Runaway

Kiss Me Goodnight

Rachel shifted in Rissa’s car and turned to look out of the window. She fiddled with the hem on her dress and heard Rissa laugh. Rachel turned to look at her and raised her eyebrows questioningly. “What?” Rachel asked.
“You’re so nervous, it’s cute,”
“I’m not nervous,”
“You so are,” Rissa grinned. “Which I don’t get because from what you told me you made out in his house,”
“We didn’t. We just kissed. Twice,” she reminded her.
“First step. You’ll be in his bed by the end of the month!”
“Rissa!” Rachel gasped.
“Hey, does Mike hook up?” she suddenly asked.
“How should I know?”
“You’re his friend,” she shrugged.
“We don’t talk about that sort of stuff. We talk about Tony and music and how bad smoking weed is for your body. Oh and drumsticks,”
“Is that an innuendo?” she teased.
“Rissa, you are obsessed,”
“Come on, Rach. It’s how I get over things,”
“What do you mean? You have a boyfriend,”
“Actually . . . I um don’t,”
“What?” Rachel gasped.
“We broke up last week, Rach,”
“But why?” she frowned.
“He hit me,” Rissa finally said and sat back in her seat. “The bastard,” she muttered.
“I’m so sorry! Why didn’t you tell me?”
“You have your shit, I have mine. I didn’t want you to feel like you had to open up to me just because my ex is an ass,”
“I’m sorry,” she told her slowly. “And thanks, I will tell you, but I just can’t yet,”
“I get it,” Rissa nodded.
She parked up outside Jaime’s house and they got out of the car. They walked through parked cars to the front door. Rachel knocked it and they waited a few minutes. Tony opened it and grinned when he saw her. Rachel went forward and hugged him quickly. She looked at Rissa who widened her eyes at Rachel.
“This is Rissa, the girl I work with,” Rachel explained.
“Hey, Mike and I were just wondering when you’d show,” Tony said.
“Cool,” Rissa nodded. They walked inside and Rachel took Tony’s hand. He led them to the corner of Jaime’s sitting room where Mike was talking to Casey. They stopped in front of them and Mike looked down at their entwined hands and smiled.
“Hey Rachel,” Mike nodded. “You remember Casey, my drum tech,”
“Yeah, hi,”
“I’m Rissa,” Rissa said as she stepped out from behind Tony.
“Hello,” Mike smiled lightly.
“Don’t I get a drink?” Rissa smirked.
“Sure, why don’t we go find you one,” Mike said and Rissa walked close to him. He bit his lip when he looked at Tony then grinned. They walked away and Casey looked at Rachel.
“She’s your friend?” Casey asked.
“My best friend in San Diego,” Rachel confirmed.
“What about me?” Tony teased.
“After Tony,” Rachel rolled her eyes.
“Is she okay?” Casey asked seriously.
“Yeah, she wants to take a liking to Mike,”
“Oh dear,” Tony muttered.
“I won’t say what she said she wanted,” Rachel blushed.
“What?” Tony urged.
“She finds Mike hot. Lets just leave it there,”
“I hope she isn’t expecting much. Mike hasn’t been in relationship mind for over a year,” Casey said.
“She knows that,”
“And she doesn’t care he’d just want to hook up with her?” Tony asked carefully.
“No. That’s all she wants,” Rachel explained.
“Weird for a chick,” Casey thought. “I need a drink,” he added and walked away.
“I need to ask you something,” Rachel told Tony.
“Like what?”
“Well, remember when you passed out?”
“Yeah,” he nodded.
“When you woke up . . . we haven’t spoken about anything, despite the fact we’ve seen each other since then,”
“Sorry, I didn’t think you wanted it brought up,” he explained.
“We kissed, Tony. How can it not be brought up?” Rachel sighed.
“I thought you thought you may have made a mistake,” he shrugged.
“How could you think that?” she gasped. “I’m sorry, it’s just hard for me,”
“What do you mean?” he asked softly.
“Can we go somewhere?” Rachel asked and Tony nodded. They walked up a flight of stairs and Tony led her past the guest room. The door was slightly ajar and they could see two bodies wrapped around one another, covered in sheets. Rachel and Tony exchanged a look and started to laugh.
“In here,” Tony said and they went into Jaime’s bedroom. “What did you want to tell me?”
“Back in LA stuff happened. It was part of the reason why I left,”
“What stuff?” he asked gently and took her hand.
“It wasn’t my brother’s fault. He just got the wrong friends and didn’t want to tell them no. They looked up to him. He couldn't let my dad down,”
“Please tell me, Rach,” Tony tried.
“One night they came back to our place. They met me for the first time and his friend liked me. I guess he wasn’t used to getting rejected. So he started to follow me. Got asked back to mine by my brother where he kissed me,” Rachel explained slowly, not meeting Tony’s eye. “Before you that was my last kiss, so I don’t know what I’m supposed to say,”
“I’m so sorry, Rach,” Tony whispered and took her face in his hands gently. "Didn't you tell anyone? Your dad?"
"No," she sighed. "You know my mom is in England?"
"Yeah," he nodded.
"My dad was sent to prison three years ago. For a few different things. My dad and my brother aren't very nice people," Rachel explained.
"I'm sorry. I wish I could just take it away for you,"
“Tony?” she asked gently.
“Yeah?”
“Can you kiss me, please?”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes,” Rachel nodded. Tony smiled and leant in. Their lips touched and Rachel wrapped her arms around his neck. His finger ran up and down her spine and she smiled.
“Thank you,” she said once they had broke away. Their foreheads rested against one another.
“You’re welcome,”
“Do you want to go back to everyone?” she asked.
“Sure,” he nodded. They got up and she took his hand. Tony smiled and they walked down the stairs and to everyone. He went to get her a drink and she took it from him gratefully. She smiled in thanks and took a sip.
“Um . . . what did that mean?” Tony asked.
“I don’t know,” she said honestly.
“Do you want to. . .?”
“No, sorry,”
“Oh. . .”
“I’m not like Rissa. I can’t do that yet,”
“Rach,” he muttered and started to laugh.
“Sorry,” she tried.
“No, you . . . Um . . . thought I wanted to hook up?” Tony chuckled.
“Yes?”
“I want you to be my girlfriend. Is that okay?”
“That I can do,” she nodded and started to blush. “Oh God, I’m sorry,” she looked away.
“You’re sweet and kind of classy,” he told her.
“Thank you,” she muttered and squeezed his hand.

@Layla
Yay! No more Megan! Things will be . . . different now. Tony and Rachel still have things they need to face. Next time it just won't be in the form of a crazy, psychopathic ex hook up buddy! :)

@Gabriela_perry
I am doing a sequel! It should be up within a week or two. I'll be any updates and links about the sequel on this story so don't unsubscribe! :)
