Hearing that someone you know has died is bad. Hearing that your bestfriend from childhood has died is the most heartbreaking thing to find out on Christmas day. It was probably the worst thing I ever had to deal with. Listening to my friends cry, hearing how hurt they were. It made me sick, knowing she is just gone and no one even knows why? It's bullshit.

Today we were going to find out the post-mortem, why Casey suddenly just died. It shouldn't have happened. She didn't have to just die. I mean how does someone just suddenly die? You don't just die like that. She was with Oli. She did say that the person who had been texting her pretending to be Oli didn't show up. Maybe she was lying. What if it was something to do with that? I had to find out.

I was currently on the way to Oli's house. He was a wreck, clearly. It was difficult seeing him like this, but also seeing the hurt he felt and knowing I felt it too. No one knew the truth, no one knew exactly how I felt about Casey. People just assumed I was just her best friend but secretly, I was in love with her. I couldn't ever do anything about it, she was always too wrapped up in her drama with Oli to even think about telling her how I felt. Also the big obvious there was, she was meant to be with Oli. They were perfect together, and saying that I gave him the freedom to have his own happiness with her. I guess that's true friendship.

I stared at Oli's door, scared to even go inside, knowing Casey died in there. I bit the bullet and knocked on the door. After a few seconds the door opened and Oli appeared behind it. "Hey" He mumbled. I looked at his bloodshot eyes. He had been crying.

"Hey man, can I come in?" I asked, trying to sound as normal as possible. It broke my heart knowing he was this torn about it all. Of coursr we were all devastated but it was differen I guess. I loved Casey but she was something I couldn't have, Oli had her and they were finally happy.

"Course" He opened the door wider for me to get in. I looked around his flat and it was a mess. Clothes lying everywhere, beer bottles. It looked as though he was sleeping in the livingroom too. His covers and pillows were on the couch.

"How you holdin' up?" I asked, sitting down on the couch across from the other, where Oli collapsed onto it.

"My wife died two days ago, I feel like shit" He laughed. I felt sorta sad at his tone, he was in pain and I wish I could do something to help him out.

"I know man, it's tough but you'll get through it" I tried to sound optimistic.

"What do you want Malia?" He groaned, rubbing his eyes.

"I need to borrow your guitar tuner" I made up on the spot. He raised an eyebrow at me.

"Lead guitarist of Bring Me the Horizon needs to borrow the singers guitar tuner? How ever did we make it this far?" He rolled his eyes sarcastically. "It's in my room".

"Thanks" I said, standing up quickly and walking over to his room. I closed the door behind me and felt a slight eerie feeling wash over me. Casey died in this room. Quickly I began scanning his room until I spotted Casey's phone. I don't know why he kept it but it was sorta helpful to me actually. I walked over to the dresser where the phone was sitting and picked it up and put it in my pocket.

I had to find the tuner now in order to make this look believable. While searching I accidently knocked over a box and it fell under the bed. Kneeling down to get the box, I noticed Casey's bag under the bed. It was open and a letter with a long thin box were sitting inside. The letter had Oli's name on it. I pulled them both out and noticed a small tag on the box. 'If you grow the balls to stay, give to Oli on Christmas Casey'. Oli is too hurt to get this present so I'll leave it on his bed for now. With the letter in hand, I left Oli's room and walked over to him. His eyes were closed so I guess he passed out from exhaution. I placed the letter on his chest and left the flat. He won't even notice that I didn't take the tuner, I just hope he doesn't notice I took Casey's phone.

When I got back to my car I felt my phone ringing, I quickly answered it noticing that it was Matt. "Hey Matt, what's up?" I asked. I knew why he was calling, I just didn't wanna seem to eager to know.

"The coroner called, post-mortem is back" Matt signed. I took a deep breath. "Casey had a brain tumor, which should've been noticed. A simple surgery could have fixed it all and saved her life but somehow, the doctors never knew. There was a chemical in her blood, that sped up the mutation and it basically killed her. They havr no idea how it happened and the police are getting involved" Matt finished.

"Wait, so she was murdered?" I asked, shock oozing from my tone.

"That's what they think but who would want to kill Casey?" Matt sighed.

"I think I might have an idea Matt. Meet me at starbucks in town in half an hour" I told him.

"Okay, see you then dude" Matt hung up and I started the car. We were going to fix this and find out who done this to our Casey.
