I'll Fight For You
Thirteen
Things have changed. My priorities have all changed. I don't see school as important anymore, not in the grand scheme of things. I'm going to die. Soon the bad people will try to kill me, school doesn't seem very important. Neither does Thanksgiving next week. What do I have to be thankful for? My impending doom.
My room has changed too. Around my desk there are notes and pages torn from books and photos. I've been studying The Haunted and how they died. It's all I can do to try and survive. Vic is studying too. He's hardly ever home. He sleeps at his own house, other than that he's with me. When he isn't I think we feel a painful separation. We're both made to be with one another.
I was in my room again trying to research. My door opened and I turned around. Mom walked inside and smiled at me. She came over to my desk and rested a hand on my shoulder. "We're ready to go." she told me. She and Jaime's dad were going on a short vacation.
"Okay." I smiled.
"We'll be back the day before Thanksgiving." she promised.
"Okay." I nodded again.
"You sure you'll be okay?"
"I promise," I smiled. "Anyway, Jaime will be here."
"Hmm . . ." she muttered. "If Vic comes make sure you're . . . careful."
"What do you mean?"
"You're seventeen, Hannah. At that age boys can get a little forceful."
"Vic would never force me to do anything."
"If you're sure," she patted my shoulder. Then she started to look around my room. "Hannah, what's all this?" she asked, gesturing around.
"Oh, nothing." I said quickly. She frowned at the notes and pictures and things. I knew what was at my wall. The supernatural, ghosts, deaths, history, how to summon. Everything you wouldn't want your parents to find.
"This is stupid!" Mom suddenly exclaimed. "Is it like before?"
"No. I'm not sick." I rushed.
"Take this all down," she sighed. I nodded silently and glared into my desk. "I'm only worried," she said and kissed my cheek. "I'll see you soon, Hannah." she finally said.
"Bye, Mom." I muttered.
I heard her leave and turned around. My door was still open. I stood up and rushed over. I slammed my door and growled. I went back to my desk and snatched the photo of my past self from the wall. I held it tight between my fingers and sobbed. I wasn't crying, I just started sobbing dryly.
I stayed there for a while. I just want to know who she was. Not what happened but who she actually was. Did we like the same things? I want to know what Robin was like. Was he another Vic? I don't think so. Vic would never leave me.
"Hannah?" someone asked. I turned and saw Mike standing in my doorway. He walked in and stopped in front of me. "You okay? I heard you talking to yourself."
"Yeah," I nodded. I stood up and put the photo on my desk. "When did you get here? Is Vic here?"
"You two are obsessed with one another," he laughed. "We just got here. Vic is parking the car."
"Oh, I just miss him." I explained.
"You have him so whipped," Mike told me. "What's all this?" he asked, looking around my wall.
"A hobby." I shrugged.
"Looks like you and my brother have the same hobby." he raised his eyebrows.
"Han'!" Vic called. I turned and saw him make his way into my room.
"Hey." I smiled.
"I found something!" Vic exclaimed.
"About her?"
"Yeah." Vic nodded enthusiastically.
"Normal couples make out. I'm just going to leave that out there." Mike joked before he backed out of my room.
"What did you find?" I asked.
"Where she lived. Or where you lived." he reasoned.
"How did you find that out?" I asked.
"I have family in England. My cousin checked the deaths. I know she lived in a little town outside of London. He's emailing me the rest."
"This is great." I grinned.
Vic took my hand and I went to sit on my bed. I flopped down and lay down. Vic sat next to me and brushed some hair out of my eyes. I smiled gently and closed my eyes.
"Did you sleep much?" he asked.
"No. Lauren keeps coming to me. I think that way the bad people don't know." I explained.
"I wish I could take the dreams away just to give you some rest," Vic told me. "Even if it was just for an hour or two."
"I know you would. But you help." I said.
"I'm glad." Vic poked me in the side. I shrunk away from him and laughed.
"Leave me alone," I giggled as he tickled my side. Vic leant down and started kissing me through my clothes. He kissed my neck and face again and again. "Stop!" I laughed and kissed him back. I kissed his cheeks and arms. Vic smiled against my stomach and I ran my fingers through his hair. Vic rested his forehead against my hip bone and just rested.
"I love you, Hannah." he told me.
"I love you too." I said easily.
"I don't know how to show you that I do."
"You're showing me now." I told him.
