Daughter of Kellin Quinn

Darling You'll Be Ok

*Tony’s POV*

We’ve searched high and low, between the cracks and around the corners. Still, no Copeland. It was getting late and about ready to head home. But I wasn’t giving up. I would stay out all night just to find her. I need her.

She doesn’t know this, but…I’m in love with her. I’ve always loved her. But she would never feel the same way about me. How could she? I’m me. Just plain Tony Perry. I’m honestly nothing special. I think I’m boring as fuck but she always smiles when I’m around her. Her missing is killing me inside. Three days? That’s way too much! There’s one time when I haven’t seen her for four days but we texted each other in between.

I stopped near an alley way. It was almost midnight. I was ready to let it all out. Just cry. What if I never find her? What if she’s dead? Crap. Don’t think like that Tony. I don’t even want death to cross my mind. I wish I knew where she was.

I threw my back against the brick wall and crumbled to the ground. I cupped my tired eyes with my hands and broke down. And if it couldn’t get any worse, the sky crowded with clouds and it started pouring on me. My hair was drenched and in my face. My eyes were puffy and red. I was cold and tired. The only thing that kept me going was hope. Hope that she was alive. That she was breathing and safe. I had to stay strong.

I heard a strange noise down the alley to the right of me. A rat scurried its way past me, nearly giving me a heart attack. But something caught me eyes where the rat ran. From a distance in the dark, lies a body. I stood up to take a closer look as I hurried my way down the alley. It was a girl. She had long, dark hair, her hair in her face from falling over. It looked like she passed out. The side of her face that was showing was shiny from the rain. Her skin looked soft as a new born baby. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The girl wasn’t just any regular girl.

It was Copeland.

I found her. My main instinct was to dial up Kellin’s number right away. But something was holding me back. I wouldn’t want him knowing that I found his “dead” daughter. So I proceeded to check her out.

I parted the hair in her face and turned her over. I checked for a heart beat. She was breathing. I wanted to pull god from the clouds and hug him tightly for not letting her see the light at the end of the tunnel. I wanted to say thank you that I found her alive. “Copeland…Copeland…wake up baby girl!” She wasn’t responding even with a little push to the shoulders. I sat her up in my lap and gave her a tiny slap to the face. I felt like it was the only other option I had to wake her up.

Fuck. It didn’t work. I needed a second to regroup. To get my thoughts together. I couldn’t think of anything else to do. My only conclusion was this…”It’s gonna be like that? Ok. Here’s how it gonna work. Listen here you little shit! If you don’t wake the fuck up, your dad will have a heart attack, Both Fuentes’ will kill themselves, mainly Vic, and Jaime will feel guilty for the rest of his life. I don’t exactly know why he would feel guilty. He didn’t do anything. And I will personally take my life as well if you don’t give me a sign that you’re ok!!!”

And with a twitch of her eyes, she slowly awakened. The moon brightened her light blue eyes. She breathed so softly. Her breath barely escaped her lips. She looked so amazing waking up like that. God, I always wanted to kiss her luscious lips.

“Cope, are you alright?!” I said shocked to see her awake.

“T-T-Tonnyy…” she stuttered. “A-Am I dead?”

“No beautiful, you’re not dead.” I just had to ask, “Why did you run away? We were all, well, specifically you’re parents, Vic, Jaime and I were worried sick about you!”

Tears swelled her eyes. I could tell she was scared and in pain. “…..Jaime…Jai…me. But V-Vic…M-Mikeyyy…”

“Shh, shh. They’re all fine. I promise. I’m calling your dad.” I swiftly pulled out my cell. I felt a cold hand pull me closer to the ground.

“No, d-don’t call him. Please, no, not y-yet.” I obeyed her command. I didn’t know why she didn’t want me to call her dad. I would figure she would want to go home. But she didn’t.

