Is This The End I Feel?

Stephanie Lewis.

"Steph, c'mon we're meeting Lee" Matt said coming into his bedroom. I looked up for a second then threw my head back down on the pillow.

"I don't wanna go anywhere today Matt" I mumbled. I felt the bed shift underneath me, Matts face appeared infront of mine.

"Please come, Lee has an idea and well, you need to get out of that bed Steph. I'm worried" He kissed me on the forehead. How can he be so together about this? I know he's trying to be strong for me but seriously, he hasn't shown any emotion since Oli told him about Casey dying.

"I don't wanna leave" I whispered. He looked at me and sighed.

"For me" He begged. I didn't hesitate to sit up and hug him.

"Okay, I'll come" I mumbled against his neck. I could feel his grip on me tighten, which made me feel more safe about the situation. We were going to get through this.

"Thank you" He kissed me quickly. He left the room and I began to get changed into presentable clothes, since my attire for the last two days happened to be one of Casey's humongous Drop Dead shirts. I refused to go back to the flat, except one trip I made where I took this shirt. Other than that I couldn't bring myself to stay in that flat for more than twenty minutes. I pulled a pair of jeans out of my drawers, an old shirt and hoody and put them on myself.

I walked over to the mirror and groaned at the sight of myself. I had bags under my eyes from lack of sleep and they were red, puffy messes from the amount of crying I have done recently. The small effort I was making today was pathetic but I slapped on a bit of make-up on then left the room. Matt was waiting for me in the living room, I sauntered over to where my shoes were and put them on. "Let's go" I nodded towards the door.

Matt grabbed my hand and we walked out of our flat together. The silence between us almost felt natural, something I just couldn't bare to feel right now. My head was filled with stupid questions about what happened to my bestfriend. We got to Matt's car and he drove us into town. The silence continued, it was almost deafening. It made me feel sick. When the starbucks sign came into view my stomach dropped, I couldn't face anything to do with discussing Casey right now. "Come on Steph" I heard Matt say softly, I climbed out the car and waited for Matt.

"I'm tired, and this is too much. How can you be okay to do this? I'm dying inside and she was only my bestfriend" I stopped him. Matt looked at me and shut his eyes tight.

"I'm trying my hardest to keep it together for you Steph, you are my world and I want to be strong for you. You spent the last 3 years with her and I know it's gonna be hard for you to deal with this" He kissed me and then pulled me into the shop. I spotted Lee sitting in a booth.

"Right mate" He said standing up and hugging Matt. He turned to me and engulfed me in his arms. "You alright there?" He asked.

"I'm okay" I mumbled. I sat down and Matt went to get a us some drinks. He knows my order, he always has known it.

"How you really holding up?" He asked, looking to see if Matt was in earshot.

"I feel like crying every second of the day, my head is exploding and my heart is breaking. I miss her" I mumbled, playing with the hem of my hoody in order to distract myself from crying.

"I feel awful too, I went to Oli's earlier and he's proper mess. He's not sleeping and I think he's just getting drunk most of the time" Lee explained. Matt placed the drinks on the table and sat down. "But I got an idea. Casey said that the person texting her didn't show up" He told me.

"Are you thinking she lied to us?" Matt asked, furrowed brow.

"No one knows about Casey's death yet" Lee pointed out. He went into his pocket and pulled out her phone and placed it on the table.

"What, how did you get that?" Matt raised his eyebrow.

"I was at Oli's earlier, I got an idea" Lee picked up the phone and began doing something.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"There is an unread text saying 'have you made your mind up?' So I'm replying. Telling them to meet us here now" Lee smiled at me.

"What do we do now?" I asked. I looked between them for answers but they just simply shrugged.

2 coffees later, we finally recieved a text. 'I'll be there in a minute'. "This'll be interesting..." Matt stared at the doorway.

After a few minutes, the door opened and Lisa fucking Silvers walked in. "No way" I sighed.

She looked around confused until she spotted us. She walked over to our booth with a huge grin on her face. "Hey guys, you wouldn't happen to know where Casey is? We need to have a little catch up" She said sweetly.

"Well, for the past two days my sister has been in a fucking morgue" Matt spat. I watched Lisa's expression grow with confusion.

"What? I don't understand" She shook her head.

"She died on Christmas day" Lee said bluntly.

"Oh my God" She sat down next to Lee. "I can't believe it" She was clearly faking it. She didn't give a shit. I watched Lee do something with the phone under the table. "Seriously why did no one tell me?" She asked.

"You're not exactly her or our friend" Matt pointed out. A ringing blared from Lisa's bag. She dived into it and pulled out her phone, not even checking before she answered it.

"Hello?" She said cheerfully.

Lee placed Casey's phone to his ear and said "Hi Lisa". She quickly hung up the call and looked between us.

"What do you know?" She asked, looking scared.

Lee placed the phone on the table and sighed. "You are a lying little bitch" He mumbled.

"I haven't done anything" Lisa defended herself.

"Of course you'd say that, not as though Casey can confirm" I spat at her. She made a face at me and rolled her eyes.

"I think you black mailed her, you wanted something from her. Oli I presume?" Lee turned to look at Lisa.

"No, I didn't" She looked scared now. "I didn't do anything" She mumbled.

"Then why did Casey write a note on Oli's Christmas present saying 'give to Oli if you decide to stay' or something along those lines? Here's a little newsflash for you Lisa, he never actually wanted you!" Lee snapped.

I've never seen him like this before. "I didn't know she was going to die" She sighed. We all looked at her with shock.

"Wait what?" I asked.

"I spoke to her last week and I told her I knew she was ill... I didn't think it was this bad" She explained.

"How did you know she was ill?" Matt asked, confusion all over his face. I think it bothered him that Casey kept it a secret that she was ill.

"My mum works as a nurse in the doctors office that Casey was seeing. She was really ill but chose to ignore it" Lisa said, trying her hardest to look sad.

I looked at Matt for reassurance, he didn't look like he was buying it. "Just get out of here" Matt mumbled to Lisa. "Never come near any of us again".

She did as she was told and left. "We have to tell the police. Her mum is a nurse, she knew Casey was ill. What happened to doctor/patient confidentiality? She is so involved in this" Lee shook his head. He was right. She had to be, scheming little bitch.
