Jason's POV

"Hey there, Fionna... I wonder if you can hear me right now. And if you can, I have a couple of things to say." I started. I looked at Fionna's flawless face and smiled. "I miss you. A lot. So do the guys and holy crap, their practically going insane without you"---I laughed before continuing---"Especially Austin." My smile fell and I looked down at my shoes.

"He's been getting drunk a lot and fighting with the guys. He says that drinking is the only way he can cope with all of this but it's really not doing him any good." I grabbed her hand and held it. Her cold delicate skin nearly made me shiver.
"Darling, just please be okay... I don't know if there's some 'If I Stay' things going on but if it is... Please." I laid a gentle kiss on her hand and listened to the small beats of the heart monitor. I stood up and looked at her one last time before I left her hospital room. I made my way out of the hospital and walked home in the cold air.
I watched my breath spread into the air every time I exhaled.

She's gonna be fine. She'll make it through this...
But what if she doesn't?

I stopped in my track at the thought. Will I ever really be able to move on? After everything that we've been through, would I really just get over it?

I shook my head and kept walking. I grabbed my house keys and and unlocked the door. "Jason? Is that you?" My grandma called. "Yea, Granny Daisy. It's me."
She walked out of the kitchen and pulled me into a hug. "Oh, little Jayjay. You're so cold! Lemme make you some hot cocoa.," she smiled softly at me before she walked back and turned on the stove. "Thanks, Grandma..."

She poured a packet of cocoa into a pot and looked at me. "Jason, it's going to be okay. I'm sure that young girl will end up fine and run into your arms... Then you can jump onto a white horse and ride off to the moon, where you two can watch the stars fall." She laughed.

"Great. I'm really hoping for that to happen." I said.
She laughed again and hugged me before walking back to the stove.

Austin's POV

My mom and Fionna.
They have something in common.
They're both incredibly important to my life.

I was barley able to handle my mom's death and I don't know how I would take Fionna's. I put my beer bottle to my lips only to find that it's empty.
I growled and threw the bottle over my shoulder. I walked to the fridge and opened it before someone closed it shut.

"Time to go, Austin..." Phil said. His voice was a bit deeper than usual and he looked incredibly serious. I sighed, dragging myself to the truck and sitting in the passenger seat.

It's been over a month and Fionna still hasn't opened her eyes.
What if the hospital forces me to give up on her? There's no way I would be able to do that...
Man, I miss her voice, her smile, he laugh, and I really miss how she would bring a smile to every one's face.

My tongue twitched in my mouth. I really wanted another drink.

"Austin?"

I blinked and looked over at Alan. "We're here."
We walked into the hospital and headed to her room.

We spent nearly half an hour and I swear I was about to break.
We all said our goodbyes to Fionna and walked to the door.

"Guys?"
