Without You There Is No Me

Vic's P.O.V.

I threw myself down into the chair. I put my head in my hands and pulled roughly at my hair. I kept gripping it, hoping that maybe it would pull some of thoughts out of my head. I felt someone's hand on my back and shrugged them off.
"Vic," Mike muttered in my ear. "Come on."
"Don't touch me." I said through gritted teeth.
It's happened again. I've lost her. I should have known after last time, don't let her out of my sight. Not when I know they're trying to get to her. But I let her go. Maybe I didn't know she was planning on going out. But I should have. I should have been with her.
"You don't know what could have happened." Mike said gently.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I snapped.
"He just means that it was early morning. She went out at five thirty in the morning alone to a park." Jess said.
"So she might have been raped or killed instead of possessed. That makes me feel a lot better." I spat.
"Don't take this out on her!" Jaime snapped at me. "You think she isn't worried? Han is her best friend. It's not all about you!" he growled and stood up.
"Where are you going?" Jess asked softly.
"To find her. My sister might be lying in a ditch somewhere. She could have black smoke coming out of her ears. You all might be happy to sit here and mope and whine about how much you love her and how distraught you'll be at her funeral. But I'm not. I'm going to do something." Jaime explained. Then he headed for the stairs. Jess got up and went to follow.
"Jess," I said and she turned. "I'm sorry." I told her.
"It's okay, Vic." she shrugged and ran after Jaime.
"Are you sure we checked everywhere?" Tony asked.
"Yeah." I nodded.
"She's probably with Carrie." Mike muttered.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Tony asked.
"That they got told not to be in the same room as Carrie alone. She was a threat to them." Mike said.
"How? She'd never hurt Hannah." Tony tried.
"She wouldn't. But the demons would. They possess her and kill Hannah. Then they kill Carrie in the process. Problem fixed." Mike explained.
"I - she wouldn't." Tony gasped.
"Will both of you grow up and open your eyes! That's the problem with you damn people. You're so blinded by your curse you can't see the obvious. It's better to think how shit your life will be without the love of your life. You're not looking at what we can do. Why do you think Jaime got pissed?" Mike yelled.
"Will you help me?" I asked seriously. "There has to be a spell you and Lily can do."
"I'll call her." he sighed. Mike took out his phone and waited. He started talking until he finally hung up. "She's making a supply stop then she'll be here." he explained.
"Thank you." I nodded.
"Just look at what you can do. Not what you've lost." he told me.
We waited for a while until the door opened. Lily hurried down and smiled to us. She laid some things out on the bed and turned to us all. "This shouldn't take long." she said.
"Thanks." I told her.
"If it helps Hannah then I'll do it," she replied. "Can you light these for me?" she asked Mike.
"Sure." he nodded.
"They need to be in a North, South, East and West position." she explained. Mike started to set out blue candles and he lit them. Then he lit up some incense. Lily sat herself down in the center of them.
"This will work?" Tony asked.
"I'm sure it will." she nodded. Then she faced towards the west candle. Then she poured water into a golden goblet. She started to add a few things and flexed her neck. Her eyes fluttered closed and she took deep breaths.
"What's happening?" I asked Mike.
"She's meditating. With some spells she has to get into this state before it'll work." he explained.
Lily brought her right hand up and started to swirl two fingers around the goblet.
"Let the water reveal to me the location of Hannah Preciado!" Lily called. "Let the water show me where she is." She arched her back and gasped. "Let the water reveal to me the location of Hannah Preciado!" Lily called again. "Let the water show me where she is. Let the water reveal to me the location of Hannah Preciado!" she called. "Let the water show me where she is." Lily moaned and out of the corner of my eye I saw Mike flush. "Let the water reveal to me the location of Hannah Preciado!" she said one more time. "Let the water show me where she is."
Then her eyes opened and she stared deep into the goblet. "Fuck." she muttered.
"What?" I asked urgently.
"The way the spell works is I can see in the goblet what Hannah is seeing through her eyes. But there's just black." she explained.
"What does that mean?" Tony asked.
"That she's isn't awake. I see glimpses but then it goes black."
"So she's coming in and out of consciousness." Mike said and Lily nodded.
"If I can just focus and still the image." she sighed. She waved her hand over the goblet and made a fist. "Got you." she grinned.
"What do you see?" I asked.
"I can see the other girl. The one that looks like her."
"Carrie!" Tony exclaimed.
"Yeah, and I can see she's in a room. Through the window I can see the park. Children are running through there."
"The house on the corner of Newman Street." I said.
"It's gone." Lily said guiltily.
"That's all we need, let's go." I urged. I stood up with the others. Lily gathered her things up and put them away.
"Come with us?" Mike asked Lily.
"Okay." she agreed.
"Phone Jaime." I told Tony.
We hurried up the stairs. I passed Jess's mom and she gave me a meaningful look. I stopped and she grasped my shoulder lightly. "I- Find her." she told me.
"I will." I nodded. I turned and we went outside. We went to my car and got inside. I started driving and my hands tightened around the steering wheel. I knew I was going too fast but I didn't care. I had to get there.
"I'm sure she's fine." Tony suddenly said.
"She's with Carrie." Mike snapped.
"Yeah, but Carrie wouldn't hurt her." he tried.
"You didn't see what I did." Lily mumbled.
"Do you care about Hannah?" I asked.
"Of course I do." Tony replied.
"Then realise that she's probably not herself and she's dangerous." I said.
I pulled up on the side of the road and got out. The others followed me and I ran to the door. It was locked so I tuned to Mike. "Come on." I urged, He nodded and stood by me. We waited a moment before me both kicked at the door. We did it a few times until it busted open.
I ran inside and looked behind me. The others were following me. The door to the sitting room was open and I saw it was ablaze. Fire was licking the curtains and carpet. It was getting bigger and harder to see. I checked it for Hannah but found nothing.
We ran up through the house. But I heard someone drop. I turned and saw Lily lying on the floor. Mike was trying to help her.
"Come on." he urged.
"I can't." she breathed.
"Why?" he asked her softly.
"Something's draining me. It knows I'm here. It won't let me." she gasped. I looked from Lily to the next floor.
"Go, I'll stay with her." Mike urged. I nodded and started climbing the stairs again with Tony. I would find her.