I sat up and stood. I walked over to my desk and scribbled down what Vic had told me. I pinned it to my wall and started walking back over. I stood in front of Vic and he stood up too. I wrapped my arms around his neck and Vic leaned down to kiss me. I met his lips with mine and kissed him urgently. Vic was kissing back and his arms were snaking around my waist, my hips and my bum. My lips moved to his neck and Vic moaned quietly. I pulled him closer and my hand accidentally brushed his groin. I gasped in embarrassment and pulled away a little.
"It's okay." Vic mumbled.
"I'm sorry." I told him.
"You have enough to worry about. Don't worry about this."
"I'm not worried, just embarrassed." I admitted.
"Don't be," he told me. "You're beautiful."
"So are you." I replied gently. Vic sighed and met my lips again.
"If you're not comfortable with this you can stop me." he said. I nodded and swallowed nervously.
Vic got down onto his knees and started to kiss my legs. He kissed up and down my thighs. As he started to kiss the inside of my thighs he pulled my skirt up a little. My fingers were holding Vic's hair gently. Vic's fingers tickled the inside of my thighs and I bit down onto my lip. I've never had this happen to me. But I didn't want it to end.
Vic stood up and I pulled him in for a kiss. One of Vic's hands held my face softly, while the other creeped down and under my skirt. He pushed aside my underwear and I felt his fingers brush me. I buried my face into Vic's shoulder. He ran his fingers up and down until they finally went inside me. I gasped and gripped Vic tighter. His fingers started moving and I felt myself feeling better and better. A feeling was spreading all around my body. I was tensing and clenching around him. I was becoming more and more distant. This must be what everyone talks about.
"Vic, I-" I tried but had to stop. My head flopped back and my eyes went dark. "I'm scared." I heard myself say. But I didn't think the words. I had no control over anything.
"That's okay, I won't hurt you." Vic promised.
"Tell my chest to stop bleeding." I said and laughed manically.
"What?" Vic frowned. His fingers left me and he let me go. I looked at him once to see his shocked face before I fell. I fell down onto the floor and my eyes shut. "Shit! Guys!" Vic yelled. I could hear scrambling around me. Someone picked up my head and placed it in their lap. "Come on, babe." Vic muttered and stroked my hair gently.
"What's happened?" I heard Jaime ask urgently.
"She just passed out. I don't know." Vic rushed.
"Fuck. We should call someone." Mike said.
"Is she breathing?" Tony asked.
"What happened before she passed out? Did she do anything to make herself vulnerable?" Jaime asked.
"We were kissing." Vic said.
"Let me have her." he said. I felt my head being moved and placed back down again. My eyes snapped open, they were coal black now.
"Fucking hell!" Mike exclaimed.
"Hello." I mumbled.
"I'm here." Vic rushed.
"Is it you?" I asked clearly.
"She sounds different." Tony frowned. My voice has changed. It sounded more proper.
"I hope you're ready." I said.
"She's talking with a British accent." Vic said.
"It's happening again. She's gone so long." Jaime sighed tiredly.
"What is she going on about?" Mike sighed. Jaime grabbed each of my hands and squeezed.
"My head hurts ever so much." I breathed.
"You need to close it, Han'." Jaime soothed.
"Is that my boy?"
"No, it's Hannah's brother, Jaime."
"Daddy, it's so dark outside," I said clearly. "Can you see the ambulance? The sirens are singing and the lights are so so bright."
"What does that mean?" Tony asked.
"It means nothing. This is what happens." Jaime said.
"She never told me this had happened before." Vic said.
"The bad men are here," I gasped. "Come to tear my heart out and feed it to me vein by vein."
"I want Hannah back." Jaime said firmly.
"I'm here. Stop ruining the game."
"I'm spoiling your game. Now bring her back and go away." he spat. I blinked and my eyes went back to cool blue. I looked at everyone and sighed. I could move again. I could speak.
"Was it bad?" I asked anxiously.
"No, she just made you lie down still. You were talking rubbish." Jaime told me.
"Sorry." I muttered and sat up, holding my head. I saw Vic and threw my arms around him.
"Why didn't you tell me about this?" he rushed.
"Was it us? What we did?" I whispered.
"I think so." Vic nodded against me.
"Guys," Mike said. We pulled away and Vic took my hand. "What the fuck just happened?" Mike demanded.
"Han', Vic. I think you should tell them." Jaime sighed heavily.
Notes
Hey! What did you think? This chapter had a smidge of smut. But do you think what they did caused it? Does that mean they can't do anything like that again? What about what happened? What does it mean? What will they tell Mike and Tony? What about Hannah's mom? As always tell me your ghost stories! :)
