I've Got Real Friends

After I told Vic about my mother he didn't know what to say. He just held me and we sat there for a while. I was still in shock myself. Little things that my 'mom' had said were starting to make sense to me now. She knew Taylor. Taylor was her sister I've found out. It said so in the file that Patrick gave me. So what would drive my 'parents' to never speak of her? Was it the pregnancy? The career path she chose? Surely Taylor didn't want to go into burlesque. I don't think anyone plans that.
Where she lived and worked was so close. I can't not go there. Even if I stay in LA for a few weeks. I could put my work on hold. It'd be okay. I just need to talk Vic round. He's always so reluctant to leave me when he's at home. I think part of him is proud. He waited so long to call me his 'girl', he doesn't want anything to happen to change that.
But Vic and I are in a strange place. We've gotten past the stage of being so star struck with one another that we can't keep our hands off of one another. I'm able to see him get out of the shower without throwing him up against the wall and taking my clothes off. Just like Vic is able to watch me change without getting too excited.
What's next though? I love Vic obviously. I love him with all my heart. I'm sure he loves me the same back. But where do you go from there? I definitely don't want a baby yet. Not after how much my 'parents' fucked up with me. I don't know how Vic feels. We haven't spoke about it.
There's always marriage. But does Vic want that? He's away so much. I'm not really sure if he's does. I can't even imagine him proposing. He'd probably just leave the ring somewhere for me to find. I can't think about this.
There's nothing really stopping me from going to LA for a week or two. I've come to Mike because I'm not sure if I really want to approach the subject with Vic yet. Not until I'm sure about everything at least.
I knocked the door of Mike's apartment and he let me in. He was shirtless with a cigarette hanging from his mouth. I rolled my eyes and Mike smirked back at me. He took a drag and grinned. "Hey Drella." he said and exhaled the smoke in my face.
"You're such a dick." I punched his arm. I pushed past him and went inside the apartment. I went into the sitting room and sat down on the couch. Mike went to get us drinks and sat down next to me. "Thanks." I told him.
"So, what's up?" Mike asked.
"I need your advice." I said.
"It's not about Vic again, is it? Because what he likes to do with you in your bedroom seriously don't bother me. He tells me everything anyway."
"What? Did he tell you about last week?" I gasped.
"Yeah." Mike smirked. "Can't believe you did it."
"Shut up." I snapped. I put my head down and bit my lip. "Can I talk now?" I asked.
"Go on." he urged.
"So I found out who my real mom is." I explained.
"Shit. Really? That's great!" he smiled brightly.
"Or I know where she worked."
"Oh. Is that all you know?"
"Basically." I nodded. "I've been thinking about going to LA where she worked to see if I can get some more answers."
"Do it." Mike said. "Where did she work by the way?"
"Don't tell anyone. And don't laugh." I warned.
"I promise." he said and I raised my eyebrows. "I mean it." he added.
"She was a dancer . . . Of the exotic variety." I said awkwardly.
"Your mom was a stripper!" he exclaimed.
"No." I snapped. Mike had a stupid smirk on his stupid face. "She was a burlesque dancer. It's completely different."
"No, it isn't."
"Anyway, that's where she worked. Patrick said that she might have changed her name. But I won't know anything unless I go to LA."
"What was you thinking of doing?" Mike asked.
"Renting an apartment for two weeks. I just want to see how she lived and what it was like."
"That sounds like a good idea." he nodded.
"What do you think Vic would think?"
"He'd be sad you're not here. But we're not touring for a while so he'd be okay with it. He knows you're never going to listen to him anyway."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well, you're Drella."
"Care to elaborate?" I asked and rolled my eyes.
"You're just Drella. You don't listen to him. That's why he likes you. You're I don't know . . . free. You're still that cool, rebellious, completely hot chick that he crushed on ever since you sat with him. Or at least you are to my brother." Mike tried to explain.
"Accept I'm not like that anymore."
"You are." he countered. "Okay your tits aren't as north as when you were seventeen and you've got rid of that shirt with the pentagram on it." he said, making me laugh. "But if you meet other girls Vic dated you're so different to them."
"What were they like?" I asked.
"They were . . . well, like Vic. After you left he refused to date anyone like you. Even if he searched he'd never find anyone like you. You were so different, and besides even if he did he wouldn't love them like he loved you. So he dated girls that were like him. And I don't know if you've noticed but Vic isn't the most adventurous and reckless guy." he explained. I laughed and nodded. "You're probably the best thing to happen to him for a while." Mike told me.
"I love him." I shrugged.
"He loves you too."
"So, overall you say go to LA?" I asked.
"Yeah." he nodded. "Do it and bring me back a souvenir."
"I'll pick you up a fridge magnet or something." I shrugged.
"I was thinking more a stripper from that burlesque club. But fridge magnet is okay too I guess." he joked.
"I'll see you later." I told him. Mike followed me out and I waved to him. I walked down the corridor and to the elevator. I think I needed that.

Notes

Hey! Sorry it took so long. I don't really have an excuse. . . But if you can think of a good one tell me and I'll use it next time ;) what did you think? Some Drella/Mike time. Do you think Vic wants marriage and children? Do you think Drella does? What will Vic think of her going to LA? :)

I love this series. You really need to write a sequel AND vics pov. You are seriosuly the best writer I have come across on this site. You've made me laugh, cry, and even angry.

I've spent all day reading this series! I had to endure my internet just randomly quitting on me about three times. I'm on vacation, so I'm pretty sure everyone thinks I'm a total loser, but it was so worth it! I would love to read any sort of sequel if you still have one planned.
