Believe You Me

August 8th

Julie and I decided to get married soon and since we both love the month of October, we were going to get married on October 21st. Days passed by in a blur, picking out the perfect cake, deciding on the colors, the church and banquet hall. The both of us were sitting in a small wedding shop, talking with our wedding planner about certain things, Julie sitting on my lap.

“Now, did you pick out the banquet hall and church?” The tall, thin woman asked us. Julie smiled, nodding her head.

“The church and hall addresses are on the paper.” The lady examined it and nodded, slipping the paper into our folder.

“Perfect, now, for the dress. Did you pick one out?” She asked.

“No, I haven’t gone shopping. I’m going this weekend with my brother and the best men.”

“I’ll go tuxedo shopping the following weekend with them.” I spoke, writing it down on my phone.

“Alright, the cake is done and all that is left are the invitations. Did you prepare the list of how many people you’re inviting?” Julie looked at me and I shrugged.

“The only family I have is my mom, dad, and grandparents.”

“I have my whole family of course, plus Jaime’s and Tony’s family since we’re good friends with them.” I spoke.

“Get the list ready and we can start on the invitations.” She gave us a notepad, a pen and walked out of the office, letting us be.

“So, that’s three invitations?” I spoke to Julie. “One for Casey, your parents, and grandparents?” Julie nodded and I wrote the number three.

“Now, we have the guys and their families, so that’s six invitations. My family, right there is three.” Julie watched as I wrote the numbers and I leaned back, thinking of the rest of the family.

“Alright, one invitation per couple?” She asked, looking at me. I nodded my head and we included two passes for the couples and extra passes for the kids. Our wedding was strictly invitation only, since many fans were going to try and get in. Once we announced it, many people began asking where the wedding was going to be and I didn’t dare say where.

By the end, we had come up with a little over 30 invitations and extra guest tickets. The woman came back, nodding her head at the list and began showing us different invitation ideas and fonts. I got a call and Julie got off me, allowing me to answer.

“Hello?” I answered, going to the other side of the office.

‘I know you’re busy, but All Time Low need another band to go on tour with them in a few weeks and they called wondering if the group could fill in. The guys are all up for it, but it’s up to you.’
I heard Casey speak and I sighed.

“Hold on.” I turned my attention to Julie and she looked at me. “Babe, All Time Low asked us to go on tour with them in September, is it fine if we take it?” Julie smiled, nodding her head and a thanked her. “Alright, let’s get this going!” I grinned.

August 13th

I laid in my bed, yawning and turned around, stretching my arms in front of me and getting comfortable again. I heard no noise from outside so I figured the guys were still sleeping. I heard pattering on my window and I looked over, seeing the window wet and dark clouds in the sky. I saw lightening and began counting until thunder was heard. I continued doing it, knowing the storm was getting closer and I closed my eyes, hearing the rain and thunder. I was about to fall asleep again when my phone rang and I groaned, looking at my phone on the bedside table. I reached over, answering the call and pressing it to my ear.

“Hello?”

‘Mike, can you come here?’
I recognized Vic’s voice and I yawned.

“Be right there.” I hung up, getting rid of the blanket and grabbing my pillow. Vic hasn’t been afraid of a thunderstorm since he got locked out of the house after 8th grade, so I began wondering what happened. I walked out of my room, passing the game room and seeing the storm from the huge windows. I continued, passing a few rooms until I reached Vic’s room and opened the door. I was laying on his bed, looking out the window and his eyes went over to meet mine. He scooted over, having me close the door behind me and walk over. I placed my pillow on the empty side of the bed and got under the warm blanket.

“You okay?” I asked him. Vic nodded and continued to look out the window.

“My little brother is just getting married and I realized that I’m losing you man.” Vic whispered. I turned to face him and he looked at me.

“Vic, you’ve always been there for me. I can’t thank you enough, but I think it’s time for me to take care of myself. I know you’ll still take care of me and I’m always going to be grateful.” Vic smiled, hugged me from under the blanket.

“Thank you.” He whispered. I hugged him back until he let go. I pulled the blanket higher, closing my eyes and falling asleep to the sound of rain and thunder.
