One last goodbye

After a crazy night we had. We god dressed in our matching band merch, and our pink vans. We walked towards the beach and got some frozen yogurt. “Please won’t you push me fire the last time.” My ringtone played. It was a number I didn’t know so I answered it. “Hello?” I answered. Alice looked at me and walked away leaving me all by myself. “Oh hey sorry!” someone said quick jumping to the phone. “Uhm...ha. Who is this?” I paused. Thought about their. When all of a sudden, someone came up behind me. They twirled my hair and I quick jumped up and hung up the phone. “I think I’m trying too hard.” Vic said smiling brighter than ever. “Just a bit.” I giggled, greeting him warmly. I still don’t understand why he likes a girl like me. I didn’t think much about it, but I enjoyed the time we all had. Taking pictures. Eating ice cream riding skateboards. Vic was being super sweet and really nice. He complimented on all of the street performers, and encouraged them. All was well until I received a call. “Melissa…” I the voice answered.“It’s me, your father.”
I quick hung up the phone and hid my face in my hands. Everyone looked confused I wished I could run away and hide from the world like I normally do. Why is he coming to find me now? What the hell, I thought. I sat there for a good 10 minutes before I said anything back. I couldn’t hear anything; all I could hear is the thumping of my heart. I slowly looked up and a swarm of people were looking at me. “What!” I barked, everyone jumped, except for Vic. He sat there, smiling, stroking my hair. I wiped my eyes and smiled back, I put my arms around him in a loving embrace, he hugged me back and we stayed there for a while until I pulled away. “Let’s all go to my house.” I said in a bubbly tone. Alice reached her hands out for the both of us.
On our way back to the Jeep, we stopped to get some more frozen yogurt. The night was slowly approaching and I just wanted the day to end. On our way home, nobody said a word. “How can my dad do something like this to me?” I thought, braiding my hair. “So what are we going to do at our house?” Alice questioned. I smiled, “well we can do whatever we want!” “I’m excited!” Vic said cheerfully. WE all talked in the car being funny! We pulled up to the street where I said my house was. “No my house is up here. “ I said. Vic looked at me with glassy, wide bright eyes. I could stare at them all night. As we both sat there, his eyes, slowly flickered out, like a burning candle. Then I snapped out of it and jumped out of the car. I fell on my hands and knees. “God dammit!” I screamed. I stood up and my knees were bleeding.I started to laugh I bit. “Oh clumsy me.” I joked. I walked inside my house and rushed to the bathroom. I sat on the counter and turned on the water. The cold iceberg like water ran down my calf, giving me goose bumps. I turned off the water and reached for the band aids on the top shelf.“CREAK” I heard the bathroom door open. “How’s your knee?” Vic questioned. With ought answering I showed him my knees.“Whoa so real battle wounds!” he teased. I punched him playfully, and we laughed. We talked about our friendship. “Thank you….” I was lost for words. He was everything I wanted and more. We just met and now we have dates on the beach. I feel at ease now. Vic smiled and kissed me lightly on the cheek. “I think I like you…” he said softly, in a relaxing tone that just made me want to melt in his loving embrace.“I think I like you to.” I replied pulling away. We smiled and held hands. His fingers brushed through my hair. “Vi-….” Was all I had time to say before he shut me up with a kiss? I closed my eyes and let this moment ride.Until my phone rang. “I sighed, “hello?” “Melissa!” the voice seemed startled.“Why did you hang up on me?” I immediately knew who it was and quickly got up. “Uh hey sorry I got to go.” I stuttered. “ no no no!” I yelled.
