What Are Friends?

In the morning Tony dropped me home and told me to pick him up at 8 tonight to go to this party thats supposed to be great.

"Morning beautiful" Dad hugged me when I walked in.

"Hey Dad" I smiled.

"Your Mother called" He sighed

Mom and I hardly see each other. Last year I told her it was me or her loser boyfriend and well she chose him. I still can't believe she would chose that idiot over her own god damn daughter and everytime I think about it, it gets me worked up.

"What did she want?" I asked walking straight to the fridge.

"She said she still has a bunch of your stuff at her house and she wants you to pick it up, they're moving to New Jersey!"

They as in my Mom, her psychotic boyfriend Hayden and his son Mason, I feel sorry for his son having to have a drop kick father.

"I'll pick it up later today" I said grabbing a tub of ice cream out of the freezer.

"Did you know they got married?" He said taking the ice cream out of my hand and putting it back.

"I was going to eat that! Oh and had no idea" I sighed "She doesn't tell me anything Dad, says I almost ruined her relationship which was the plan."

I grabbed the ice cream again and ran to my room grabbing a spoon on the way. I looked at the time to see it was 1pm so I had ages. I killed time by studying for my english exam.

"Ugh!" I yelled throwing my books across the room after 5 hours of non stop study.

I took a shower and got ready. I put on a short black dress that clung to my body and my hair was straightened and the front and fringe was curled. My make up was thick and dark and I actually liked the way I looked .

"Tone I'm coming over" I said on the phone.

"I only just woke up!" He said groggily.

"Well hurry up because we need to go get something from my Moms house before we go" I sighed.

"I'll be ready in like 10 minutes" He said before hanging up.

I grabbed some money and my phone and left telling dad I wont be home tonight.

I waited outside Tonys house for about 5 minutes before he came running out wearing black jeans a white shirt and vans.

"Hey" he said jumping in the passenger seat.

"Hey shit head" I joked.

I drove off and headed towards my moms house while he fiddled with my stereo. When we got there I asked Tony to come in with me or it would be supper awkward. I knocked on the front door and waited for a reply. Mason answered with a huge big smile.

"Amily! I haven't seen you in ages!!" He yelled hugging my waist. Mason is 7 years old. "Whos this? Is this your boyfriend?" He asked.

"This is Tony, Mas. You remember him?" I asked.

"Yeah but he didn't have those earings and lip earings" He said confused.

"Hey buddy" Tony smiled.

"Wheres Mom?" I asked looking into the house, it was messy as per usual.

"MOOOOOOM!" He yelled before going back inside to watch cartoons.

"what?!" She yelled back.

"Amily's here"

Mom appeared and she disappeared again before coming back out with a box of shit.

"Here" she said handing it towards me. I took it and she walked away.

"Gee thanks Mom, I'm doing great! Oh I heard you got married thats brilliant! You remember Tony right? Yeah schools fine I'm getting straight A's Thanks for asking how my lifes going since I haven't seen you in a year" I said sarcastically.

"Amily don't start this shit with me, you lef-"

"No Mom you left us for that psychopathic idiot and you expected everything to be the same! Nothing was the same Mom! I put up with your shit for 3 years, I'm your daughter, your only child. You were supposed to love me." I picked up the box and walked out.

"Oh hey look the little slut came home!" I heard Hayden say.

"This is not me home. It never fucking was and never will be." I glared at him.

"You working the corner tonight? you sure are dressed for it, is this your boy toy?" He asked pointing at Tony.

"Dude leave her alone she's been through enough of your shit" Tony stood up for me.

We left before everything got worse. All we could hear walking back to the car were insults from both of them.

"You did good" Tony said kissing me on the forehead.

"Thanks" I said with a forced smile.

I'm so happy I moved back to my dads last year. When I was 12 I got told I had to make a choice in who I wanted to live with and I thought it would be fun living with my Mom but she changed.

"Ooooh I found Amily's diary!" Tony teased.

"Don't you dare!" I slammed on the brake and grabbed my diary from when I was like 13.

"Awwww please?" he begged. I sat on the diary so he couldn't get it.

We picked up the others at spot on 8 and then arrived at the party 20 minutes later.

"Whats up?!" Mike yelled as we arrived and everybody cheered. So much for no one even liking them.

When Sara, Caitlin and Abby arrived no one cheered in fact not many people noticed. Abby came and said Hi to me and the guys and we hung out most the night. Abby told me how she's sick of Sara and Caitlins shit and how she wants to hang out with us. We all agreed that she can.

I'm really happy Abby has real friends now, she deserves it. Just like I deserve to get drunk after the shit that went down with Mom today so thats exactly what I did. I woke up the next morning in the back seat of my car with Vic, Mike, Tony, Jaime and Abby all jammed in the back as well.
