Believe You Me
January 20th
I walked off stage, sweat beading down my forehead. I walked with the band backstage and we took showers in the separate bathrooms. I got out, changing into clothes and waiting for the guys. "Great show, man." Oliver sat next to me.
"Thanks, we've been really trying these past few days. The crowds get bigger and bigger and we're pretty stoked about it." Oliver smiled and was soon called by his manager.
"Gotta go, see you later yeah? For that party since it's our day off tomorrow?" He asked.
"Yeah, bye." I took out my phone, walking out of the venue and dialed Julie. Her phone rang before it went straight to voicemail. I furrowed my eyebrows. I called again and still no answer. I called one more time before she answered.
"Baby?" I asked.
‘Mr. Fuentes?’ I recognized the voice and I began to worry.
"Doctor Evans, why are you here?" I asked.
‘The hospital called saying Julie had strong pains. I rushed over and checked on her.’ I began to sweat again and I held on to the wall.
"Is she okay?" I asked.
‘Julie's fine, nothing to worry about. Minor contractions because of the babies. Don't worry, Mike. We're taking care of her.’ I felt the breath I was holding leave me and I smiled.
"Thank your doctor Evans, where's Julie?" I asked.
‘They transferred her to another room for some tests on her blood. Once she's back, I'll have her call you.’ I thanked him, walking back in the venue to see the rest of the BMTH show.
The show was over and we walked back to the buses, our plans going into action as we walked in and began drinking. Vic was pretty drunk by two in the morning, he was slurring non-sense with Nicholas about forklifts. Tony and I began our usual game of beer pong versus Oliver and Jordan. Who knew where the rest were, all we knew was that we were having a good time.
I heard a familiar ring and looked around, finally hearing it stop. I shrugged, going back to the game when it began again. I turned to my pocket and took out my phone. I saw Julie's name on it and I immediately sobered up.
"Julie, how do you feel?" I answered, getting off the bus. I heard her giggle and I smiled.
‘Just perfect baby. The babies are good too. We miss you. I've been playing your music when I'm in the room and I think they like it.’ I grinned, thinking about tomorrow and I smiled at the little surprise I had.
"That's great, darling. Listen, I'm glad you're doing good, and I would love to talk more, but I'm beat." I spoke.
‘Yeah, I'm sorry for calling late, I just wanted to hear your voice.’ I heard her softly say.
"No, don't worry about it baby, I loved hearing your voice again. I love you." I smiled. We said our goodbyes, as I headed inside. I played around a bit with the group before calling it a night.
