Forgive Me- Part 3

Tony's POV

Where the hell is Jaime? He was supposed to go pick up Ruby an hour ago, why isn't he back yet? I look over to Jaxin who understandably is beginning to look antsy, he is sitting on the couch just staring at nothing whilst constantly bouncing his leg.

"Want me to call him? See where he's at?" I ask Jaxin, snapping him from his staring contest with the wall.

"Nah, I'm sure everything's alright... The school hasn't called so he picked her up."

"Well I'm sure he'll be here soon" I hope anyway, I don't think Jaxin can stand this much longer.

We wait another twenty minutes as Jaxin is freaking out; rushing abound the house, calling Jaime over and over. Honestly I don't blame him. I'm freaking out myself. I walk to the front door, grab my keys of the small table beside it and open the door to head out and look for him. I can't sit in this house and watch Jaxin flip his shit over this, I need to find him.

I head over to my car and get as far as putting the key in the ignition when a car pulls in behind me blocking my exit. I mentally yell at the person behind the dark tinted glass. I NEED TO LEAVE, YOU INCONSIDERATE BASTARD.

Hang on. That's Jaime's car... Thankful I didn't actually yell at him I jump from the my car and run over to his.

"Dude, where the fuck have you been? Jaxin is losing his shit" I say.

"Tony, you are not going to believe it!" Jaime's face is almost radiating joy and holds a widespread grin. The look on his face just makes me angry. We're here freaking out while he's out having fun, not even caring about the panic he caused

"Shut up and get Ruby inside before Jaxin has a heart attack" the smile on his face faltered and he turned to the back door of the car and helped Ruby out. Ruby ran up to the house and knocked on the door. Without another word to Jaime I go up to Ruby and open the door for her, then she runs in to find her dad.

I can hear Jaxin's sigh of relief when his daughter runs into his arms. I watch them for a moment allowing myself to momentarily relish in the relief that everything was okay before I turn, once again to Jaime. He flinches away when I meet his eyes and it fills me with a small sense of pride. He deserves it. I grab his delve and drag him into a separate room where Ruby won't hear the swear words that are definitely coming.

"Okay, you better have a fucking fantastic reason for giving us both heart attacks! You’re over an hour late!" I growl

"Tony I found her!" The grin from earlier returned to his face and I knew exactly who he was talking about. There was only one person who made him that happy. Amelia.

"What?! Where?"

"Her kids go to the same school as Ruby!"

"Seriously? Did you get to meet them?"

"Yea, I saw Cale before Milly, he knew who I was! Milly told them I was their dad and he had my favourite photo of Milly and I that I thought I lost but she kept it the whole time!"

"Oh my god, I can't believe this" I say before sinking into a chair. Milly, one of my best friends. She's back. I can see her again; she can be a part of my life again. Wait. Can she? "So what happens now? Is she coming back? Do we get to see her?"

The smile disappears from Jaime's face and my heart drops. "I have no idea. She said she'd call but I didn't get her number."

"Well we know where she is now at least, and we know she's safe" I say with a sigh. Even if she doesn't want to be in our lives at least we can have the peace of mind knowing that she's okay.

"I kissed her" Jaime blurted suddenly.

"What? What did she do?"

"She kissed me back"

"So what does that mean?"

"I don't know but I think it's a good sign"

"Well yea obviously!"

We both fall silent for a minute, deep in though. A sky grin never leaving Jaime's face. I hope everything sorts itself out, that I can have my best friend back, that I can meet the kids. Alex will be so happy. He was destroyed when he found out she was gone. He though she would trust him enough to at least stay in contact with him and he stayed hopeful for almost a year that she would call him and tell him how she was. But the call never came and he never really got over it.

"Dude" I say to Jaime.

"Mmm?" He replied

"you should call Gaskarth"

"Shit, yea probably"

"Ha-ha, knowing him he'll probably fly out here" I joke

"Don't jinx it or I'll have to empty out a guest room" he laughed back.

She's not even back yet and it is already obvious how much Milly makes us all better. Jaime is smiling his trademark smile again. He hasn't smiled like that for four years and just seeing her once brings him back from the hell he's been living in since she left.

She better not hurt him again. I don't think he would survive it again.