It began to rain like a monster. I briskly picked her up wedding style and carried her out of the alley. I glanced around from left to right, making sure that the others didn’t see me. I couldn’t think of any other place to go besides our bus and her home. I wasn't taking any chances going on our bus. It's better if she's home. Her parents might show up. And they would know it was me that saved her.

I felt a tug at my collar as I walked to her house. “Tony…I’m s-s-sorry.” My heart skipped a beat and my head went blank.

What? “Sorry for what? Don’t be sorry baby girl, you didn’t do anything.”

“But, I almost m-made my friends and f-fami-ly kill themselves because of me.”

We arrived at her house and this time, the door was open. I carefully placed her weak body on the couch. I searched around to see if anyone was home. Clearly, they weren’t.

“Copeland’s POV*

Tony placed me on the couch with comfort behind my head.

“Do you want something to drink?” Tony offered.

“No thanks.” At least the stuttering was gone.

“You know you almost forced Vic to go in his brother’s drawer, take out his gun, and shoot himself?”

Wow. Vic thought of doing that because of me? “What? No, no he can’t do that!”

“He didn’t. But we were all assuming he was going to if someone didn’t find you.”

I knelt my head down. “I’m not even worth it.” Puddles started to form in my eyes. I tried holding them back but I couldn’t. I blinked and they streamed down my face.

“What? Don’t you even say that! You are worth everything!”

“No one in my school seems to give a shit.” I pulled my hands toward my face. I didn’t want Tony to see me cry. In fact, he hasn’t seen me cry in forever. Years now. “The boys all look at me weirdly and the girls laugh at me as they strut their way down the hall. I sit by myself at lunch, Tony.”

“It’s ok. You’ll be fi-”

I cut him off. “No. I won’t. Ugh Tony, you don’t understand. You never will.” Damn. I shouldn’t’ve said that. He does know how it feels. He’s the one who told me that he spent most of his time in high school bummed and alone.

“Alright. Help me understand. What’s wrong? Is that why you ran away?”

I was ready to give him a long talk. Ready to pour my heart out to him. Ready to tell him why. Everything. Oh, except one thing…

That I loved him.

He would never feel the same. I just know it. “I feel so alone and depressed. There’s so many things that I don’t like about my life. I’m ugly and everyone else thinks so too. The girls laugh at me. The boys gawk at me. This new school freaking sucks! I hate it.”

“Don’t say that! You’re gorgeous! The people at you’re school are dumb fucks if they don’t recognize your beauty.”

“But that’s the problem. I don’t see it either. The boys are cute and they hate me. The girls are so pretty and they have wonderful clothes and personalities. I’m so fucking ugly and worthless.”

*Tony’s POV*

“I’m so fucking ugly and worthless,” she pouted.

“Stop that! Listen to me. Come here.” I began to comfort her. She rested her head on my chest. I stoked her hair. “You’re gorgeous. You probably walk past all these girls you wish you were friends with, boys you wish you had, and clothes you wish you owned. Well guess what? Stop worrying about those girls, those boys, those clothes. You’re amazing and beautiful and you don’t even know it. You probably don’t believe me but I promise. Your clothes are already perfectly fine. Go look in a mirror. Take pics, go for walks, and show off your beautiful face. Take time to realize who your true friends are. Heart broken? Listen to depressing music and cry, cry so much that you could fill a pool and swim so when you’re done crying, you’ll be happy that you reached the end. Go to school with the biggest smile on your face. Smile at the people that despise you and the people you don’t know. You could make their day so much better. I promise. Make a cake with these people and shove it in each others faces when you’re done. Play music loudly and sing at the top of your lungs! Eat what ever you want, a lot of it. And you’ll still be beautiful the next day. Live your life. Who cares what others think. Do what makes Copeland Quinn happy. You’re special and you don’t even know it.”

She sat up. She looked me in the eye and smiled. “I need to tell you something.” I was nervous. I had no idea what she was about to say to me. “I…I…I’m in lo-”

“Copeland! OH MY GOD! Where the fuck were you?!” shouted Vic as him and Jaime came pouncing through the door.
