Believe You Me

July 28th

Julie got released five days later and Casey took her to his house, keeping her bedridden. I would stop by everyday to make sure that she was fine. The doctors had told us that she was at a very high risk with the cancer and the flu that she literally could’ve died if the ambulance didn’t get there in time. I laid next to her, holding her in my arms and sighing heavily.

“Mike?” She whispered. I turned to look at her and she was looking at the ceiling. “Thank you for staying by my side.” She whispered again and I kissed her head softly.

“I’ll always stay by your side.” She moved in my arms, sitting up and I propped up on my elbow, facing her.

“I hope you know I fell in love with you the first time I saw you.” She smiled. I grinned and held her hand in mine. “I just didn’t want to because I wanted to spend my time alone. I don’t want to leave one day and hurt you.” She looked down and her eyes began to water. I pulled her to me and stroked her hair.

“You never will. Even though one day you might leave me, I know you’ll watch over me.” Julie cried a bit and she tried to relax. I held on to her tightly. Julie was done. The doctor said that at any given moment, her heart would just fail and she would die. I held her tightly, wanting to keep her with me forever. A knock was heard on the door and I turned my head, seeing Casey poke his head in.

“The guys are staying over, you can too.”

I thanked him, hearing Jaime yell, “Don’t be too loud!” behind Casey who rolled his eyes. I laughed, pulling the blankets back and tucking Julie in. I got in as well and she curled up in my side, falling asleep with her head on my chest. I looked up at the ceiling and decided on something.

I was going to stay with Julie no matter what. I would always be with her, and support her. I know I could do it. But the thing I didn’t realize was that I needed the support too.

July 29th

I walked over to Casey when Tony, Jaime, Vic and Julie went to get food and sat on the other couch. “Casey, can I ask you something?” I asked, having him pause the movie and give me his full attention.

“Yeah sure, what’s up?” I took a deep breath and began talking.

“I don’t want to be without Julie. I know we live in different homes and we just met two months ago, but I swear to God I’m telling the truth when I say that I’m in love with her.” Casey stared at me, waiting for me to continue. “Casey, I want to ask Julie to marry me.” Casey wouldn’t stop staring at me. I remember the feeling worried, scared, and nervous all at the same time and I finally groaned. “For the love of God, say something!”

“Is this what you want?” Casey spoke, looking at the remote.

“More than anything.” He stayed quiet again until finally sighing.

“Alright, go right ahead.” I grinned and stood up, pulling him to me and hugging him tightly.

“Thank you so much!” Casey chuckled and I pulled away.

“Let’s go shopping!” I grinned. Casey laughed and followed me out the door.

“You sounded so gay back there.” I laughed along and we climbed into his car, driving to the mall. We walked around to every jewelry store and I couldn’t decide on which ring was good. They were all pretty but none of them were perfect. I sighed heavily, going into some small jewelry place and looking through the rings. Casey called me over to another section and pointed to a few. I shrugged at them and turned to another case.

My eyes widened at the ring in the corner; a thin, silver band, with two small diamonds flanking a bigger diamond that rested in the middle. I walked over to it and called over the elderly man that worked there.

“How much for this one?” I asked him. He took the ring out and showed it to me.

“10 grand.” He spoke I nodded and slipped it on my pinky finger. Casey walked over and smiled at it.

“Nice choice, man.” I nodded, taking out my credit card and giving it to the man.

“I’ll take it.” The man smiled, leading us to the register and charging it. I took off the ring, handing it to him and he put it into a very bright blue velvet box and handed it to me. I pocketed it and took my card back, thanking the man and walking out with Casey.

“Do think she’ll want to get married?” I asked Casey, walking out of the mall and into his car.

“Julie loves you. She wants to spend every waking moment with you, Mike. Of course she’ll want to marry you.” He began driving home and I saw Tony’s car in the drive way, knowing they were home. We got out, walking in and seeing them eating Chinese food in the living room.

“We got food! We literally just got home like five minutes.” Jaime grinned, mouth full of rice. I sat next to Julie and picked up chopsticks and picked the white box of orange chicken. I ate some, feeding Julie some and eventually Jaime too. We finished eating and I felt my stomach fill with butterflies when Julie laid her head on my shoulder. I looked down and her and she looked up at me.

“What is it?” She asked, worry in her voice.

“You love me right?” I asked. She nodded and I intertwined my hand with hers. “A lot?” I asked again. She nodded and giggled.

“Why the sudden questions?” She asked with a smile on her lips. I leaned down and kissed her sighing happily.

“I just want to reassure myself.” She kissed me again and rested her forehead on mine.

“Mike, I would do anything for you.” I opened my mouth, the words leaving it and I pulled back, looking at her face.

“Will you marry me?” Julie stared at me shocked before I took out the blue velvet box and opened it. Julie gasped, staring at the ring. Jaime turned to us and let out a small scream before repeatedly slapping Tony to look at us. He grinned causing Vic to look at us when Julie nodded and I grinned, taking the ring out and putting it on her finger.

“I love you.” She whispered hugging me tightly and I did the same, kissing her cheek before I pulled back and kissed her properly. The guys clapped and I grinned, watching as Julie sat between Casey and Vic, showing them her ring and happily grinning.

Now to make it to the wedding.

Notes

So I'm trying to space out the dates more, but that won't happen until after the wedding, seeing as another tour happen and Julie won't be going to that one. But I promise it'll slow down, I swear! I'm really sorry. :)
