I Said I'd Never Let You Go

I had my eyes closed waiting for Dawn to tell me to open them. I feel the chair spin around and Dawn tells me to look. I do as I am told peeking through my eyelids. My mouth drops open in a silent gasp.

“Oh Dawn. It looks amazing.” I say as I bring my hands up to touch my hair. I looked so different.

“You like?” She asks wearily.

“I love it! It’s so different. It is just what I needed.” I squeal before hopping out of the chair and hugging her. She smiles and hugs me back.

We walk up to the register and she rings me up. I pay and give her a big tip for everything she had done for me today. I was going to take her advice to heart. I said my goodbyes leaving the salon and heading back to the venue.

I pulled my phone back out and snapped a new picture, but decided against posting it just yet. I wanted to show everyone before I posted it online. I showed the guard at the gate my pass and he eyes me skeptically before letting me by. I made a mental not to ask management for a pass with an updated picture.

Walking through the venue with my new hair was exhilarating. No one recognized me. It reminded me of when I would go to warped as a fan rather than an artist. Enjoying the anonymity I smiled to myself and walked over to the booth to see everyone was there. I walked right up waiting to see if they recognized me.

“Hello love.” Cory said standing up. “What can I do for you?”

“Well I was wondering if I could get that green shirt in a small.” I said. He smiled and I feel eyes on me. I look up and see Jeremy looking me up and down.

“Hey gorgeous.” He smirks before coming over to me.

“Hey yourself.” I flirt back playing along.

“How about you come see me play side stage today.” He says smoothly.

“Oh I don’t know. I’m probably going to be a little busy.” I tell him and he frowns.

“Doing what? Were you planning on not seeing us play tonight?” He asks.

“No I was. I was just meaning that I would be busy singing you set Jeremy.” I laugh. He furrows his brows before looking at me very carefully.

A look of understanding washed over his features. “Autumn?”

“Bingo.”

“What did you do to your hair? I didn’t even recognize you.” He exclaims gaining the attention of the rest of the group.

“That was kinda the point dumbass. I needed a new look. Hey guys you like?” I ask them.

They all look at me with shocked faces. I smile. Just the reaction I was looking for. Chloe is the first to snap out of it.

“Autumn, you look incredible. Not that you didn’t before, but just… Wow!” She says excitedly.

“Why than you my dear.” I reply blowing her a kiss. I pulled out my phone again deciding to post the picture now.

’@WiltedAutumn: Needed a change. I’ll keep you posted on if blondes really do have more fun. It’s looking promising though.’

My phone started to blow up with notifications. Some of the guys retweeted it saying how their singer’s new look was kickass and looked amazing. I smiled they were such an amazing group of guys. They were always there for me. As I was reading through the comments I saw one from Austin.

'@AustinCarlile: Wow @ WiltedAutumn, You look gorgeous. You are definitely rocking the blonde.’

I smile to myself I needed a change and it went exactly how I wanted it too. As much as I had enjoyed the feeling of being nobody again I wanted to see the fans reactions. I told everyone that I was going to walk around for a bit before the set. Austin seemed to approve of the new color, but I was curious to see if Tony would.
