What Are Friends?

"Amily, come here" Sara said sweetly.

"Hey" I smiled and sat down at the table.

"We need to talk about plans for tonight, cancel everything we're having an emergency sleep over" Caitlin announced. Even though I had plans with my family tonight I guess I have to cancel.

"Cool, what are we doing?" I smiled.

"Movie night, I was thinking greasy food and sweet drinks?" Abby asked.

"Sounds good! umm who's house?" I questioned hoping it wasn't Sara's, her parents hate me.

"Mine" Abby giggled. She hardly hosts these little sleep over things but when she does they're always great.

"And we can turn up at that party on saturday together, get ready at my house then leave at say 8?" Caitlin asked.

"Oh I told the guys I would go with them" I said awkwardly.

"Oh my gosh Amily! You'll become one of them" Sara scoffed.

I shrugged "They've been my friends forever"

"Are they even invited? nobody likes them" Caitlin smirked.

I just laughed feeling guilty that I'm talking about them behind their back.

"Whats up with those earings in Tonys ears umm ew" Caitlin adds.

"Yeah" I said shifting my eyes. The bell rang signaling lunch was over.

"Meet at my locker" Abby smiled sweetly before they walked off.

I got to history and took my seat waiting for Mike. When he finally got here 5 minutes late may I add, I told him all about how I have a 'sleep over' with the girls. He made gagging sounds saying things like "lets paint our nails and braid our hair" We burst into a fit of giggles getting us sent out of class.


"What do you even do at those sleep overs?" Mike asked as we sat in the hall throwing paper planes.

"Um sleep?" I said sarcastically.

"Well obviously. But like what else?" He concentrated hard on making the perfect plane before flying down the hall. He looked at me waiting for an answer and as soon as I started talking he started on another plane.

"We mostly just watch movies with sexy actors and eat greasy food" I shrugged.

"Do you guys like I dont know touch each other?" He smirked.

"Mike!" I punched him in the arm "You're sick!"

He laughed "It was just a question, which by the way you didn't answer"

"No Mike we do not" I poked my tongue at him. "You're such an idiot" I laughed.

Once the bell rang I gave Mike a hug and walked to Abby's locker.

"Hey" I waved walking over.

She sighed slamming her books into her locker.

"Everything alright?" I asked confused by her rage.

"I'm failing math" she sighed. I gave her a hug because I know how important school is to her family.

"Hey don't worry they'll understand" I said soothing her.

"You obviously don't know my family! My sisters a big shot lawyer, my brothers a doctor and I'm FAILING SCHOOL!" she yelled the last bit and slammed her locker door sliding down to the ground.

"I'll tutor you?" I offered.

"Really?" she asked hopefully. I'm getting straight A's in all my subjects at the moment so It cant be that hard to tutor her.

"sure, we'll sort something out" I smiled. Sara and Caitlin arrived

"We're taking my car so you guys can go together or whatever" She shrugged walking past us with Caitlin at her side.

Abby gave her a look like "No bitch don't you tell me what to do" before she looked at me and said "She controls Caitlin, she's Sara's little slave. Sara says jump and she more than just jumps."

I smiled at her. Finally somebody gets me. Abby would have to be my best friend out of the girls.

"Do you ever just say things to try and fit in but you dont actually mean it?" She asked me.

"All the time" I sighed.

"Me too, I hate talking about people and being mean" I couldn't help but think that she might have been talking about what she says about Vic, Mike, Tony and Jaime.

"It feels horrible" I agree.

Abby drove me home to get some clothes and stuff before we went to the store to get snacks. Our entire basket was loaded with Doritos, Candy corn, Oreos, Marsh mellow Fluff, all the essential candy and food. We got cupcake mix and ice cream and the drinks we got were grape and orange soda. Tonights gonna be so much fun.

We stopped at the movie shop and grabbed a heap of movies with the sexiest actors we could find.

Once we got to Abbys house Sara and Caitlin were already there.

"Finally!" Sara screeched. She was now dressed in the shortest high waisted shorts I've ever seen and half top that only showed a bit of her tummy. Caitlin jumped off the couch wearing the same but white shorts.

"We stopper to get snacks" I laughed holding up the grocery bag.

She rolled her eyes "Whatever, we need to talk"

"Okay well we'll set everything up, Mom will be home with pizza soon" Abby said as I put the snacks on the bench.

"Hey girls" Abbys Mom beamed as she walked in holding the pizza above her head. "pizzas here" She laughed.

After we ate we decided to go for a walk to the park. Abby and I were swinging on the swing while Caitlin and Sara were on the merry go round spinning thing, whatever thats actually called.

"Sara can be so mean sometimes" Abby whispered. I looked over at Sara and she was going on about how some girl on the slide had a horrible outfit on.

"That girl shes talking abouts like 12" I said.

"She's honestly so rude! One minute she's sweet then all of a sudden boom shes horrible"

"Tell me about it, Caitlin's actually really nice but she tries to be too much like Sara and acts so nasty" I added.

"We should tell them tonight" She said warily.


Once we got home we got into our pajama's. I wore sweat pants and a half top, Abby wore a tank top and shorts, Caitlin wore a half top and pajama pants and Sara wore an over sized t shirt.

We were all laying comfortably on the blow up beds set up in the living area watching a movie when Sara said. "We need to talk"

"Yea we do" Abby looked at me.

"Oh, well you go first" Sara said with a forced smile.

"Okay so I'm not sure how to say this but Amily and I have been talking and we both agree that well Sara, you can be a total bitch sometimes. Like there's absolutely no need for you to be that nasty and Caitlin you just follow along with it and it actually kinda sucks, it makes us feel bad" She said with a worried look on her face.

"I'm a bitch am I? Well Amily you're the one that ditches us all the time to hang out with those fake 'friends' of yours" She practically yelled.

"Okay they're not fake in fact they're real. They're real friends and real human beings. You're fake! With your fake attitude and fake eye lashes and seriously if anyone saw you behind all that make up they'll probably be shocked at how ugly you really are and I'm not talking about how ugly your beauty is I'm talking about how ugly your personality is" I said standing up.

She stood up and gave me an evil look. "Choose" She said nodding her head towards me in a challenging way. "Choose who you want to be friends with...them or us"

I picked up my bag and put my hoodie on before throwing the bag over my shoulders.

"It's obvious it isn't you!" I said before storming out.

I got to Abbys front gate and called Mike to pick me up. Once he got there he took me back to his house.

"Oh darling what happened between you and those girls?" Mrs Fuentes said hugging me as I walked in the door.

"They said I had to choose between them or Mike and Vic and the other boys Mamma I chose the boys they're real friends not like Sara and Caitlin" I sighed.

"I'm happy you chose the boys. Now put that beautiful smile back on your face and go in the living room, they're all waiting for you" She said hurrying me into the room.

When I walked in I saw them all in their pajamas eating candy. These idiots really are my true friends.
