Without You There Is No Me

Twenty Three

My head hurt so bad. It wouldn't surprise me if it were bleeding. I went to feel it with my hand but I couldn't. My hand was caught. I gasped and opened my eyes. I looked around and saw I was lying on a bed. My wrists were binded to the bed with thick leather belts. I tried to get free but the belts only dug painfully into my wrists.
"Finally, you're awake." Carrie said. I saw her standing by the window. I looked around now. I was in an outdated bedroom. The wallpaper was faded, as was the stained floral carpet.
"Let me go." I said through gritted teeth.
"I couldn't do that, my darling," she laughed. "I'm having far too much fun."
"Carrie, you don't have to do this." I said and she burst out laughing. High, screeching peals that filled the room.
"I don't know what is more amusing. You sensing how close you are - again - to dying. Or that you actually believe your great, great, granddaughter is doing this of her own free will."
"Sorry, I thought any demon worth much spoke in the old language." I hissed. Carrie came to me and got into my face. She grasped it painfully. I tried to pull away but I couldn't.
"You're wrong." Carrie growled dangerously. "Now please be quiet."
"I don't think so." I laughed darkly and then spat up in her face. She wiped it angrily and then leant on my arm. She leant on it harder and harder. "Stop!" I yelled. Carrie laughed and then backed away from me.
"There's a fire downstairs. Soon it'll come right up. What a clean way for both of you. This time I will make sure that you won't come back."
"Go back to hell." I spat. She went to come near me again. She tore at my shirt but backed away urgently. I laughed and looked down at the crucifix Vic had brought me after I had taken care of the demon in the church. "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak." I said loudly. I watched Carrie glare and growl at me from across the room. "Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." I said. "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." I repeated.
"No!" Carrie screamed.
She rushed forward and forced a pair of balled up socks into my mouth. I couldn't talk anymore. I couldn't even breathe through my mouth. She snatched my necklace and threw it to the floor. Then she tore my shirt off. I tried to struggle but nothing worked. I saw Carrie was holding a knife. She held down my hips with one arm, while the other touch the blade of the knife to my skin. In her eyes I saw panic. I saw Carrie deep inside and scared of what she was being made to do.
It touched my stomach and cut. I gasped. As she carved something into my skin I screamed. But no sound could be heard. Carrie was muttering under her breath. I tried to move away but it was no good. The pain was searing. It was worse than it should be. I gasped and closed my eyes. Everything hurt. I couldn't think.
I heard running and managed to open my eyes. My back arched but I saw the door open. I made out Vic and smiled. But it went off of my face when the knife dug deeper. Vic ran over to me and pushed Carrie away. I saw Tony, Jaime and Jess behind him. Tony grabbed Carrie and held her arms behind her back.
Vic kissed my head and used the knife to cut the belts. Then he took the socks from my mouth. I gasped for air and Vic wrapped his arms around me. I clung to him desperately. I was crying into his chest. Vic held me close and pressed kisses against my hair.
"I'm here. I'm never leaving you again, Han. I swear. I'll never go." he whispered into my ear.
"I'll always love you, Vic. I'll never stop loving you. Tear my heart out and hide it, it'll still be yours." I sobbed.
"Shhh..." he soothed. "Let's get the hell out of here." Vic said. He helped me up and I shuffled through the room.
But I heard Tony yell. Carrie had pushed him back. She ran to me and kicked Vic. Before anyone could stop her she had grabbed me and pushed me against the wall. Then I saw the open window behind me. Carrie held me close to her before she jumped out, pulling me with her. I screamed and looked above me. I could see Vic looking down with panic in his eyes.
Carrie landed first, me landing on top of her. I rolled off of her on the grass. I blinked and saw people rushing out of the house. I saw Carrie barely conscious. Vic was hovering over me and Jaime was by my feet.
"Stay with her." I told Tony. He nodded and went to Carrie.
I felt myself becoming weaker and weaker. I was close to blacking out. I could feel it.
"Stay with me." Vic rushed.
"I can't... I need sleep." I whispered.
"Don't you dare!" he yelled urgently. But I couldn't fight it anymore. My eyes closed. Then through The crack in my vision I could see a large black orb around my body. Everyone had backed away. The orb surrounded me before it finally popped and disappeared. My mouth opened slightly and black smoke left me.
My eyes finally opened and they widened with shock. I got up onto my elbows and looked around me. No of it made any sense. No free space. Just blocks of hideous bricks. And the things outside, big metal squares with wheels.
I saw people standing over me and backed away. The man closest to me had confusion of his face. He was brushing away his unruly dark hair. They all looked the same. Even the man with blonde in his hair. How did it get there?
"Where am I?" I asked urgently.
"Newman Street." one of the men said.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Han," the man with the long hair hair. "It's us. It's me." he laughed.
"I am sorry." I muttered weakly.
"It's Vic. We were just talking," he said desperately. "I never left, babe." What does he mean?
"Oh no." a woman with red hair gasped. She got on her hands and knees and grabbed me. I gasped but she looked at my stomach. I was wearing such revealing clothes. Surely these things aren't even appropriate for bed time. I tried to cover myself. "The little fighter. Oh she's strong!" the woman exclaimed.
"What?" one of the men asked.
"I'm guessing the symbol was supposed to stop Hannah from coming back once she was killed. But Carrie was fighting against it. She carved in another symbol."
"What symbol?" a woman with dark hair asked.
"This one would make her forget everything. Or not forget but push back Hannah Preciado. There are two people inside her. Hannah Charlotte is deeper and hidden underneath Hannah in this life. But that would make her shift. Hannah Preciado is too far back." What on earth is she talking about?
"So we have Hannah Charlotte?" the man with the long hair asked.
"Right." the red haired woman said.
"This is not proper." I said. The long haired man took off his shirt. He came towards me but I backed away. The dark haired woman took it and slowly came over to me.
"Let me put this on you and we can get your stomach dressed." she said kindly.
"Yes." I nodded. I helped her put the shirt on me but I still felt naked. I looked at her desperately and she tucked some hair behind my ear. "Miss, can you help me?" I asked. "I am feeling ever so faint." I gasped. But I fell back and my eyes closed.

Notes

Hey! So last chapter! What did you think? Major twist! Hannah can't remember anything from this life. She doesn't know who Vic is! Will she remember? What will they do? Can Hannah cope? I have such great ideas for this story.
Now will I be doing a sequel I hear you ask. Yes! Of course I will. But I have promised so many sequels and have so many stories that I'm still working on. I will do a sequel, it might not be for a few months though. Can you wait that long? Don't give up on me!
But I need to say thank you to everyone who has supported me. You all mean so much to me and the response I've gotten from this has been amazing. No supernatural story on any of the sites has ever gotten this far or done this well. So really thank you!
If you ever need anyone to talk to please message me! I'm not as scary as I seem! If here to help, chat and I'm always down for collabs! I care about you all!
I love you all and thank you again! :)
