What Happened?

Chapter Four

Vic sat silent throughout the whole story.
“How was the conflict resolved?” The woman asked. Kellin looked annoyed but answered her question.
“I’m getting to that,” He snapped keeping his arms crossed.
~6 years earlier~
“Vic are you alright,” Mike asked me as I walked in the front door of the house. I looked at him and nodded not really in the mood to speak I didn’t say anything as I stumbled up the stairs and went straight to bed after acknowledging that it was 1:00 am.
I saw the door creek open, the light spilling into the room from the hallway.
“I thought you were going to be at Kellin’s tonight after the wedding,” I heard Mike’s voice from the doorway. I sighed and sat up.
“We had an argument,” I stated. He sat next to me on the bed and pat my back.
“Do I need to kill a bitch?” He asked trying to lighten the tone, I would have chuckled but I couldn’t find the will to. I just shook my head and plopped back down on the bed.
“What happened?” Mike questioned cautiously.
“Oli,” I sighed. “He tried to get me back and said some vulgar things to me and Kellin so he punched the twat and now that I think about it I made a bigger deal out of it than it was.” I covered my face with my hands.
“You should go talk to him then,” Mike suggested.
“He’s probably asleep,” I breathed.
“Then talk to him tomorrow,” he stated standing back up. “Goodnight, little big bro,” with that he left my room. I eventually heard the click of my door shutting and my room was pitch black again.
I tossed and turned for a good hour or so, I couldn’t fall asleep with the guilt eating away at me. I could be in his arms right now hearing his adorable soft snores but no I fucked it up. I lay on my back and stared at the ceiling blankly thinking of ways to apologize to Kellin. I was snapped out of my thoughts however by the thud I heard outside my window. I slowly got up out of bed and made my way to the window. I yanked the old worn out curtains out of the way and was met with the only thing I wanted at the precise moment.
-present-
“Still can’t believe the dipshit stood outside my house at three a.m.” Vic spoke up and nudged Kellin gently with his elbow.
The corners of Kellin’s lips curled up in a half smile but soon turned back to his emotionless face giving Vic just a sliver of hope.
“So is there any pent up rage at all from that incident?” The therapist spoke up.
“Not for me,” Kellin mumbled leaning back into the couch and crossing his arms. Vic tensed up a little suddenly aware of the situation again. The Mexican just shook his head.
“Is there anything you would still like to bring up from it?” She asked.
Kellin and Vic sat silent for a minute thoughtfully. Vic shook his head and kept his gaze on the floor.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Kellin asked after a minute or so of a deafening silence his voice wavering a little. Vic turned and looked at him confused.
“Tell you what?” he asked. The girl smiled at the communication.
“…That Oli was your ex?” Kellin clarified eyebrows furrowed.
“I-I told you I didn’t think it mattered and I didn’t want you to be uncomfortable in the situation,” Vic answered quietly hesitantly making eye contact with the pale boy.
“Well it kind of hurt that you didn’t share that with me…” Kellin mumbled breaking eye contact and avoiding Vic’s gaze. Vic averted his gaze to the floor of the office. They both knew that at this point that it wasn’t relevant but there was just something that felt good about clarifying it.
“So what did you guys do after Kellin showed up?” She spoke up eventually spoke up.
“What’s your name?” Kellin avoided the question and asked the therapist.
“Tay,” she answered simply.
“Well, Tay…”
The front door swung open to reveal a smiling Vic, I couldn’t get the smile off of my face either. He ran into my arms and I gladly held him. It was like a scene out of a cheesy romance movie but that’s pretty much what we were at this point and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
-present-
“Pretty sure neither of us got any sleep that night,” Kellin said looking at the tan boy next to him. “I’m so stupid,” he muttered under his breath barely audible
“Why?” Tay asked catching his little comment.
“Because I fucked up the best thing that has ever happened to me!” Kellin stood up. Vic kept his gaze on the floor.
“I need to go take a breath of fresh air,” He commented and with that Kellin stormed out of the room.
