badge. I knocked on the door and entered it. There were about half a dozen people scattered around the front lounge. A couple of them looked up, but soon dismissed me and continued on with their work.

“Hey how can I help you?” A taller guy that looked mid-twenties asked standing up.

“I was wondering if I could get a new id badge. A couple of the security guards were giving me funny looks. I dyed my hair and they didn’t think it was me.” I explained handing him my old pass.

He looked at it then up at me before smiling.

“Good change. Blonde suits you.” He said tossing my badge into the garbage. He grabbed his laptop and began to scroll through files until he found my bands folder. He quickly took a new picture and replaced it in my file. Printing it out; he laminated it and handed it over to me. “Here you go gorgeous. Hope that clears everything up for you.”

“I’m sure it will. Thank you. Sorry to bother you.” I said before heading back toward the door of the bus.

“No problem at all Autumn. It was my pleasure.” He called after me.

After I was off the bus I made my way over to the main stage. Just my luck; Pierce the Veil was playing I groan but decided to go see the rest of them. Tony wasn’t going to ruin me being friends with the rest of the guys. Especially since Chloe and Vic were still together, and from the way things were going it wouldn’t be long before we were hearing some wedding bells.

I flash my new badge and the guard lets me by without a second glance. Walking up to the side stage area I look at each of the guys. They are playing their hearts out, but when I look at Tony I notice he’s just going through the motions. Playing the songs from habit and not actually paying attention. My heart instantly drops. Even though it was his fault that things went south between us I couldn’t help but feel bad that it was affecting his music.

“Thank you for being fucking amazing Ft. Lauderdale. It’s always a pleasure to play for you all.” Vic screams over the rambunctious crowd. They exit the stage and Vic immediately turns to Tony.

“Dude you need to snap out of it. I get that you are hurting an upset, but you need to focus on playing when we are out there. I lost count on how many times you screwed up.” Vic scolds Tony.

“Vic back off. He’s trying and you know it. You yelling at him isn’t going to fix it.” Mike says. “This isn’t the place for this conversation anyway. There are people around.” He motions toward me and I freeze hoping that they don’t recognize me.

“Whatever she’s nobody.” Vic huffs before going to put his guitar away. I know he didn’t know it was me, but his words still stung.

Mike walks over to me.

“Hey sorry about him; he takes our music really seriously and gets really upset when things don’t go perfectly.” He says to me. I look up at him and his mouth drops open. “Autumn?”

I nod before looking back down at my feet. He lifts my chin with two fingers, forcing me to look at him.

“When did you do this?” He asks playing with the ends of my hair.

“This morning. How does it look?” I ask shyly. Mike was always someone I got along really well with because he told it like it was. He didn’t feel the need to beat around the bush, he just got straight to the point no matter is feelings were going to get hurt or not. He didn’t see the point in lying to protect someone’s feeling.

“You look awesome, but you always did.” He says hugging me tightly.

“How’s he doing?” I mumble into his chest.

“He’s really hurting Autumn. He has no right to be because of what he did to you, but he;s really beating himself up about it. You know how Tony is. Every little thing affects him whether he likes to admit it or not. I’m afraid that if he keeps this up we might lose him for good.” He replies looking down at me with sad eyes.

“I need to talk to him.” I tell Mike before pulling away completely and walking over to Tony. He looks up at me for a second then continues to pack up his guitar.

“Tony do you think we could talk?” I say and his head snaps back up. Although he didn’t recognize me with my new hair; he definitely recognized my voice. He nods and stands. We walk away from the stage to a more private area. I needed to clear the air between us. He needs to know that I forgive him so he can try to forgive himself. I was hoping that by talking to him it would help him focus on stage more. He needed his music and he needed this band.

Notes

Sorry it's been a couple days. I know I am slacking on updating. I have just been feeling blah about typing up chapters lately. I have up to chapter 15 written out but I hate typing them up. :p

Hope you all are still enjoying this story. I will probably post 2 chapters tomorrow so keep an eye out.

LOVE YOU ALL <33
Josie

P.S. if any of you guys every need to talk to someone I am here. No judgement. I will listen and if you want I don't even have to say anything back. I know how it is to need to say stuff and not have anywhere to put it. So feel free to use my inbox if you want.
