The Taste Of Blood Remains.
"Myaaa!" I heard a voice sing. I sighed, closing my laptop and making my way downstairs.
"Yes?"
"Pizza's here." Mike said, handing me a plate with a piece, it shining with nothing but grease. It looked disgustingly delicious, to be quite honest. No, Mya. Control, control, control.
"No thanks. I'm not hungry." Mike shrugged, placing it back on the counter before joining Tony on the couch.
"Oh Mya!" Jaime screamed, running out of the kitchen, practically crashing into me.
"Shit, sorry." He mumbled. I laughed and shrugged.
"S'all good. What do ya need?"
"To talk." He said. I swallowed hard as I felt my heart rate escalate. Words can not explain how much that sentence scares me. "We'll be right back." He told everyone before grabbing my hand and leading me into my room. I hesitantly walked in, plopping on my bed as he sat next to me, the plate of pizza in his lap.
"So..?"
"Mya, something's wrong. I-I'm not exactly sure what, and I'm not going to force or anything, but I just want you to know that you can trust the guys and I. Whatever is going on in that pretty little head of yours, don't be scared to tell me. None of us are going anywhere."
"N-Nothing's wrong." I whispered.
"You have dozens of bracelets on, you don't eat, and you're shaking like a leaf and on the verge of tears. Don't lie to me, beautiful." I put my head in my hands at a desperate attempt to halt the tears before they came, but the sob that had escaped my esophagus didn't seem to allow any such thing. He wrapped his arms around me and I leaned into him as I broke down.
JAIME
I set my plate down, pulling her into my embrace as she sobbed into my chest. The guys all came in, furrowing their eyebrows and pointing to her.
"I'll explain later." I mouthed. They nodded, walking over to her.
"Mya?" Vic said cautiously.
"I'm fine." She choked out, pulling away from me and wiping her tears.
"No you're not." I whispered, pulling her back into me.
Seeing my little sister like this; so broken, it brought me to tears as well. I could've been there for her, I could've saved her from the pain she's had to endure throughout her life.
What kind of brother am I if I can't even protect her?
"I'm so sorry." I told her and kissed her forehead.
"None of this was you. It's all me. My mistakes, and I'll pay for it soon..er or later." What does that even mean?
Before I had the chance to speak, Vic sat on the bed and rubbed her back.
"Okay, I'm not even sure what's going on, but seeing you two cry doesn't sit well with me."
"Yeah, you're too pretty to cry. Especially you, Jaime." Mike said with a smirk. Mya and I both laughed and I chucked a pillow at him.
"Fuck you, Mike."
"Hey, whatever works. You still laughed." He said, sticking his tongue out at me. I rolled my eyes.
"I say, movie night." Tony told us.
"Star Wars?" Mya asked, resulting in Turtle's face lighting up.
"You don't... like Star Wars, do you?!" She shrugged moving around her bracelets to show that she had about 3 Star Wars bracelets within the mix of about the 25 she wore. I know now, what hid underneath that jewelry; the scars that she had bared. Her breakdown proved it, but I couldn't act like I knew such a thing, despite the sadness that over came me. I had to wait and respect the fact that she wasn't ready to talk about her battles. Not only did I respect it, but I understood it. I mean, we only met this morning, I wouldn't expect her to spill her guts to me, but it was something I had hoped for. I wanted to learn everything about her.
Every memory, every flaw, every dream and goal, you name it. I have to make up for time missed, and I wanted to start as soon as she would let me.
"The force is strong with this one." He mumbled with a smirk. "You have a kick ass sister, Jaime." I smiled slightly.
"I do, don't I."
"Okay, Star Wars it is." Vic sighed, his tone emotionless from the fact that the DVD was way over watched in this house. I didn't mind though. I'd do anything to see a smile on Mya's face again. She deserved nothing but happiness.
"I love you.."
"I know.." Tony and Mya both whispered, heads snapping towards each other with a blush on their cheeks.
"Nerds." I scoffed sarcastically. Vic and Mike's eyes flickered me, giving me a quick nod.
"Hey!" Mya screamed and slapped my arm.
"I'm kidding, sheesh." She rolled her eyes before resting her head on my shoulder, looking back up at the TV.
"This is nice guys, thank you."
"I'm just glad we could cheer you up. I know we only kind of met today, but you're family now, so we're here to take care of you." Vic said with a smile. She nodded and gave him a quick hug.
He was right, she was family; and I made a promise to myself right then and there.
I will stop at nothing to attempt to fix this beautiful, broken little girl before me.

Hihihi!Sleeping with Turtles here! Sorry it's been awhile since I've written. I was packed with work that I had to finis ahead of time if I wanted to go visit my family in Maine. Y'know how high school homework is. -.- This was honestly a bit rushed, so if it's not my best piece, I sincerely apologize.But hey, at least I managed to snag a laptop and write for you guys!
