The past never changes

*MEL'S POV*

Kathy and I were laying on the couches watching MTV when I heard a knock on the door, I jumped up and made my way to the door.
"Are we ready?" Vic said giving me a hug, "I'll go grab my purse and we'll be outta here" I said pulling away and going upstairs, I spotted my bag on my bedside table and grabbed it, I ran downstairs "bye Kathy, I'll be back at some point tonight" I said walking to the door, Vic was waiting for me in the car, "where's mike?" I asked Vic as I crawled in the front seat, "oh, he has a "cold" and didn't want to spread the germs to our parents" he said putting on his seatbelt I did the same and we were on our way.


3 AND A HALF HOURS LATER


"wakey wakey, we're here" Vic said lightly shaking my arm, I opened my eyes,
"Can't I just sleep while you have dinner with your family?" I moaned in buckling my seatbelt, "no you have to meet them" he whined, "but they're just gonna hate me" I said getting out of the car.

"well its too late now because we're already here" he said grabbing my hand, he pulled me to the front door of this average sized house,
He rang to doorbell, I hid behind him, a lady about the same height as Vic with short blonde welcomed us, "hey mom" Vic said hugging the person who was obviously his mother, "aww, vickey I missed you" she said squeezing him, Vic pulled away and stepped to the side where I was clearly visible, my anxiety started to rise,
"mom this is Melony" Vic said rubbing my back, "oh dear, its so nice to meet you" she said giving me a hug, "you too Mrs. Fuentes" I said awkwardly hugging her back,
"You can call me Vivian" she said letting go of me, Vic held my hand and we followed Vic's mom to the dinner table, "dinner will be done any minute now" she said leaving us sitting at the table.

"Vic, have you told her how old I was?" I asked quietly so she didn't hear me,
"Not yet, I thought we could tell her at some point today" he whispered,
"What if she's disgusted with me when she finds out?" I asked,
"She will just have to accept the fact that I love you, and nothing will change my mind"
He said squeezing my hand, "thank you Vic" I said rubbing his fingers.

I heard feet coming down the staircase, then a quite Mexican looking man appeared,
"Hey dad" Vic said standing up and walking over to his dad," its nice to see you Vic"
They both walked back to the dining room, I stood up and Vic grabbed my hand,
"This is Melony" he said, "hi" almost too quiet to hear, "its nice to meet you" he said hugging me, these people like to hug a lot .

we sat down and waited for dinner.
"So what happened to mike?" Vic's father asked, "oh yeah, he had a cold and didn't want to spread germs" Vic said, actually it was just because he didn't want to come,
"oh" he said not really believing the lie Vic had just told him, Mike must do this quite often.

"Vic, dear can you help me with dinner" Vivian called from the kitchen,
Vic hopped up "I'll be right back" he said walking to the kitchen.
I was left in the dining room with just Vic's dad.
