The Thing I Think I Love, Will Surely Bring Me Pain.

Chapter 4.

TONY~
"STEPH!" I screamed and got up. My head whipped around towards her and I felt my anger rise. "WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM!"
"What? I thought we were here to have fun.. Not listen to some girl you barely know cry about her life."
"I can't fucking believe you. You're a real bitch, Steph." Mike spat and walked onto the bus, slamming the door behind him. She threw her hands up in the air and groaned.
"So what, now you're all pissed at me?! Why are you getting like this over a girl you don't even know!" She screamed. I bit my lip and looked down. Why WAS I? We were getting in a fight with MY girlfriend, but I can't help but stand up for Addie, and I'm not sure why.
"Because she's our fucking friend Steph, we're going to be there for her and if you're going to bash her, we're going to defend her." Vic spat.
"BUT YOU'VE KNOWN ME LONGER!"
"You're fucking kidding me. You know what?! Part of me wishes I had met Addie before you, because you're being nothing but a stuck up bitch. Get your head out of your ass and realize there's more to life than catering to your every fucking whim, princess." I spat and faked a smile, leaving a shocked Vic and Jaime, and a hurt Stephanie. I don't care how hurt she is, seeing Adeline run off crying, it just pissed me off that she's to blame for it.

I whipped out my phone and called Addie. It answered on the fourth ring and I sighed in relief.
"Hello?" She asked softly. Hearing her voice made me smile.
"Addie?"
"Can we not talk Tony? I'm sorry.." She said and sniffled.
"Adeline, please talk to me. If we leave Steph behind, can we come see you?"
"I don't want to see anybody.."
"Then just me! Come on Add, cut us some slack here. We care about you, and just because I'm dating-"
"Dating a bitch?" She asked and laughed.
"Yeah, it seems that way huh?"
"A little bit."
"So, can we just chill? We don't leave until tomorrow, so.." Please, please, please.
"Y-Yeah.. Only you though okay? If anyone else leaves, the she beast will want to come too." We both busted out laughing.
"She beast? Oh-Oh my God. That was cruel."
"Eh, I treat how I'm treated. My partner isn't here, and I need someone, so please hurry okay?"
"Of course. White bus with the red cross right?"
"That's it."
"Okay bye Addie."
"Bye Tone." She said before the line went dead. I smiled at how she called me 'Tone' and decided to walk out without telling anyone where I was going, but of course, Steph and the guys were still outside. I hopped down the steps and started to walk away until I heard Steph's voice from behind me.
"Where are you going?!" She screamed. Just hearing her voice made the anger re occur and I screamed back at her, not bothering to look back.
"IF I WANTED YOU TO KNOW I WOULD'VE TOLD YOU."
"Ouch." I heard Jaime say and both guys busted out laughing. I smirked and made my way to Addie's bus.
-------------
I walked up and saw a figure against the bus.
"Addie?" Her head whipped towards me and she smiled. She had changed, but she still looked incredibly gorgeous. I walked up to her and she took a puff of her cigarette. My jaw dropped as she exhaled the smoke and flicked the ash.
"You smoke?"
"Actually, no. Not exactly. These are Dave's, but whenever I get depressed or my thoughts get the best of me, I have a few. If it bothers you I'll-"
"It's fine." She nodded.
"So, not to be mean or anything, but why aren't you with your girlfriend? I mean, you could be with her, and you're here to try to comfort.. Well, a stranger."
"I don't want to see her right now, not after what she did. I may not know you all that well, but the guys and I, we all care about you. I just might know you better than you think.." Her head snapped up from the cigarette and she gave me an amused smile.
"Really? Well. Let's hear it." I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.

"Okay, where do I start. I think your anxiety is horrible when it comes to talking about anything other than your job and music, because you think it's the only thing your good at, and the only thing that you know what you're talking about, and that's why you shut everyone else out. You think you're going to say the wrong thing unless you're talking about something you love with a passion." She looked down and bit her lip.
"If I'm wrong, stop me, but I think there's something that's eating you up. A certain event or events that have changed your life and made you like this. insecure, shy, panicked. You think you've changed for the worse, and you're scared to let anyone in because you know that if you trust them, they'll leave, so you shy away before you give yourself the chance to get attached in any way, But that's just my opinion." She looked up at me with her jaw dropped. Her eyes started to fill, and I sighed, setting my crutches against the bus and wrapping her in my arms as her body wracked with sobs.

"Look, you don't need to tell me any details or anything. I don't expect that from you, but I know you because you remind me of myself a bit, that's why I just knew. You're gonna be okay, you're gonna get through this, and the guys and I will help you. None of us are going anywhere, I promise." I felt her nod and her tears began to slow, but none of us let go.
"You know me better than I know myself, and you barely know me.." She said shocked and sniffled.
"Well, let's just say we can both open up to each other one night, whenever you're comfortable, that way we can both understand each other." She pulled away and nodded.
"Thank you Tony, really. It means alot."
"Don't mention it." She smiled and looked back at her feet. I sighed and put my finger under her chin, lifting her gaze up.
"Stop doing that, your smile is beautiful okay? Don't hide it." I whispered. Our eyes locked and I saw her gaze flicker to my lips. I leaned down and kept her gaze up to me. My lips were within centimeters of hers when my phone rang and we jumped apart. You're fucking kidding me.
"What."
"Whoa, hey Mr. grumpy pants. Get your ass back, bus call is in 5 minutes."
"Jaime, I hate you."
"Ouch.. Your loss. Just get to the bus, and tell Addie I said hi."
"What what makes you think I'm with-"
"Bye." He said and hung up. I put my phone away and looked at Adeline. "I'm sorry, I gotta-"
"It's fine. Go, I'll see you in Montana." She said and sighed. I pulled her into another hug before grabbing my crutches and heading back, letting what just happened sink in.

I almost cheated. Shit.
